The Case Law Publication
Králík, Lukáš ; Kühn, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Maršálek, Pavel (referee) ; Masopust, Zdeněk (referee)
The phenomenon of the case law and publication of the case law reports has been present in our legal culture at least since the 13th century, as well as in some other European countries. Court decisions in writing occurred through several types of documents and sources. We can trace the case law documents in the public royal records ("the plates"), the law books and the first constitutional codifications of law. There is even particular group of the law collections which we can actually name as the original case law reports. The case law reports were designed even before this period of time. Unfortunately, no such original law reports survived up to the present day. We can strongly state the sustainable tradition of typical case law collections in the Czech legal culture since the medieval times. The very first case law reports in modern sense of meaning came in late 1850`s. But the periodicals case law reports in the Czech language eventually appeared with the year of 1918 when the Czech state was restored. Creating the case law reports and its headnotes falls within the process of court decisions publication. The courts, which constitute the top of the judicial pyramid, operate with their special individual instruments on their case law publication. The official law reports have been established...

Image of mafia in Leonardo Sciascia's works
Bubela, Petr ; Flemrová, Alice (advisor) ; Pelán, Jiří (referee)
The aim of my thesis is an analysis of the literary image of mafia in Leonardo Sciascia's works from the 60th and 70th of the 20th century. The literary techniques are documented using the examples of the concrete parts of the text in which the mafia operates. At the same time I give an account of the way Sciascia applies the genre rules of the detective story. The subjects of study represent four novels (The Day of the Owl, To Each His Own, Context and One Way or Another) together with one drama L'onorevole. The above mentioned works have been interpreted and analyzed in terms of the structure, genre and language used while the findings of other scholars focused on Sciascia's work have been taken into account of as well. Mafia constitutes one of the key motifs in the work of Leonardo Sciascia. His reoccurring interest stemmed from the fact that he was well acquainted with the phenomenon, partly due to his personal experience and partly due to his intensive study of the matter. Nevertheless he refused to attribute the existence of the mafia solely to Sicily. In his perception, mafia was only one manifestation of Power on which he critically reflected all his life. Sciascia perceived mafia as a result of the social conditions and as an integral part of the power system of Sicily, or consequently the...

Zaripova, Lilia ; Elšík, Viktor (advisor) ; Sloboda, Marián (referee)
Title of the Bachelor thesis: Ethnolinguistic Vitality of the Bashkort Language Abstract: This bachelor thesis examines the problems that the Bashkort language faces in present-day Bashkortostan and estimates ethnolinguistic vitality of the Bashkort language. The Bashkort language vitality is estimated as vulnerable and it is topical to find the problematic moments and give solutions to revive and maintain the language. The research is based on Language Vitality Theory formulated by Giles, Bourhis and Taylor in 1977. To measure the subjective ethnolinguistic vitality I used Subjective Vitality Questionnaire created by Bourhis, Giles and Rosenthal, 1981. The research was held among 63 Bashkort respondents in Bashkortostan in February 2012. The results show that although the Bashkort people estimate Bashkort vitality lower than Russian vitality, the Bashkort are very proud of their history and culture and estimate these aspects much higher than the Russian's. Thus potential for revitalization is exists and a lot will depend on correct policy and willingness of people to maintain Bashkort. Key words: Language Vitality Theory, objective vitality, subjective vitality, titular nationality

