Motýlová, Ivana ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Novotná, Yvona (referee)
This thesis refers to the solution to the ongoing conflict in one of the poorest and most unstable states in the world -- in Afghanistan. Historical aspects of this conflict lasting since 2001 are analysed as well as factors determining the character of the Afghan society. Further, this thesis deals with the development of the conflict and with the post-conflict reconstruction, which will contribute considerably to its solution. There are lots of internal and external participants in the post-conflict reconstruction. One of them is the Czech Republic operating as a member of the international community. The Czech contribution is thoroughly described in the case study, which forms the last chapter of this thesis.

Marková, Magdaléna ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Physical rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis- Questionnaire Objectives: The objective of the project is to map approach to physiotherapy of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) using a questionnaire in three selected countries in Europe. We assume that the results objectively point out the diversity of approaches to physiotherapy among patients with MS. The data collection will be further used to prepare an international comparative study comparing the effectiveness of various physiotherapeutic approaches. Methods: The questionnaire, used in our study has been created by a team of experts from organizations RIMS, SIG on Mobility (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis, Special Interest Group) during the last two years. PhDr.Kamila Řasová, PhD., from whose initiative this study came, is a member of this organization. The questionnaire was sent to the coordinator in each country. Then the coordinator completed the questionnaire together with the experts in rehabilitation. Completed copies were sent to the Czech Republic, where they were statistically analysed. Results: We found out that in each country there are differences between knowledge and usage of examination and therapeutic techniques. Furthermore, the perception of the therapeutic content of the three basic models for physiotherapy...

Endogeneity of credit or nominal rigidities?
Franče, Václav ; Lopušník, Ondřej (referee) ; Mertlík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis presents a theoretical model which tries to explain causes of business cycles fluctuations and which has its roots in the Post Keynesian stream of economic thought. According to this model, investment shocks together with endogeneity of money causes business cycles fluctuations. This model is compared with existing New Keynesian models which assert that causes of business cycles fluctuations are monetary policy shocks together with various nominal and real rigidities. Author uses econometric techniques (impulse-response functions and forecast error variance decomposition) to investigate which phenomenon contributes more to business cycles fluctuations. Unfortunately, results do not enable to draw a straightforward conclusion. It seems that both phenomena play a certain role.

Early eneolithic in central Bohemia with reference to site Prague - Krč
Sledovány byly typické znaky, charakterakteristické nálezy i diskutované otázky jednotlivých kultur a příslušných nálezových skupin.

Inductive logic and the Vienna circle
Mach, Štěpán ; Peregrin, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Childers, Tim (referee)
The subject of this work is inductive logic as a connection of two concepts - probability and induction - which was developed by members of the Vienna Circle and their colleagues. After historical introduction the concepts of induction and probability, two main conceptions of inductive logic are presented: Hans Reichenbach's conception based on the frequency interpretation of probability and Rudolf Carnap's conception based on the logical interpretation. Karl Popper criticism of this conceptions and his own conception of corroboration is also discussed.

Biomechanics of pedaling as a determinant for the performance in the cycling part in the triathlon
Svatoš, Václav ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Tittle: Biomechanics of pedaling as a determinant for the performance in the cycling part in the triathlon Objective: Prove that mastering pedaling technique, means higher performance in triathlon. Method: For the analysis of measured data use software SPSS, in which we use the test for two independent (paired) files. Due to the characteristics of the file, we used the Mann- Whitney test, we set the significance level at 0.05. Then we set standards for the selected test using T-points. Results: On the basis of the hypotheses, we conclude that there satisticky significant difference between groups (selection, other) the test results in the men's category (sig. 0.019). The opposite results were observed in the women's category (sig. 0.683). Performance comparison groups of men and women were different and statistically highly significant (sig. 0.000). Another result of this work is to establish standards by T - points for members of the youth sports center (YSC) in the triathlon for the assessment test at maximum cadence bicycle ergometer test in Cyclus 2. Keywords: pedaling cadence, YSC, diagnostics, maximum pedaling cadence test, Mann- Whitney test

The "Non-citizen" Issue in Latvia during the EU Accession Process
Kofránková, Alžběta ; Švec, Luboš (advisor) ; Vykoukal, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to examine the attitude of the European Union to the non- citizen issue in Latvia during the accession talks and its impact on legislative changes in Latvia in this area. The thesis asks such questions as whether Latvia has fulfilled all formal and informal criteria of the accession to the European Union concerning non-citizens and whether the recommendations that were part of the European Commission's regular reports were effective. Further I would like to answer the question how important the other two international bodies were, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Council of Europe, and to what extent the European Union was dependent on their recommendations. Using primary and secondary sources, I will try to show that the main aim of the reports was to improve the situation of non-citizens in Latvia, bringing in the standards of the European Union. Becoming a member of the European Union, Latvia has theoretically fulfilled the required conditions; the question is what the situation has been like in practice.

