Climate and settlement dynamics based on comparison of dendroclimatic and archaeological data of South Bohemian holocene.
VOBEJDA, Libor
The environment is influenced by the ever changing system of interacting forces. Changes in the climate are amongst many crucial factors that determine life conditions on Earth. All organisms have to cope with the environmental changes and humans are no exception. This thesis is focused on description of climate changes during the Holocene geological epoch. The climate is delineated based on proxy datasets. South Bohemian proxy data, mainly tree ring chronology, are used as primary sources for the reconstruction of past climate. These proxy datasets are complemented by various climatic reconstructions covering the area of central Europe. In order to assess the connection of past human societies to climate, a comparison between climate and settlement proxies is conducted. As an example of the settlement proxies we can list relative population density and location of dwellings. Target populations are agricultural prehistoric and historic societies.

Agricultural settlement - Mountain pastoral cooperatives in the district of Trutnov from 1945 to 1949
Nováková, Tamara ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor) ; Holubec, Stanislav (referee) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
The history of mountain pastoral cooperatives 1945-1949 has not yet been sufficiently elaborated and reflected in the whole range of issues, not even at the national level, let alone at the level of each border political district or otherwise defined region. The presented text will focus on the genesis of mountain pasture cooperatives at the national level, in the political post-war context, including the fundamental theoretical background, and will describe in particular the implementation of six cooperatives in the Giant Mts (Krkonoše in Czech) and Giant Mts foothills, in particular the Trutnov political district. In the form of a probe, the implemented HPDs in the Prachatice district will be described for comparison. Comparison of the theoretical plans of the Ministry of Agriculture with concrete implementation in the complicated reality of the various ways of re-locating post-war sites in the Trutnov district brings a new perspective firstly on the evaluation of the success of the mountain pastoral cooperatives or on the limits and possibilities of their success. Secondly, it presents pastoral cooperatives as a key player in the transformation of the cultural landscape of some localities affected by them. At the same time, the study describes the exklusive possibility for grassland promoters to...

Podzimková, Pavlína ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
For my diploma thesis I chose the topic Transfer of Germans from the Šumperk region and its reflection in Moravský sever weekly. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the media discourse of the expulsion of Sudeten Germans from the Šumperk region and the settlement of this area by the Czech population. For this purpose the thesis analyzes the content of Moravský sever weekly in 1945 and 1946. I chose Moravský sever weekly for the analysis as an important weekly within the region. The first part of the thesis deals with the development of Czech-German relations from the middle of the 19th century until the end of the Second World War. In next chapters I will try to briefly describe the expulsion of Sudeten Germans from Czechoslovakia and the settlement of the borderland by the Czech population. Finally, the theoretical part deals with the description of the Šumperk region and its history and demography with focus on relations between the Czechs and the Germans. The second part of the thesis presents conclusions of the content analysis. The media portrayal of the Germans in Moravský sever weekly was mostly negative and their expulsion was perceived as necessary. Conclusions of the analysis also show which topics were most frequently mentioned and which language and narrative techniques were...

The Enforcement of Court Settelements
Šamlot, Jan ; Frintová, Dita (advisor) ; Vyskočilová, Silvia (referee)
The Enforcement of Court Settlements Abstract The topic of this thesis is the enforcement of court settlements. Court settlement is an institute, which, although it is a traditional part of civil procedure, does not receive enough attention. The absence of any detailed analysis of the court settlement is even more surprising considering that currently chosen structure of the court settlement in the Czech Code of Civil Procedure (OSŘ) is very problematic and raises the great amount of the theoretical questions, from which some of them are capable of causing troubles in practice. At the same time, the problematic aspects increase also in terms of the enforcement of the court settlement. With regard to the above, this thesis primarily maps the historical development of the court settlement in the legal territory of today's Czech Republic in order to clarify the basic principles and better understanding of this institute at present. After the historical part, the thesis deals with the court settlement as an institute and his positive legal definition in order to point out the interpretation problems in certain aspects and also to mention their possible consequences. Furthermore, the thesis presents possible solutions to the selected problems and simultaneously, where appropriate, compares the legislation with...
