The role of a nurse in prevention of injuries with women patients with osteoporosis aiming at women in menopause
ŽAMBOCHOVÁ, Pavla
Injury rate among seniors has been increasing rapidly in the Czech Republic recently. Women in menopause with osteoporosis diagnosed form a large group. These are so called low-energy injuries, which are closely linked to increased mortality among old people. This issue is not only related to healthcare, but also to social and economic spheres. Proper education in prevention of injury occurrence in women with this diagnosis is one of the key means leading to reduction of the number of osteoporotic fractures. The Code of Ethics of the International Council of Nurses points out the obligation of a nurse to take responsibility in prevention sphere. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with characteristics of the menopause period, development of osteoporosis, the most frequent osteoporosis related injuries prevention, and an outline of social and economic impact of the injury rate. The practical part deals with a research performed on patients of the orthopaedic outpatient department of the Tábor Hospital. Six women with diagnosed osteoporosis in menopause were chosen. The main goal of the work was to find out what role a nurse from an orthopaedic outpatient department plays in prevention of injuries in women with osteoporosis, whether patients are aware of injury prevention possibilities, which form of provision of such information is best appreciated by the patients and whether the patients apply their knowledge of prevention to practice. A qualitative research in the form of non-standardized interview with open questions prepared in advance was performed. The interviews were conducted individually with each patient. A framework analysis based on the results from the interviews was performed and category groups formed. Processing of the results revealed that the information on prevention of injury in osteoporosis provided to the patients by the orthopaedic outpatient department was poor. Nurses are involved in this prevention activity just marginally or not at all. Complex identification of the problem might be the topic of further research. It might be necessary to find out whether insufficient time, poor knowledge of the problem or indifferent attitude to the problem is the reason. On the other hand only some of the patients apply their obtained knowledge to practice. We can however conclude from the interviews that provision of general information on prevention and the risks of injuries might inspire women to modification of their present way of life. Organization of group lectures with the possibility to obtain printed complex data of this society-wide problem seems to be a suitable form of providing information.

A roma child in foster care of a family belonging to majoritarian society
Zahradníková, Šárka ; Kremličková, Marta (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
The thesis presents the results of qualitative research conducted in foster families raising Roma children. The data obtained during unstructured interviews was analyzed using both what is called a simple and a narrative analysis. The results of the simple and the narrative analysis are presented to show the effects of raising a Roma child on these white families. The results suggest that the life of such families is affected by racism in the society while the characteristics described as typical for the Romas do not influence the family life more than other individual characteristics of the children. Furthermore, the process of how children in care become adults is described. The major factors which influence the process are: a complicated search for identity, handicaps gained by the children in their past and their low self-esteem. It takes longer than is normally expected for these children to become stable and mature - often until they are between 25 and 30 years old. Separation, which is the most important part of this process, is painful both for the children and for their families. The foster parents usually adopt either positive or negative views according to the outcomes of this process. In the latter case, the foster parents learn to cope with the negative feelings by realizing that it is only the...

Works family for educe children with visual handicap
LOPATOVÁ, Zdeňka
Family plays a very important role in every man{\crq}s life. In family we hawe a haven, we can lay on it all the time and it is a stepping stone into our life. We learn the basics of manners and mutual relations within our family. It is also a pattern for us, how the family relationships should look like. Of course we consider family without any pathological problems. Such a family can offer the right start into the life so that a man becomes an even and self {--} confident personality. I chose this topic for the reason, as I found it interesting for absorbing and elaborating. As mentioned above plays the family an important role in every man{\crq}s life the more if it considers a child which is disadvantaged. The way and grade of handicap plays no role, but the attitude of the family and the closest does. It takes different period of time to each person to cope with this fact, but in my personal opinion, most families can successfully go over it. In this time there are a lot of organizations devoted to taking care of families of visual handicapped children who work as well as with the parents as with the children themselves. Although the access to information can be sufficient for the parents, the offer is not always used by the parents and this happens even though complex and special attitude is needed in these cases. The aim of my work is to make clear the issue of children with a visual handicap education. My hypothesis was, that for an optimal grow up and education of these children is a sufficient source of information and cooperation with the parents with the institutions needed and I also proved it in my qualitative research. For my research I used a questionnaire and a guided dialogue with the parents and handicapped children. I interviewed in total four families, who assisted very well. I can see a practical use of my conclusions mainly in the sphere of people awareness about the problems and hurdles of the families with a handicapped child, further on their education and interests as well as their integration into society.

