The meaning of life of children living in a children's home

Theoretical part focuses on children's Home as an institution and on social work in children's Home. It describes possible causes for placing children in constitutional care and socially-legal children protection. It also describes family and related di- sorders of parenthood and families. It's mentioned here the meaning of life and questions about the purpose of existence as viewed by Viktor E. Frankl. The theore- tical part characterizes working in direct client care and children age categories, es- pecially preschool age, school age and adolescence. The deprivation of child related to placement in children's home is also described at the end of theoretical part. Practical part concentrates on qualitative research with the goal of mapping ideas of children about life from the view of caretakers. It processes structured inter- views with open questions of four participants, then it separates the children ideas into age groups, where the reader can even see how the ideas have evolved with age.
The preparation of children from foster homes for a self-reliant life

The author in her bachelor's thesis will map whether and how children from children's homes are being prepared for their own lives. In the theoretical section, basic theoretical knowledge about the importance of the family for socializing and the proper development of the child and confronted with a situation where the family resigns from childcare and the state assumes this role, will be processed. Legislation on surrogacy will be also described here. The practical part of the work will be a case study of the children's home, the aim will be to deeply examine and show how children are prepared for independent life and eventually compare whether these practices are differed from the past. The methods of inquiry and data analysis are used for data collection. The facultative sample will consist both children and employees of a specific children´s home.
View of professional public on children's homes and foster care

The work deals with suitability of children's homes and foster care. It is considered based on their abilities to fulfil psychological needs of children and minors. In addition, the work deals with the possible way of these two forms of substitutional care on affecting mental development of their wards. Children's home, foster care and their historical evolution up to the present form in our country are described in the first half of this work. Furthermore, the term family and parenthood and their possible forms in the past and present are described. Children's and minors' needs, particularities of individual development phases in childhood and maturing, are described in this work as well. The suitability of children's homes and foster care, based on opinions of the authors of professional publications and ideas of professional public, are mentioned in the second part of the work. In conclusion, a part of this work commits to the way electronic mass media deal with this issue and which point of view they transfer to the non-professional public. The main result of the diploma thesis is that these three groups predominantly prefer the foster care to children's home. Primarily for the reason of real family environment which, unlike the children's home, the foster care can provide. Despite this fact, these groups are aware of the necessity of children's homes which, in some cases, could be a more convenient alternative to a birth family.
Special pedagogical legislationin the daily life of special education clientele

The bachelor thesis focuses on the legislation involved in the child's institutional upbringing (ÚV) from the time when the Authority of The Child's Social and Legal Protection (OSPOD) takes over. Special attention is paid to the question of which legislative departments are associated with the child integrally and most frequently. Attention is also paid to the client's interaction with the outside world (layman community). The work is focused on clients from children's homes, as an example of institutional care. The first goal of the bachelor thesis is to map the current legislation concerning the performance of institutional care and facilities for the performance of institutional care, ascertaining the potential contradiction between the letter of law and the reality of life in facilities of the Central Committee. The second aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of staying in institutional facilities (children's homes) on the clients' further life after the end of the institutional care regulation itself. In the bachelor thesis the research is realized by qualitative strategy with case study design. The data collection technique is semi-structured interview, direct standardized observation, and document analysis. The interviews are designed to respond appropriately to research questions. Wellbeing support for children in a children's home

The thesis entitled The Well-being of children in children's homes starts with description of characteristics and legislation of institutional education, specifically in children's home. The thesis introduces negative influences in childhood and tries to describe their origin and influence on the child's life. The thesis contains a relatively new concept of well-being, which characterizes important areas of life. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe and characterize how the competencies related to areas of well-being are developed directly in the children's home and what are the barriers to fulfilling well-being. Nine respondents who work and interact directly with children in a children's home described the development and barriers to the development of these competencies. All respondents agreed that a big barrier to fulfill well-being is an unsuitable environment and rooms and other spaces where children live. Furthermore, they often mentioned insufficient social interaction with life outside the children's home, mental and psychological disorders that prevent children from further development, the absence of role models and traumatic experiences that children carry from the time they were in their families. Upbringing of children in the facilities for providing institutional education

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the influence of the concept of the institutional care in children's homes on clients. The introduction chapter provides the description of the psychological condition of the clients and how it is influenced by the institutional upbringing. The following chapters deal with the realization of the state education in children's homes and with the description of the system of the intitutional care and its development. The research has found out how a group of clients evaluates the changes in the concept of the institutional care and how this changes come into operation in their own life. The research was based on the immediate observation, analysis of the records and conversations with clients. The final evaluation of the research presents recommendations for further development of the improvement of the children care in the institutional care.
Bibliotherapy with abandoned children

Bachelor thesis "Bibliotherapy with children in children's homes" is about using the bibliotherapy for children in children's homes. The main target is sum up all theoretic information of bibliotherapy and children's home and then makes a suggestion of suitable bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature for children, who live in children's homes. This project should use as a inspiration for specialist and all people, who would like to use bibliotherapy with abandoned children. The secondary target is to determine the availability of literature and materials related to bibliotherapy. The project is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with bibliotherapy, its theory and examples of application in practice in abroad and in the Czech Republic. The second chapter focuses on the children's homes and in particular the problems of children, who place there. The final chapter presents a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques, tailored directly to the specific problems of children in children's homes. The result is a proposal bibliotherapeutics techniques and literature focused on specific problems of children in children's homes.
