This research deals with irregular female migration from Ukraine to Italy for employment as caregivers to the elderly. The main questions to be addressed are: 'What are the reasons for Ukrainian women to migrate irregularly to such a large extent to Italy? Which important aspects are connected to their employment as a caregiver to the elderly from the individual point of view of Ukrainian women? In this thesis I want to explain the reasons for Ukrainian women to take up work as irregular caregivers in Italy, giving insight into the organization of daily life of irregular Ukrainian care givers. Practical examples will be given that examine the help women receive from Ukrainian professional and private networks. Despite information gaps, the combination of expert and migrant interviews in combination with the analysis of research studies and secondary sources produced important findings on this topic. Firstly, irregular female migration is economically motivated and women are driven to Italy through specific push and pull factors. Secondly, employment and daily life as a caregiver to the elderly in Italy entails economic advantages, but psychological disadvantages for Ukrainian women. 1

Tučková, Karolína ; Vališová, Alena (referee) ; Pelikán, Jiří (advisor)
My thesis focuses on discussing and analyzing the problems of seniors' education, mostly from the theoretical point of view. The whole theme is divided into six chapters. The first part briefly describes the historical development of education of seniors. The second chapter is concentrated on the importance of seniors' education, both from the view of society (the emphasis is placed on population growth) and from the view of seniors. An important part of this chapter is also a motivation for late life learning. The third and the fourth parts are more focused on the process of education. In the third chapter I depict old age as a developmental stage and also the specificities of the elderly in the learning process, including a description of changes in cognitive functions that occur and have a considerable impact on the learning process. The fourth chapter is focused on gerontological didactics. The fifth chapter defines the concept of lifelong learning. The sixth summarizes the basic educational opportunities for senior citizens in the Czech Republic.

Payment mechanism mostly used in the aftercare field is the pay-per-day system, this mechanism is therefore later explained in detail including particular effects on after care beds financing. The second part of the thesis compares insurance reimbursement rates with real costs of one particular facility. The analysis proves that health insurance companies reimbursement rates are wrongly set and reimbursement legislation is being violated.

Consumer society, materialistic value orientation and quality of life
