The bachelor's thesis is aimed to influences of sampled risk faktors in seniors falls. At first I focused on various definitions and kinds of falls. I also sought to clarify the most frequent and less common, often neglected risk factors of falls. I placed emphases on negative influences of seniors malnutrition, methods of risk eldery people identification and ways of prevention against falls in our country and abroad. Empirical research is based on observational study which was carried out to measure risk factors in 100 women that were older than 70 years. I also carried out the falls screening of these women. Patients were hospitalized to the General university hospital in Prague.

Rosina, Jozef ; Čelko, Alexander (advisor) ; Kolářová, Hana (referee) ; Dohnal, Karel (referee) ; Navrátil, Leoš (referee)
Skin tumors are the most common types of tumors in humans. Their incidence is steadily increasing. Increases and mortality, especially in malignant melanoma. Risk factors playing an important role in the development of skin cancer, solar radiation belong. UV spectrum of sunlight is the most important cause of skin cancer. Therefore, the degradation of the ozone layer and the associated increased levels of UV radiation reaching the world so much studied. Among other known risk factors belong phenotype of human acute intermittent sunburn, especially in children and adolescents, increased tendency to form freckles skin after exposure to sunlight and the presence of pigmented nevi. Some people may find a genetic basis. The risk of malignant melanoma is also rising in people who have a history had already been diagnosed with this disease. Significant for the possibility of skin malignancy is immunosuppression. The work is focused on statistical analysis of most of the above mentioned risk factors.

Risk factors for lung cancer
Pauk, Norbert ; Zatloukal, Petr (advisor) ; Králíková, Eva (referee) ; Malý, Marek (referee) ; Molnár, Vladimír (referee)
The objective of the fi rst part of the thesis was to estimate risk and protective factors on lung cancer risk in females, especially to study the differences in the impact of diet and physical exercise on lung cancer risk in female nonsmokers vs. smokers, and reveal interactions, if any. In a hospital based case-control study, data collected by in-person interviews from 569 female lung cancer cases and 2120 controls were analyzed using unconditional logistic regression stratifying by appropriate factors. To investigate the role of tobacco and some other known or suspected factors responsible for the risk of developing adenocarcinoma of the lung, and to compare with other cell types (squamous-, small- and large-cell cancers) in Czech women, we conducted a case-control study, this is described as a second part of the thesis. Data collected by personal interviews from 145 cases of adenocarcinoma of the lung, 221 lung cancer cases of other cell types, and 1624 controls were analyzed using unconditional logistic regression.

Predisposing factors of allergies XII.
Babrňáková, Lenka ; Jílek, Petr (advisor) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (referee)
AABBSSTTRRAACCTT BACKGROUND: Rhinitis is one of the causes of the later asthma-expansion. This disease is very vexatious and has a negative impact on the quality of life. The prevalence steadily rises not only in childhood. Many risk and protective factors that are very important for the expansion of atopic diseases and rhinitis have been described. OBJECTIVES: To compare two child populations (rhinitics and the reference sample) with different risk and protective factors influencing the expansion of rhinitis. Thanks to the recognition of the risk factor we can project relevant preventive plans and ímprove our general knowledge in this type of disease. METHODS: 3845 anonymous and structured questionnaires were distributed at the Czech basic schools. The parents filled in the questionnaires on behalf of their children. The questionnaires were supposed to find out the pregnancy conditions of a mother and the living conditions of a child during three periods (first two years of life, the 6th and the 7th year, the 12th and and 13th year). 2050 filled questionnaire were delivered and the analysis was focused on the group of 334 rhinitic children and 765 nonallergic children. We call a child as a rhinitic that has some problems, for example seasonal or all-season coryza, at least once during the followed periods....

Effect of Exchange Rate Hedging on the Performance of Collective Investment Fund
Pfeiferová, Daniela ; Valder, Antonín (advisor) ; Jiří, Jiří (referee)
Collective investment is among the fastest growing areas of investment in financial markets. Its importance within each economy is influenced by the level of development of the capital market. The beginnings of collective investment in the Czech Republic are associated with the coupon privatization in the 90s of the last century. The basic advantages of this method of investing can include risk diversification, professional portfolio management, liquidity of the investment, regulation and tax benefits. The theoretical part describes the historical development of this business in the financial market. The systematization of collective investment was proposed according to the subject of investing, the method of returns distribution to investors, the terms of investment strategy, the investor's investment profile and according to the existing legislation. Transparent classification schemes were created for particular perspectives. The analytical part of the thesis analyzes the processes used to measure the performance of mutual funds, characterization of the risks associated with collective investment and the possible ways to hedge the foreign currency exchange rate risk. The outputs of the thesis respond to two hypotheses: H1: The monthly cost to hedge the foreign exchange risk affects the monthly performance of the mutual fund on the basis of the correlation in time series. H2: Is the information on the costs of exchange rate hedging required for quality decisionmaking for a small investor (consumer).

