Kareta, Filip ; Jamek, Václav (advisor) ; Pohorský, Aleš (referee)

Author concentrated on the sources of inspiration and on contribution of individual authors in relation to previous works with Don Juan's theme. In his work he uses mainly the comparative method. He divides works into three groups. In the first group, there are the works whose authors found inspiration for Don Juan's character above all in the works of Molière and Tirso de Molina. In the second part, there are works that follow the romantic concept by Prosper Mérimée. In the third part, there are atypical works, in which does not prevail any of the previous models. Meze a jazyky v poezii současných irských autorek
Theinová, Daniela ; Quinn, Justin (advisor) ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Campbell, Matthew (referee)
Filozofická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy v Praze DISSERTATION ABSTRACT Daniela Theinová LIMITS AND LANGUAGES in Contemporary Irish Women's Poetry "Irish poetry" is an inherently equivocal concept characterized by two fissures, one linguistic (Irish-English; standard English-Hiberno English) and the other chronological (oral-written; Old Irish-modern Irish). Central to my project is to show how this bifurcate cultural identity, prominent in Irish literature due to Ireland's history and the politicized concept of "national language," figures in poetry by Irish women of the last forty years. While I account for the significance of the hyphen in Anglo-Irish as well as in Gaelic-Irish poets, contradictory tensions are traced not only across and along the linguistic divide. In attending to the shift from feminism (Eavan Boland, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Paula Meehan, Medbh McGuckian, and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill) to post-feminism in Irish poetry (Biddy Jenkinson, Vona Groarke, Caitríona O'Reilly, and Aifric Mac Aodha), I illustrate the role that the border between English and Irish has played in these processes. The dissertation falls into two parts each of which consists of two chapters. Part One explores some of the ways in which poets have confronted the inherited tradition and the feminine stereotypes therein. My...
Pirandellian inspirations in selected comedies by Eduardo De Filippo
Arnsteinová, Sára ; Flemrová, Alice (advisor) ; Pelán, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis attempt, based on analysis of selected works by Eduardo De Filippo, to assess the impact of pirandellian poetic on the creation of this artist. In the introductory chapters there are outlined issues and development of De Filippo's and Pirandello's playwright production. Other chapters are devoted to their meeting and subsequent collaboration, which consisted in De Filippo's translation of Pirandello's comedies in Neapolitan dialect (Liolà, Il beretto a sonagli) and in the De Filippo's dramatization of short story L'Abito Nuovo. In subsequent chapters there are present fundamental analysis of four comedies Uomo e galantuomo; Io, lerede; La grande magia and L'arte della commedia. From this gradually changing character of these works, we can observe how the character of pirandellian inspirations transformed in the work of De Filippo. After there is also characterized the role of dialect in De Filippo's comedies. In the penultimate chapter, on the basis of analysis, I am trying to define a different concept of humor in the playwright production of these two artists. I summarized the results of the analysis and important points that I found out during the work in the conclusion, while I am trying to define the strength of pirandellian inspirations in the playwright production of...
Journals of teaching history as a practical methodical support to Czechoslovak teachers of history in the period 1948-1970
Bimková, Dana ; Mikeska, Tomáš (advisor) ; Parkan, František (referee)
This master thesis deals with history teaching from 1948 up to 1970. The main focus is not put on the way how the teaching looked really like, but it deals with the teaching methods how history should be taught. The major sources are journals of education for history teaching, mostly Dějepis ve škole and the preceding and following journals. The basic question is whether the magazines could have really helped the teachers in terms of teaching methodology and what was this support like. In the first chapter the history of education is described, the second chapter deals with the journals of education for history teaching. Next is described how a lesson should look like, the whole-class presentation, examination, revision, using a textbook. Special chapter deals with various tools for history teaching, including maps, images, audiovisual aids and literature. Moreover there is covered regional history, excursions, cooperation with museums and archives. In the end the basic question is answered; the journals were able to help the teachers well, many interesting and inspiring articles were in them. Nowadays, the problems of history teaching are almost the same, the have not been solved yet. Furthermore in the end are discussed special methodological debates in the half-public space that were present in...
Petr Eben - music as a way to God
Šmardová Koulová, Jana ; Špačková, Alena (advisor) ; Tvrdek, Petr (referee)
Petr Eben. Petr Eben. Music as the way to God. Jana Šmardová Koulová Summary In my work I have come to the conclusion that Petr Eben's music means really great contribution not only to Czech but even to the whole world sacred music with his compositions that help a lot in ecumenical efforts. The author's own true faith in God, thanks to his concentrated and meaningful work, conveys onto the listener and addresses him/her with direct impact. He understood the subservience of music well, and he...

Radical Experience and Thinking of Poetic Inspiration. The Body (without Organs) in Maurice Blanchot's Space of Literature.
Poch, Martin ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
Radical Thinking and Experience of Poetic Inspiration → Abstract Blanchot's radical thinking of writer's experience poses, but do not answer a question of its physical dimension. According to Blanchot, it seems as if the writer's experience was completely unbodied, so that it excludes the possibility of writing and realization of essential speech in the world. Our interpretation of Blanchot's key concepts proceeds with an attempt to solve this problem and present its main consequences. In the last section we operate some of the terms of Deleuze and Guattari - namely becoming, the body without organs - in order to conceive writer's experience as inherently differentiated process in which the body is absent, because - deprived of its organs - it becomes an imperceptible part of assemblage which enters the space of literature.
