Valová, Veronika ; Neubert, Jiří (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis is the resul of a multi-year survey of Jihlava's historical houses owned by the city of Jihlava, which belong to the city's monument reserve. The works and surveys were created in cooperation with the city of Jihlava and the TAČR project, which deals with the issue of these houses, which are in bad conditions for a long time and despite their historical value and uniqueness they remain intact fully unused and out of public awareness. The locality of the north-eastern part of the city's historical center was chosen for a more detailed solution for this work, in connection with previous works, a detailed survey of this locality and a vision for the potential development of the area. The created concept tries to respond to the issues around important and busy streets - Benešova Street and Husova Street. At the same time, it seeks to revitalize and connect the main pedestrian route between the city's historic center and the territory with a large concentration of educational institutions - schools. The aim of the work is to point out a possible procedure in creating the concept of local development with the idea of connecting individual parts, which require an individual and sensitive approach, into a fully functional unit. A design for a parking house is included for the revitalization of this urban area. This can be use to clean Husova Street of cars, parked on the sidewalk in the street and create a pedestrian zone. In this zone, there is an important route, the path through Jan Masaryk Park, which is in a much worse condition than the renovated Gustav Mahler Park nearby. To improve the environment, the design also includes landscaping and new idea for Jan Masaryk Park. The main and key concept is the reconstruction of historic houses owned by the city of Jihlava, houses Benešova 20 and Benešova 22 as a student point and the houses Husova 29 and Husova 31 as student housing. The concentration of schools, is primarily an opportunity to create a favorable environment for students in Jihlava, for personal and career development place with the possibility of accommodation, work and places to spend their free time. In general, it is beneficial to have the student category in cities and Jihlava, as a regional city, has the potential of a student city.
Completion of the city block - Křížová street
Wintner, Roman ; Kaštánková, Jana (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
As part of my bachelor thesis, I deal with design of an urban and conceptual solution for part of city quarter Staré Brno, specifically with the gap between Křížová Street and the newly designed complex Kras. In the design, I take into account the modification of the traffic situation, which was influenced by the second awarded proposal in the idea competition Mendlovo náměstí (2018). An equal part of the project is creation of an architectural study for two student houses and adjacent related institutions within the solved area. I decided for the design of student space because of current insufficient capacities, equipments of university dormitories and trend in rising rental prices of flats in Brno. In my work I come up with a closer analysis of the area, proposing a conceptual solution, where I also pay attention to the existing historical listed house. I deal with its future within the complex on idealogical level. The concept of the complex is partly based on the historical appearance of Křížová Street. I deal in detail with the concept of two student objects, which have their own character, but at the same time they try to come together and form one functional unit. It is important to fit into the character of the street and the overall atmosphere of the Staré Brno quarter (in the case of the building on Křížová Street) but in the current design without losing own identity. Equally important is the playful design of student accommodation, where I take into account the benefits of collective accommodation and the life at student’s dormitories. I try to make a contemporary, creative, non-limiting object, providing space for the individualities, which students definitely are.

Vlček, Marek ; Mašek, Radomír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma project is resolving the possibilities of designing contemporary buildings into the historical context of city centre. The emphasis is aimed on urban integration of new volumes into the present city structure and its genius loci. The result of the design should be buildings with specific character and clear dispositions using quality materials. The area is located near the city centre of Hradec Králové and is defined by the streets Comenius, I.Herrmann and Hradecká. It is directly adjacent to the historic city center. In the middle of the area is flowing The Orlice River, which divides area into two separately designed zones, communicates with each other. The presence of the river is considered to be a distinctive urban-forming element that needs to be used and promoted in the city. One of the characteristics of the site is the poor state of public spaces, several significant barriers, whether moving, operational or visible and urban unconnected areas or unreasonable used areas and buildings. The surrounding of The Orlice River, flowing through the center of Hradec Králové, is from near future very important, but at the same time hard to handle. All three facts - the city center plot, the presence of the river, but also the neglected public spaces - leading this area rehabilitated, revitalized and made accessible to people.