My analysis will be based on theoretical knowledge, further on experience related to my job role as credit analyst. The aim will be to perform objective analysis of real companies and determine financial health of each of them together with their risk evaluation.

Cloud computing technology framework and reducing risks
Akrir, Khaled Ali Ahmed ; Havlíček, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Macák, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis investigates, in a qualitative way, the vectors that contribute to cloud computing risks in the areas of security, business, and compliance. The focus of this research is on the identification of risk vectors that affect cloud computing and the creation of a framework that can help IT managers in their cloud adoption process. Economic pressures on businesses are creating a demand for an alternative delivery of the model that can provide flexible payments, dramatic cuts in capital investment, and reductions in operational cost. Cloud computing is positioned to take advantage of these economic pressures with low cost IT services and a flexible payment model, but at what risk to the business? Security concerns about cloud computing are heightened and fueled by misconceptions related to security and compliance risks. Unfortunately, these security concerns are seldom, expressed quantifiably. To bring clarity to cloud computing security, compliance, and business risks, this research focuses on a qualitative analysis of risk vectors drawn from one-on-one interviews with top IT experts selected. The qualitative aspect of this research separates facts from unfounded suspicions, and creates a framework that can help align perceived risks of cloud computing with actual risks. The qualitative research was done through interviews with experts and through the survey to measure risk perceptions about cloud computing using a Likert scale. The decision-making model and the framework created by this research help to rationalize the risk vectors on cloud environments and recommend reducing strategies to bring the IT industry one step closer to a clearer understanding of the risks-tradeoffs implications of cloud computing environments.

Risk elements contamination in Kutná Hora region and possibilities of its usage in paleoenvironmental research
Horák, Jan ; Hejcman, Michal (advisor) ; Jaromír, Jaromír (referee)
The dissertation focuses on topic of using risk elements contamination as a stratigraphic marker in palaeoenvironmental research. The contamination is not studied only as itself, but is viewed as a way to analyse and interpret the sedimentary record of historical events. The contamination carries the information about its original place, its original activity, about development of the landscape. The Kutná Hora region (central Bohemia; 49°57'0.170"N, 15°15'59.877"E) is a region of important historic mining and smelting activity. The mining started in 13th century and lasted until half of 16th century. Then only sporadic attempts of renewal were made. Spatially limited mining was renewed in second half of the 20th century. Therefore, it is highly probable to find here the contaminants in the role of stratigraphic markers. In the research were used mainly As, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb, V and Zn as these are the most analysed in contamination studies performed in the region. The aims of the dissertation were to answer these questions: To characterize the contamination - Are some risk elements typical for the contamination originating from the mining and smelting? - If so, is their environmental (spatial, sedimentary) manifestation diversified? - Is possible diversity spatially related to particular landscape features or areas? - Is possible diversity connected to particular activities? To use the answers in analysis of particular sites - Is it possible to use the risk elements contamination as stratigraphic marker in fluvial sediments? - How is the interpretation of particular site influenced by the whole context of regional contamination? The core of the research is the metaanalysis of contamination data coming from region (the data obtained by our research and also from other studies). The results have brought not only basic characteristics of contamination, mainly concentrations. The crucial result was the structure of studied elemental complex. Only As, Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn are connected to contamination originating in mining and smelting. Other elements - their concentrations and spatial distributions - are uninfluenced by mining and smelting activities. More, the information about connection of As and Cd to mining and Cu, Pb and Zn to smelting was revealed. Both groups recorded with different spatial distributions. Also comparison of results by different approaches has shown that some statistical processing (clr-transformation) of such dataset was much better for interpretation than analyses of only concentrations values. We studied also the area of confluence of two rivers - Klejnárka (main river draining contaminated region), which is tributary to Labe (Elbe) river. The contamination is still recognizable here, but the diversity between contamination elements is not. The confluence of rivers strongly dilutes the contaminated material. The concentrations decrease. Also here clr-transformation of data enabled to analyse structures of contaminants spatial distribution unrecognizable by concentrations values. We performed also two vertical profiles analyses. It was shown, that it is highly risky to interpret data of such origin without the complex information about regional contamination context. It was revealed by contextual interpretation of data from one of the profiles, that there is a mixing of geochemical data coming from different statistical populations. The contamination works there as only one of the factors influencing sedimentary record. The site is therefore suitable for statistical testing of two populations mixing, outliers` detection and the like.

Underwriting of industrial risks
Víšková, Jana ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Vacek, Vladislav (referee)
Underwriting is crucial as it considers whether to take the risk to insurance or not. This thesis describes the underwriting process of industrial risks and factors that have influence on the whole process. The first part is devoted to the description of industrial risks, the assessment of current industrial risks and the development and the current state of the industrial insurance in the Czech Republic. The second part describes the different products of industrial insurance and their underwriting process, with the focus on the underwriters, their rights, duties, qualification and risk management. The final part of this thesis deals with describing the whole process to a particular business, resulting in the insurance offer and the calculation of premium.
