Kvasnička, Jiří ; Kubiš, Karel (referee) ; Klusáková, Luďa (advisor)
This master's thesis intends to capture the image of Japan in Czech society, which was formed in the second half of 19th century. Japan, a country previously almost unknown for European people, had transformed itself from a faraway, mysterious Far Eastem country into a world power during fifty years, which naturally resulted in change of its image in Europe. Reconstruction of historical image in certain society is dependent on sources, which had the greatest influence on view of the world of people of that time. fu this thesis, those sources are divided into two categories, "image-creating" and "image-forming". The first one is historical school textbooks of geography, which had the most significant impact on students' way of creating image of the world in their mind. fu the second category, there are newspapers, magazines, caricatures and encyc1opedias, which helped those student s form images in their adult !ife. In the first part of this thesis, I compare the image of Japan and that of China In order to highlight Japan's uniqueness and specificity, how much it was emancipated from traditional image of Asia, and how much the image was supported by facts. In the second part, I try to analyze four most important aspects of image of Japan in the Czech society at that time. First one is based on questions,...

Analysis of Profitability, Risk and Specifics of Hedge Funds
Chalupa, Martin ; Veselá, Jitka (advisor) ; Fučík, Vojtěch (referee)
The goal of this Master's Thesis is to analyze the specific characteristics of the hedge funds with a primary focus on profitability and risk of the industry, which has experienced significant growth of the value of assets under management since the beginning of the new millennium. I want to provide a realistic point of view at the whole industry, which is considered as very risky in the eyes of the public. I want to support this point of view with an analysis of the risks and profitability of hedge funds. The single types of hedge funds are compared to each other and also to other asset classes. The first chapter discusses the specifics of hedge funds, so we can easily understand what differs them from the other collective investment funds. I have briefly described the development of the whole industry, which I have supported with graphical and numerical expression. The second chapter is focused on the development of regulation of hedge funds on the US market and on the European continent. The last chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the profitability and risk of hedge funds. The output of this part is the ideal hedge fund for the potential investor.

A comparison of the legal regulation of forest protection in the Czech Republic and France

Requirements of the companies on the graduate profile - programmer
Borza, Tomáš ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Rais, Aziz (referee)
This thesis is focused on the requirements of the IT companies on the graduated students with the major field programing and their knowledge gained at the university. The importance for the universities is in the focus on the trend according which the profile of school leavers falls behind the labor market. This thesis brings the complete view on the weak side of university education thanks to the combination of the gained knowledge and requirements of the companies. The target of this thesis is to describe the profile of the graduated student, requirements of the IT companies from the historical and present point of view, point out the differences between these two approached, and suggest the possible solution of this problem. To reach this aim there were used the historical data from the researches which were worked out by the experts from the University of Economics in Prague and my own question-naires in which the experts from IT companies could express their opinions to the specified problems. On the basis of these researches there were identified that the profile of the graduated student gained at the university differ from the required profile of the labor market. The conclusion of this thesis is aiming on the description of the problems in education and the possible solution to the future.

Assessing the impact of grant projects for the management and development of the municipality or city
Kordanič, Jiří ; Homolka, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The focus of the thesis is evaluation of the influence of grant projects on the budget of Jirkov municipality in the years 2010_2014. The theoretical part presents basic information on municipal institutions including the characteristics of municipality as such and description of its sphere of activity. This introduction is then followed by a part which focuses on municipal budget and the budgeting process. The following part describes municipal revenues and expenditures, the closing account, municipal management review and the municipality's attitude to drawing of grants. The theoretical part also describes certain funding sources related to grants which were available for municipalities in the years 2010_2014 (i. e. period which this thesis focuses on). The subsequent empiric part describes economic activities of the town of Jirkov in years 2010_2014 with focus on expenditures related to investments. These expenditures are decisive in relation to the accepted grants. In the given period, grants had a significant influence on the municipal budget and to a large extent contributed to the budget preparation, and planning and implementing of investments. The work also introduces projects which contributed to the changes and development of the town in the most significant manner. The final part of the work presents an evaluation of a survey which was distributed among the inhabitants and representatives of the town and focused on their view of the changes and developments which were implemented in the town with the help of the grant projects.

Okružní problém s vyzvednutím a doručením, případová studie
Celý výpočet úlohy je inspirován okružním problémem s doručením a vyzvednutím (?Pickup and Delivery Problem?).

Study of interactions of pigments with biopolymer chitosan
Kolesa, Pavel ; Kalina, Michal (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
This master's thesis was focused on the study of interaction of some organic azo dyes (model diffusion probes) with cationic biopolymer chitosan. This interactions were realized via diffusion processes in hydrogel media based on thermoreversible agarose. The main aim was study of influence of pH of solution on the diffusion process. Interactions of used dyes are based on electrostatic character. The aminogroup of chitosan interacts with the functional group of chosen dyes (anionic sulfonic group) and thus affects the process of diffusion. The model diffusion compounds were chosen organic anionic dyes Chicago sky blue 6B (C.I. 24 410), Sirius red (C.I. 35 780) and Reactive blue 49 (C.I. 621 526). The important content of this diffusion method is a monitoring of the time progression of diffusion profile by UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The presented work follows the bachelor thesis and shows comprehensive view of the reactivity of chitosan and its behavior in different systems. Unsteady diffusion in cuvettes appears to be a universal method for the study of reactivity of biopolymers and for the study of transport processes in hydrogel media. The diffusion method is universal, easy and cheap.

Economics of Crime: Rational Offender and Moral Costs of Crime
Šilar, Milan ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (advisor) ; Gregor, Martin (referee)
Main weakness of economics of crime is that it focuses on rational offender who is isolated from society. This thesis gives overview of game theory models, which take into account possible reactions of other actors to offender`s actions. I show that some variables of crime are dependent on individual`s social environment and I analyze them using moral costs of crime, where some gains and losses from crime are interconnected between people. Two own models are presented. First model deals with aggregated crime with significant role of moral costs of crime. Second model is a modification of Inspection game which includes moral costs of crime and is than modeled using evolutionary game theory. Result of first model is higher volatility of crime than in standard models of rational offender. Crime is maximally volatile in time in the second model. There is a critical level of moral costs of crime and after reaching this level, assumptions of inspection game are violated and society converges to state with zero crime. It is demonstrated on both models that crime is a self- propagating phenomenon, because of social interactions.