The significance of free Time for the life´s quality of persons with Optic Handicap.
HESSOVÁ, Jana
The bachelor thesis addresses the importance of leisure time for the quality of life of people with visual impairment. Leisure time has the same importance for the target group as it has for the majority. It brings relaxation, physical and mental relief and stress reduction. Leisure time also plays an important role in casual and informal integration. Sports activities constitute an ideal tool for involvement and integration of individuals with visual impairment into the society. These activities have a considerable benefit in the prevention of secondary impacts in individuals with visual impairment. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters. The first section defines the term ?quality of life.? The second section of the theoretical part addresses the term ?visual impairment.? The final section of the theoretical part defines the term ?leisure time?. The practical part of the bachelor thesis contains research objectives and research questions. The data were collected in a qualitative procedure, using the technique of a structured interview with open-ended questions. The research set consisted of four respondents with visual impairment from the region of České Budějovice. The objective of the bachelor thesis is to perform a qualitative research to introduce sports activities as a possible tool of prevention of secondary impacts of visual impairment. The above stated objective has two sub-objectives. A qualitative procedure was selected for achieving the objectives of the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The research took place through structured interviews with open-ended questions. The data collected from the respondents helped me to answer the below stated research questions. Research question No. 1: What is the importance of sports activities from the view of an individual with visual impairment? It is possible to state that the main benefit of sports activities for all the respondents is the improvement of both mental and physical condition, wellbeing and stress relief. These activities have a positive effect in the area of relieving the tension and having fun, and contribute to the feeling of living the day to the fullest. Research question No. 2: What sports activities do the respondents with visual impairment perform? The qualitative research has clearly shown that the sports activity most commonly performed by the respondents is swimming, followed by hiking and riding a tandem bike. Research question No. 3: Why do the respondents with visual impairment not perform sports activities in their leisure time? Ascertain the reasons. The qualitative analysis of the collected data has shown that the obstacles for performing sports activities in leisure time have an external nature. The reasons are either organizational problems or absence of assistance or guiding services. It has followed from the conclusions derived in relation to the first sub-objective that according to the analyzed individuals, the most common obstacle for performing sports activities is a limited availability of assistance. Another obstacle for performing the activities is their costs and problems with accessibility by transport. The outputs obtained in relation to the second sub-objective have proven that a very beneficial and preferred activity of the research set is swimming. Other sports activities conducted by them are hiking and riding a tandem bike. The analysis has shown that these activities have a positive effect particularly on the locomotor system. All these activities have a great benefit for the prevention of secondary impacts in individuals with visual impairment. The bachelor thesis may be used as a study material for the students of related branches due to the narrow specialization of the thesis in the branch of special education of people with visual impairment.

The Employment of Clients of the Halfway House
BOČANOVÁ, Marcela
This Bachelor thesis is called The Employment of Clients of the Halfway House. The theoretical part consists of three areas which describe the services of the Halfway House, the characteristics of its clients and also the possibilities of searching work. The practical part is focused on the research itself, used methodology, obtained results and discussion. The Halfway House is oriented on young people till they are 26 years old and who leave state school facilities for institutional protective upbringing once they reach a legal age. The other groups which this service is oriented on are people who are released from their sentence or from protective treatment. Last but not least, these houses are also intended for young people who suddenly find themselves in an unfavorable life situation which they are not capable to deal with on their own. The Halfway House provides accommodation at a reduced price, advisory and they also try to make the transition of their clients from institutional environment a little bit easier. During this transition, the people have to face many problems and searching for work is only one of them. Thanks to the institutional upbringing, they lack work habits, tend to be more psychically unstable and they usually have more issues with getting into new relationships. Current situation on labour market when the labour supply highly exceeds labour demand and the job offer is quite limited obviously does not benefit to the situation of these people. The aim of this thesis was to map the situation of the clients of the Halfway House and also to answer the research question what problems on the labour market these young people usually face. I chose a qualitative research to gather required data. As a methodology, I used interviewing with a usage of half-structured technique and a method of document analysis with the help of content analysis data technique. The research was performed with twelve people, four respondents were social workers from the Halfway House and other eight people were clients of these providers from whom three were unemployed. Three respondents came to these facilities from upbringing institution and the rest were from children?s home. Two respondents had only basic education, five respondents reached secondary education with certificate of apprenticeship and one respondent had a secondary education with leaving exam. The output of this research is a finding that situation of clients of the Halfway House is unfavorable at current conditions. To find a job, they use internet, job offers in magazines, personal contact with companies, acquaintances and job agencies. During the time they are unemployed, they are obliged to be registered at the Employment Office of the Czech Republic. The social worker stated that other problems the clients encounter on labour market, besides lack of work habits, unstable psyche, low communication skills, were incorporation into work society, solving of conflict situation with co-workers and high salary expectations. Clients themselves stated that the problems on labour market for them were high education expectations from the employers, complications with curriculum vitae compilation and writing of motivation letter. Two respondents also saw the problem in their ethnic membership and as a reason for their unemployment stated discrimination of a society. None of the respondents stated that was discriminated due to their institutional past. In my opinion, it is important to show the facilities like the Halfway House and social issues of young people who try to integrate themselves to a normal life after leaving institutional facilities because it is important to raise public awareness regarding this topic. This thesis can serve as a study material for students of social-law branches and also as a feedback for social worker of the Halfway House.
