Automotive antenna for mobile communications
Porč, Jan ; Láčík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pokorný, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of flush–mounted planar disc antenna suitable for use in vehicles. For each of the bands GSM900 and GSM1800, which are used in Czech republic, an independent antenna has been created. As a simulator of the electromagnetic field the program IE3D has been used. For the improvement of theoretical results an optimisation in the program MATLAB has been developed. As the optimisation method the genetic algorithms have been selected.
Synthesis of electromagnetic bandgap structures
Šedý, Michal ; Kovács, Peter (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
In microwave frequency band, the planar technology is mainly used to fabricate electronic circuits. Propagation of surface waves belongs to the significant problem of this technology. Surface waves can cause unwanted coupling among particular parts of the structure and can degrade its parameters. The problem can be solved using an electromagnetic band gap structure (EBG). These periodic structures are able to suppress surface waves in different frequency bands. This thesis is focused on the modeling of these structures in the program COMSOL Multiphysics.
Traffic Signs Detection and Recognition
Číp, Pavel ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Horák, Karel (advisor)
The thesis deals with traffic sign detection and recongnition in the urban environment and outside the town. A precondition for implementation of the system is built-in camera, usually in a car rear-view mirror. The camera scans the scene before the vehicle. The image data are transfered to the connected PC, where the data are transformation to information and evalutations. If the sign was detected the system is visually warned the driver. For a successful goal is divided into four separate blocks. The first part is the preparing of the image data. There are color segmentation with knowledge of color combination traffic signs in Czech Republic. Second part is deals with shape detection in segmentation image. Part number three is deals with recognition of inner pictogram and its finding in the image database. The final part is the visual output of displaying founded traffic signs. The thesis has been prepader so as to ensure detection of all relevant traffic signs in three basic color combinations according to existing by Decree of Ministry of Transport of Czech Republic. The result is the source code for the program MATLAB. .
The use of genetic algorithm for edge detection in medical images
Slobodník, Michal ; Švrček, Martin (referee) ; Hrubeš, Jan (advisor)
This work deals with the possibilities of employing a genetic algorithm to edge detection. There is introduced a project which uses enhanced image divided into sub-regions, on which detection by genetic algorithm is applied. To achieving our goals are used individuals in two-dimensional bit arrays, for which are specially adjusted mutation and crossover operators. Cost minimization approach is used as fitness function. The project was created and tested in Matlab environment.
Optimization of four-bar mechanism geometry for the predescribed trajectory
Korytár, Lukáš ; Sova, Václav (referee) ; Grepl, Robert (advisor)
This thesis deals with the optimization of arm lengths of four-bar RRRR mechanism using matrix kinematics. It compares and describes the methods, which are available in MATLAB software environment for this purpose. Consequently, an optimization algorithm using fmincon function is designed for which Monte-Carlo algorithm performs the first estimates. Elementary requirements for the proposed algorithm are devised in order to accurately duplicate the predescribed trajectory.
MATLAB/ Global Optimization Toolbox: Solving Optimization Problems
Švihálková, Kateřina ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee) ; Lang, Stanislav (referee) ; Matoušek, Radomil (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with basic description of global optimization methods which are implemented in MATLAB environment. First part of this thesis describes two MATLAB's toolboxes -- Optimization Toolbox and Global Optimization Toolbox. This study also describes chosen algorithms from those toolboxes (Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, Pattern Search and Fminsearch) and describes it's implementation. The last part is focused on the solving of optimization problems. Rosenbrock's function, Rastrigin's function, Traveling Salesman Problem and Stepped Cantilever Beam Design Problem are being solved by methods mentioned above. Reached results of every task are compared to each other and evaluated.
Mobile robot path planning by means of genetic algorithm
Sipták, Petr ; Krček, Petr (referee) ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor)
My thesis deals with the mobile robot path planning by means of genetic algorithms. The first part describes common approaches to the topic and in the second part I describe my own solution using language C# which I conceived as a schematic illustration of how genetic algorithms work.
Utilization of inverse reliability analysis tools for probability based design of selected structural parameters
Lipowczan, Martin ; Novák, Drahomír (referee) ; Lehký, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of methodology and tools of inverse analysis in regards to probabilistic design of selected design parameters of structure. The first step was to get familiar with the probabilistic design and analysis, then understanding of the inverse analysis methodology itself which is based on artificial neural networks. After researching the topic we could get to the actual issue. To put the theory in practice easier examples were used at first. These were mathematical functions and one practical-based example, whereas the results were known in advance. This simplified a process of checking achieved values. Using software tools and especially DLNNET software allowed us to take on practical exercises. Used exercises are chosen from earlier undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno. The first of these was a design of reinforced concrete slab, where desired parameters were slab’s height and area of reinforcement. The second one was a design of a diagonal truss screw connection, aimed to size the screw diameter and its quantity.
WLFM radar signal ambiquity function optimalization using genetic algorithm
Bartoš, M.
This paper deals with optimization of ambiguity function. The purpose of article is to describe optimization process using Genetic Algorithm for suppressing side-lobes of a signal. There are also depicted properties of weighted linear frequency modulation waveform.
Optimization of Multilayer Perceptron Training Parameters Using Artificial Bee Colony and Genetic Algorithm
Kartci, A.
In this paper, the momentum coefficient, learning rate, and the number of hidden neurons where the multilayer perceptron works best, are determined. The network and optimization algorithms are written in MATLAB, which was also successfully used to carry out results. To obtain the results, IRIS, mammographic_mass, and new_thyroid data sets have been used. Obtained results show that the determining effect on the neural learning process of parameters (momentum coefficient, learning rate, number of hidden neurons) are compatible with other approaches available in the literature. Both genetic algorithm (GA) and artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm were successful on finding the values to get high performance as well as effect on performance of the population number.
