Reflection on the British attitude towards membership in the EC/EU under the premiership of Harold Macmillan and David Cameron
Haas, Václav ; Kolman, Ondřej (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
The thesis reflects on the British attitude towards membership in the European Communities and the European Union under the premiership of Harold Macmillan and David Cameron, respectively. The theoretical section of the thesis defines the basic concepts related to the topic and presents available theoretical approaches. Closer attention is dedicated to traditional institutionalism, which defines the categories of costs and benefits as well as the sources of preferences that determine the government's decisions on ascension to the European integration process. In its practical section, the thesis outlines British opinions on individual stages and milestones of the European integration ranging from World War II to the filing of the official application for accession to the European Economic Community. The paper also identifies specific factors that participate in the decision-making process to redefine European politics under Macmillan's and Cameron's governments. The principal finding is that the two governments ascribe highly differing importance to individual types of costs and benefits and prefer different viewpoints in the decision-making process, which naturally leads to different conclusions.

Dalším cílem bylo sestavení predikčních rovnic pro výpočet % tělesného tuku za použití dostupných metod. Metoda: Studie se zúčastnilo 61 žen s nadváhou a obezitou (průměrný věk 48,6let ± 13,9). Pro stanovení množství tuku v těle byly využity čtyři terénní metody - bioimpedanční metoda s tetrapolámím uspořádáním elektrod (přístroj Bodystat), bioimpedanční metoda s bipedálním uspořádáním elektrod (přístroj Tanita), bioimpedanční metoda s využitím úchopu rukama (přístroj Omron) a antropometrické měření -metoda kaliperace. Tyto metody byly srovnány s metodou referenční - metoda celotělové denzitometrie (DEXA). Statistická analýza byla provedena za pomocí statistického programu Eviews 4.1 a programu Microsoft Office Excel XP Profesional. The text concentrates on two important phenomenons of contemporary world: "democracy" and "identity". Answering to these questions is divided into two parts: theoretical inquiry and practical investigation of the Civil Rights Movement. The theoretical part focuses on the notions of "universalism" and "project of identity". It argues that we should be cautious when we encounter with the claims of universality because they may serve as a cloak of exclusion and legitimize political actions. "Projects of identity" are visions which ascribe certain characteristics to categories of people and try to represent and/or activate them; they are connected not only with excluded but with excluders as well and we may judge them according to specific criterias that are presented in the text. The practical section deals with the african-american Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and the 1960s and studies concrete "projects of identity" as they were articulated by African Americans. Firstly it is concerned with the nature of their exclusion, secondly it pays attention to three représentants of given era (Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Stokely...
