Alice Oktábcová Thesis title: Summary of Principles and Recommendations for Stroke Patients and their Families after Discharge from Acute Stroke Units Background: Stroke is a very serious and common disease with a high mortality. It is important for patients to start rehabilitation as soon as possible. Early discharge allows stroke patients return home to continue rehabilitation in familiar surroundings. The responsibility for continued rehabilitation is in the hands of patients and their families and the main aim is to adjust to everyday life. Objective: The aim of this work is to create an educational material "Summary of Principles and Recommendations for Stroke Patients and their Families after Discharge from Acute Stroke Units", to help patients in the stroke problematics. This Summary includes information about stroke issues, stroke epidemiology, consequences and risks, practical advices, compensatory aids, possibilities of rehabilitation and information on social counseling, speech therapy and outpatient rehabilitation with relevant contacts. Nursing care of patient with quadriplegia

The bachelor thesis focuses on nursing care of a quadruplegic patient. The theoretical part describes anatomy and physiology of spine and spinal cord, characteristics of disability, first aid, etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics, therapy, complications and nursing care. The sources for an elaboration of the theoretical part were found in the National Medical Library, via Medvik, on Wikiscriptions, on the thesis repositories and on the Spinal Unit website. For a larger amount of resources, research was made in the National Medical Library based on keywords. For the elaboration of the practical part, a qualitative research method was chosen in the form of a case study of a patient with quadruplegia. Case study includes information from medical records, interviews with the patient and observations. The main goal of the bachelor thesis is to process a case study, which includes a nursing plan of a selected patient with all the specifics, that the care for the quadruplegic patient brings us. Activity of lower oesophageal sphincter in healthy patients in various postural positions

The aim of this thesis is to describe information about GERD, its etiology, anatomy, pathology, treatment options and rehabilitation in patients with GERD. Lower oesophageal sphincter and antireflux barrier. The study was approved by the ethics committee. 30 probands were included in the study and their health status was verified using the Health Related Quality of Life questionnaire. A manometric catheter was inserted, proband was instructed to maintain various postural positions. Lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface, lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface with head fixated manualy, sitting and standing position, load in the center of gravity 3/6/9 kg, load outside the center of gravity 3/6/9 kg, lifting of the office chair. It has been shown that LES pressure increases in all postural positions compared to resting pressure. The positions activate the diaphragm to demonstrate the postural function of the diaphragm. The most significant change in LES pressures was in the postural position of lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface, the LES resting pressure of 20.34mmHg changed to the pressure of LES 40.92mmHg. The Quality of Life of People with Physical Disabilities

The bachelor thesis focuses on the topic Quality of Life of People with Physical Disabilities. The aim of the thesis is to map the issue of factors influencing the quality of life of people with physical disabilities. The research was actualized on the basis of a qualitative survey. On the basis of the set goals, the main research question has been defined: Which factors affect the quality of life of people with disabilities? The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters, so-called key units. The first of the chapters clarifies the issue of physical disability, which the work focuses on. The second chapter deals with the life's quality, explains the concept and principles of quality of life. The third chapter introduces the care of people with disabilities, focuses primarily on coordinated rehabilitation. The practical part describes the aims of the thesis, the specific questions, the methodology of the survey and the techniques of collecting data. To achieve the goal of the practical part, open coding was chosen. The selected technique of collecting data has been the in-depth interview and analysis of case studies. After examining the issue, factors influencing the quality of life of people with physical disabilities were identified. Key factors include family support, access to society, sport, transport, rehabilitation, finance, contact with people with physical disabilities, or various aids. The thesis can help eliminate negative factors influencing the lives of people with physical disabilities and, as a result, this thesis can lead to reflection on how to improve the lives of these individuals.
The influence of the relaxation music and the use of techniques of music therapy and choreotherapy in work with mentally handicapped individuals

The thesis studies the influence of relaxation music, music therapy and choreotherapy in the work with mentally handicapped individuals. It further concentrates on relaxation music, relaxation and rehabilitation while the attention is also paid to the music therapy and its different types, methods and purposes. The last part of the thesis focuses on the choreotherapy. The next section uncovers the specific activities which can be performed during the interaction with mentally handicapped individuals, and not only with them. All acti-vities are divided according to the specific therapy. In general, the thesis pursues the influence of specific therapies on the mentally handicapped individuals, however it can also serve as a set of instructions for people who would like to study these therapies, or for people who work with mentally handicapped individuals.
Evaluation of the most frequent injuries of marathon runners

Title: Evaluation of the most frequent injuries of marathon runners Objectives: The main objective of this research is to evaluate the most common injuries in marathon runners. The research is focused on amateur long-distance runners of both sexes from 23 years of age. Another goal is to analyze the possible causes and factors that influence injuries. Methods: In the diploma thesis, the method of literary research and the method of questioning is used. Theoretical knowledge is drawn from both domestic and foreign literature. Data for analytical evaluation are obtained using a non-standardized questionnaire filled in running races - Libouchecky ultramaraton and Jirkovsky crossmaraton. Total of 156 questionnaires were obtained, 122, of which 61 % were included for analytical evaluation. The IBM SPSS analytics program and Microsoft Excel 2016 is used for data analysis. Results: Study showed that 61 out of the total 122 runners were injured, which is 50 % of respondents. Of these were 23 women and 38 men. Research confirmed two hypotheses out of five. The statistically significant relationship between the cause of the injury and the sex has been confirmed. Analysis of the shoulder girdle injury and therapy of overhead athletes in Czech republic

Jan Vocásek Thesis title: Analysis of the shoulder girdle injury and therapy of overhead athletes in Czech republic Cíl: The aim of the thesis was to create a literal research for the shoulder girdle injuries of overhead athletes, theoretically to write the anatomical and kinesiological characteristics of the shoulder girdle, to analyze the biomechanics, injury mechanisms in individual overhead sports, rehabilitation treatment and to find out how frequent the injuries of athletes in the Czech Republic follow-up treatment varies from abroad. Methods: For the purpose of this research was established a non-standardized questionnaire, based on literature studied and research questions, and then was distributed to 6 selected physicians dealing with this issue in the Czech Republic, who anonymously filled out questions regarding the shoulder joint injury based on their own clinical experiences. Results: Four of the six hypotheses were confirmed from the data obtained. The number of patients with shoulder girdle injuries in overhead sports in the Czech Republic has risen year- on-year and the most common injury is SLAP lesion. The significance of physiotherapy after the surgeries of tumoral processes through the thoracic way

Tumoral diseases of the lungs are one of the most frequent causes of hospitalization and necessary surgical interventions in the chest area. The most common is bronchogenic carcinoma, which is mentioned as the most common malignancy among men in incidence and mortality. In women it occupies the third place. Worldwide, it results in 20% of all deaths from oncological causes. The main theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibilities of physiotherapy with patients after chest surgery emphasizing respiratory physiotherapy. Part of the practical section of this bachelor's thesis reviews questionnaires distributed to the patients with the aim of analyzing patient participation, the quality of and satisfaction with their preoperative and early postoperative rehabilitation and interest in outpatient rehabilitation. A case report of a patient who underwent chest surgery due to a lung cancer is added.
