Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion

The dissertation project Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion deals with the situation of Roma in Czech rural municipalities. The starting motivation for the author's exploration of this topic has been information about the growing number of segregated localities in rural areas. In the local public discourses within the peripheral areas, this phenomenon has often been explained as the consequence of poverty-driven urban-rural migration. However, as the migration of socially excluded populations into disadvantaged areas stirs a lot of fears and negative emotions that provide a fertile ground for the spread of rumours, the author's preparatory research soon revealed that it is necessary to carefully distinguish between myths and reality. The author's desire to understand the complex processes behind the emergence of new Roma localities in rural areas required a combination of working methods: The author analysed the national policy and regulatory framework and realized empirical research in five micro-regions in different parts of the Czech Republic. The Importance of Preschool Education System as a Tool for Harmonization of Family and Working Life of Mothers

The diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the system of pre-school care and the posi- tion of women with small children on the labor market in the Czech Republic. The purpose of this thesis is to find out whether the insufficient capacity of pre-school care facilities has a negative im- pact on the employment of Czech women and which other determinants can affect the employment of women with small children. The analysis uses an individual data from the Labor Force Survey in 2013 supported by data from the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. At first, this thesis deals with demographic development of the population after 1990. Following is the definition of pre-school care system in the Czech Republic and a description of the development of the availability of pre-school care services. Diploma thesis is then devoted to the situation of women with small children in the labor market and to the potential negative impacts associated with the limited possibilities for harmonizing family and work life balance. The Factors Affecting the Low Numbers of Women Working as IT Professionals in Czech Republic

The Diploma Thesis "The Factors Affecting the Low Numbers of Women Working as IT Professionals in Czech Republic" does focus on the issue of disproportion of men and women working in IT field in the Czech labor market. The theoretical background reaching up to 1980's is presented on the first pages . I slightly come across the issue of low numbers of women working as IT professionals in the Czech Republic, but I also briefly comment on international findings for solution of this situation. The important part of the text is the description of current situation of the Czech Republic labour market. Last but not least I debate on factors influencing womens decisions when choosing future profession and what stops them from choosing the information technology field. Part of the thesis is also survey which provides detailed information of the experience of women working as IT professionals in Czech Republic. The theoretical point of the thesis is the gender concept, according to this concept the skills and abilities of women and men aren't biologically given as we often stereotype, but they are formed socially.

The Labour Market Assertion of Persons with Physical Disability

The thesis deals with the application of persons with disabilities in the labor market. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the notion of disability and classification of body defects. Explains the concept of labor market, human capital and protected labor market. Also deals with the instruments to support the employment of people with disabilities and related legislation on this matter. Further focuses on barriers in the access of persons with disabilities on the labor market. The aim of the practical part of the reply to the main research question: what kinds of barriers are faced by persons with disabilities in finding employment on the open labor market? This bachelor thesis deals with the immigrant integration into the labour market in Sweden. It aims to show and analyze the agenda of the main state actors, which play a significant role in the process of integration into the labour market and subsequently show the possibility of complementing state institutions with non-state organizations in those areas where it is beneficial. In addition, the work tries to show ways of communication of state and non-state actors with newly arrived immigrants.
Women coming back to the labour market after maternity or parental leave

The main theme of this thesis is the issue of the transition between motherhood and employment, focusing on the different strategies of each woman and the reasons for their choice. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze factors influencing women's decision to return to the labour market after maternity or parental leave. Primary emphasis is put on a detailed description of the motives and barriers influencing the decision to return to the labour market, through the actual story of each woman. The objectives were achieved by two methods of data collection. Those were quantitative research in the form of questionnaire surveys and qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews. The interviewed stories offer a more detailed insight into women's life experiences, tailoring their decision to return to the labour market in connection with their motherhood.
The role of NGO's in the process of implementation of innovative projects, and their outcomes

The thesis addresses subject of innovative projects of NGOs in the field of parental support to return to the labour market after maternity leave. The main purpose of the thesis is to deliver a report about the role of the NGO in the process of implementation of innovative projects by using case studies. The objective of the thesis is to identify outcomes and level of innovation of these projects on the basis of testimonies of active participants. The theoretical part of the thesis describes NGOs and their basic functions, definition of innovation, and definition of social innovation. Another part of the thesis discusses issues related to the return to the labour market after maternity leave, family politics in the Czech Republic, and its support in the form of the Structural Funds of the European Union. Main findings of the research is that NGOs in the Czech Republic have mainly linking function between individuals and corporations. Networking enables mutual exchange of information and experience. It is a highly important contribution of these projects. The role of unions in promoting gender equality in employment relationships

Diploma thesis is focused on the issue of gender equality in labour relations in order to assess what role the trade unions can or could play in promoting gender equality. The theoretical part introduces the basic concepts of gender issues and outlines the historical development of unionization in the Czech lands. Attention is paid to legislative standards governing the conditions unionization and analysis of legal measures to promote equality in labour relations. The research focuses on analysis of the texts of collective agreements, and analyses semi- structured interviews performed with representatives of trade unions and the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women at Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions.