Common regional operational program of the EU
Šindlerová, Zuzana ; Urbánek, Václav (advisor) ; Urbánek, Václav (referee)
The impact evaluation of European regional policy's existence and performing has been often discussed but still unsolved task. The budget of European Union provides member countries with financial support to their projects which have sometimes very doubtful effect. This paper concerns about the system of grants drawing from the European structural funds within the frame of Common regional operational program. This program along with the other ones contributed to fulfillment of the regional policy's aims in the period 2004 -- 2006. The project that has been carried out within the Common regional operational program in Šternberk is analyzed on the background of development and characteristic of EU's regional (structural) policy. This analysis is focused on the criteria which are taken into account when the town applies for the grant and also on the indicators needed for an ex-post control. Finally the paper brings to light some impacts of the realized project on the life in the town and also proposes the indicators that should be followed up from now on to generate an exhaustive evaluation.

The Specifics of Geriatric Nursing Care for Trauma Patients
LUKEŠOVÁ, Lenka
The theoretical portion of this thesis, on the topic "The Specifics of Geriatric Nursing Care for Trauma Patients,,, deals with gerontology and the definition of geriatric patients in general, physical and psychological changes in old age, communication with seniors in general and communication with seniors with hearing and vision loss, the causes of trauma in seniors, and curiosities in post-traumatic nursing care for geriatric patients. Two goals were established for this thesis. The first goal was to investigate which problems nurses must overcome while treating geriatric patients in the trauma ward. For the second goal, the problems focused on by nurses when dealing with geriatric patients in the trauma ward were investigated. Quantitative research was carried out in hospitals in České Budějovice, Písek, Jindřichův Hradec and Liberec. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The questionnaire was anonymous and contained 22 questions focused on geriatric patients in general, dementia in geriatric patients, hearing loss, bowel movements, and dentition loss in patients. The questions should answer the following hypotheses: nurses perceive hearing loss as a difficult obstacle while caring for geriatric patients hospitalized in trauma wards. Nurses perceive dementia as a difficult obstacle in the care of geriatric patients hospitalized in trauma wards. Nurses working in trauma wards focus on dentition loss and the dietary troubles caused by it in geriatrics patients. Nurses working in trauma wards focus on problems with bowel movements in geriatric patients. In conclusion, it can be said that nurses perceive the care of geriatrics patients as difficult, though at the same time know it is important to address each patient individually and solve the problems associated with seniors.

Mapping the Individual Musical Experience in Post-Apartheid South Africa: A Bio-Ethnography of Township Dweller Lesiba Samuel Kadiaka
Zdrálek, Vít ; Matoušek, Vlastislav (advisor) ; Lucia, Christine Elizabeth (referee) ; Horáková, Hana (referee)
The dissertation is a biographical ethnography of an individual, ordinary musician and Mamelodi township dweller, Lesiba Samuel Kadiaka (*1962) in South Africa. It is based largely on fieldwork totalling more than 12 months conducted in five periods over six years between 2006 and 2011. It examines the possibilities of studying an average (rather than 'leading') musician ethnographically and their implications and consequences for wider ethnomusicological and South African music research. It makes a practical contribution to the wider debate about the relationship between individual, social, and cultural structures, and breaks new ground in its focus on the previously little known music and practices of Mr. Kadiaka's church, the Zion Christian Church. The research consisted mainly of ethnographic observations of various kinds of musical activities in which Mr. L. S. Kadiaka was involved in as a solo musician (songwriter and song singer) and as a member of the ZCC, on the one hand, and of deep interviews over the time span of six years, on the other. It consists of a biographical part dealing with his narratives about childhood in rural Ga-Mphahlele and his later life in Mamelodi township. Iconographic historical sources of a private nature are use too. The second part describes in three large...