Interactive narrative in the era of the digital storytelling
Kohutová, Radka ; Kraus, Jiří (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
Stories are the cornerstone of common cultural understanding, creativity, and even socialisation and language. They surround us and stimulate us, entertain us, engage us, and even horrify us. We tell them every day and even participate in and create them just by living our lives and interacting with others. Being human simply means being part of a narrative on our journeys through life-right from infancy with the exposure to fairy-tales that afford us the chance to understand and decode our first stories along with language that introduces us to basic concepts like right and wrong. In fact, Tilley claims that "We are socialized through narrative forms, which offer stories to moderate behaviour ('Don't do that or...'), to develop language ('Mary, Mary, quite contrary...'), to engage the imagination ('Beware the wolf in the forest...') or to make us laugh ('This little piggy went to market...')." (Tilley, 1992: 53) Here is also where we are first introduced to the traditional structure and organizing principles behind the phenomenon of storytelling-narrative. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The Present-day Language of Young People in Russian and Czech
Dále jsme mluvu mládeže analyzovali z hlediska lingvistického v rámci ruského a českého národního jazyka. Analýza terminologické triády argot-žargon-slang v různém názorovém pojetí ruských a českých jazykovědců nám přinesla cenná zjištění, ze kterých jsme dále vycházeli při řešení terminologické problematiky týkající se mluvy mládeže. Po usouvztažnění různých ruských a českých termínů označujících zkoumaný jazykový útvar jsme upřednostnili užívání neutrálního pojmu mluva mládeže, jenž není v rozporu s ostatním odborným názvoslovím. Z hlediska terminologické nejednotnosti jsme mluvu mládeže v ruštině a češtině shledali Jevem problematickým. Vytvořená teoretická základna nám však umožnila vyjasnit strukturní Uspořádání slovní zásoby, základní zákonitosti a funkce daného jazykového útvaru. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Diary narration in short prose by Peter Handke
Trnková, Gabriela ; Tvrdík, Milan (referee) ; Stromšík, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with short prose by Peter Handke: Das Gewicht der Welt (1977), Die Geschichte des Bleistifts (1982), Versuch über die Müdigkeit (1990), Versuch über die Jukebox (1990), Versuch über den geglückten Tag (1991) and Nachmittag eines Schriftstellers (1987). In the texts we meet with diary records (Gewicht and Geschichte) and more or less continuously narrated story (Versuche und Nachmittag). Autobiography as a genre cannot be clearly defined from relating genres such as diaries or memoirs - they usually differ by some signs. On the other hand, it can be said that all texts mentioned above contain autobiographical moments eventhough they vary formally. In the narration both the first and 87 the third person singular is used and some diary records make an impression as if the subject was missing entirely. Handke's books are not autobiographies of a type: I remember, In those days (though these can be also found in a particular form). They rather represent autobiographies of the author which contain a number of notes, ideas and reflections considering his life together with language, meaning they always think how to express the experience in words. The texts can be considered as autobiographies because in the stage of the text the hero I is met, who, moreover, is the writer, writing in I. In the...

An analysis of the contemporary song texts in romani
Skočovská, Markéta ; Červenka, Jan (referee) ; Andrš, Zbyněk (advisor)
My bachelor's thesis is a study of contemporary Romani musical texts. In particular, I focus on the thematic analysis of the texts, their compositional and linguistic style, as well as their function in present-day life. Romani song texts have always been one of the cultural attributes with which the cultural identity of Roma has been strengthened. The question I have posed is whether the texts of current songwriters still fulfill this function. I selected six Romani authors of song texts, who at the same time act as the musical interpreters of their own works. They are Mario Bihari, Jan Duzda, Marie Duzdova, Desiderius Duzda, Radoslav "Gipsy" Banga, and members of the band Gulo čar. They represent various musical genres and an age range between twenty-two and forty-four years. Original texts released on musical media after the year 2000 served as the material for the study. All of the analyzed texts, with their Czech translations, can be found in the appendix. In the chapter entitled "Thematic Analysis" I conclude that the most common themes in the analyzed texts have to do with human emotions, experiences and life events. Each author has a different manner of working with these motives. The following chapter, "The Language and Style of the Texts," considers the ways in which the themes are expressed. In...

Využitie webových aplikačných frameworkov pri tvorbe informačných systémov
Špaňo, Martin ; Hoksza, David (referee) ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor)
Web application frameworks accelerate the development of web information systems. There are many frameworks available to developers these days. This work tries to find suitable criteria for their comparison. Three popular web frameworks based on Java programming language - Spring, Seam and Struts 2 were compared according to these criteria. The comparison includes the implementation of small information system in all three frameworks and performing measurements on these implementations. The results of comparisons and measurements were analyzed and recommendation for the deployments of compared frameworks in different conditions were given based on these results.

Kotvová, Lenka ; Zeman, Dalibor (advisor) ; Hadwiger, Julia Nina Vanessa (referee)
Synopsis University: Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Pedagogicka fakulta, Katedra gennanistiky Title: Anglicisms In The Youth Language A Diachronic Research Based On Two Selected Numbers of The Youth Magazine Bravo Author: Lenka Kotvova Supervisor: PhDr. Dalibor Zeman, Ph.D. Pages: 42 The thesis deals with the issue of anglicisms in the Gennan youth language and is based on two numbers of the Gennan magazine Bravo. In the theoretical part the individual linguistic (resp. sociolinguistic) tenns are explained. Further, a brief, retrospective overview of the influences on Gennan is presented and into focus comes the in these days widest spread one: the influence of English. Contrastive reactions to this issue of both professional and lay public are introduced and attention is also drawn to the related danger of international homonyms. The practical part lies in own research, which primarily observes the frequency of anglicisms present in the youth language within the last 15 years. As the functional basis two numbers of the teenage magazine Bravo, 2/1993 and 39/2008, are chosen. Not only comes into question the quantitative point; the qualities of individual anglicisms are also examined.
