Šabatková, Eva ; Míšková, Alena (advisor) ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (referee)
Title: The Vranov Dam and the village of Bítov in the context of 20th century history Author: Bc. Eva Šabatková Department: History & History Didactics Department Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Alena Míšková, Ph.D. Abstract: This thesis is focused on the construction of the Vranov Dam and its consequences. It describes a development of dams both in the Czech republic and in the world. It also analyses reasons for a regulation of the Dyje river, possible alternatives and historical events leading to development of hydroengineering structure near the village of Vranov nad Dyjí. The paper is also focused on people's lives in the village of Bítov, which had to be flooded with regards to construction of the dam. Proposed alternatives of architectonical solution of the new village Bítov, which was built as a replacement for inhabitants of "old" Bítov, are presented, as well as the life of Georg Haas von Hasenfels, the last owner of the Bítov Castle and its abutting domain. The impact of the Vranov Dam on life in today's Bítov is mentioned and discussed at the end of the paper. Keywords: The Vranov Dam, development, Bítov, water service, Georg Haas von Hasenfels

Not so "Traditional" Healing: Constructions of Illness Reality and Spirit Possession in a Rapidly Changing Society in Venda, South Africa
Řezáčová, Vendula ; Kandert, Josef (advisor) ; Kotalova, Jitka (referee) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee)
The present thesis "Not so 'Traditional' Healing: Constructions of Illness Reality and Spirit Possession in a Rapidly Changing Society in Venda, South Africa" aims to analyze socio-cultural and political aspects of 'traditional' healing which had been the focus of fieldwork of the author in 'Venda', South Africa (in the period between 2004-6). In the first section of the thesis the author has shown that the medical concepts and symbols marked as 'traditional' have not formed a closed, time-less system. On the contrary, they have reflected and shaped far-reaching socio-cultural changes in the post-apartheid dispensation characterised by the neo-liberal market reforms, congealing of socio-economic inequalities, transformations of gender identities and the politics of 'tradition' and identity. 'Traditional healing' has thus been constituted through a constant process of (re)invention of symbols and practices which have referred to the 'Venda past' while aiming to delineate boundaries of 'tradition' in relation to biomedicine. The second section of the thesis has focussed on the phenomenon of ancestor spirit possession which has also constituted the means through which 'traditional' healers have been recruited and their claims to knowledge and healing power have been legitimized. In contrast to the...

Kneser function by the transformation of the differential boundary value problem into the integrodifferential equations
Hortel, Milan
Some problems by the analysis of the dynamic of mechanical systems lead on the solution of nonlinear integrodifferential equations. The Kneser functions are by the constructions of the kernels in the form of Gree´s function discussed.

The objectification of therapeutical methods used for improvement of the deep stabilizng spinal system
Malátová, Renata ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee) ; Marešová, Dana (referee)
5 Summary So far, no commercially used device, capable of evaluating the condition of the deep stabilizing spine system (DSSS), has appeared on the market. Therefore, a so called muscle dynamometer (SD01, SD02), has been constructed that enables to reveal a possible dysfunction of the DSSS. During a six-week-rehabilitation-course, aimed at correcting the body posture and strengthening the DSSS muscles, a statistically significant change (p<0.001) between the values of input and output measurements of the chosen group tested has been obtained. Correctness of the approach to objectify the initial state of the patient and his progress during the treatment was shown by the completed measurements. The effectiveness of therapeutical training was confirmed. Based on positive experience from SD01, a new version of muscle dynamometer, SD02, was constructed. Measurements by SD02 were to establish the condition of DSSS (frontal spine stabilization) by a lay-sit test repeatedly from the test battery UNIFITTEST 6-60 and by the diaphragm test. Measurements were conducted on 45 samples. Basic somatic measurements were performed and then measurements with the SD02 were conducted during the diaphragm test and UNIFITTEST. For comparison of the values the pairing t-test was used (normal data distribution was verified by the...

Physical mapping of centromeric and terminal markers of linkage groups in Xenopus tropicalis
Tůmová, Lucie ; Krylov, Vladimír (advisor) ; Nedvídek, Josef (referee)
Xenopus tropicalis belongs together with its related genus Xenopus laevis to important model organisms on the field of study of developmental processes. In comparison to well introduced models (i.e. Melanogaster, Mus etc.) for Xenopus tropicalis there is an absence of linkage and physical maps that have invaluable importance for the identification of developmentally relevant genes, including their syntheny with human. Currently, there exists provisional linkage map constructed by scientific group of Department of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Huston, Texas, USA. It is constituted of ten linkage groups (LG1-LG10) and six linkage clusters (A-F) composed by total of 1713 Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) polymorphic markers. The laboratory of developmental biology, Charles University in Prague, participates in completing the linkage map by physical mapping of chosen polymorphic markers on chromosomes Xenopus tropicalis, which led to allocation of each linkage group and cluster to the right chromosome and to assessment of the orientation in most of them. The physical mapping of terminal markers will show us, how far chromosomes are covered with linkage groups and which areas still remain unmapped. The cooperative laboratory from National Institute for Medical Research, London, UK, originated a list of...

The analysis of the agricultural insurance in the Czech insurance market
Klečáková, Eva ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor)
The agricultural insurance represents a specific segment of the insurance market. It is caused by high risks in the agricultural production, low interest from insurers to provide this service and by the necessity of state subsidies. The first part of the thesis explains, how is the agricultural insurance constructed, which risks influence the agricultural production and how the state participation functions. The second part is focused on a premium written. This part includes an analysis of its development and of the position of agricultural insurance in the Czech insurance market. The last part offeres a schedule of products of agricultural production provided on the insurance market in the Czech Republic.

Variability of meteorological processes in stratosphere in relation to vertical ozone profile
Motl, Martin ; Kalvová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Halenka, Tomáš (referee)
There is studied an influence of dynamical processes in atmosphere on the total ozone and its vertical profile in this work. There are described known atmospherical processes with influence on ozone variability and statistical methods used in the work at first. Then is studied connection between ozone and tropopause height. There are also monitored time trends of ozone and tropopauzse height. There are computed modes of variability for the field of the geopotential in pressure levels from 500 to 10 hPa in the next part of the work and there is studied a statistical connection between computed modes and ozone. There is constructed linear regression model from time trend and computed modes. This model describes considerable part of the ozone variability and there are discussed possibilities of use some similar model for prediction of the total ozone in the resume.

the accessibility rating of electronic shops
Bourek, Josef ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Červenková, Marie (referee)
The main objective is to test the accessibility of electronic shops. The tested e-shops belong among small ones and not well-known. It's supposed that the accessibility of that e-shops is worse than the bigger ones have. First of all before testing the accessibility there are mentioned some important facts about accessibility. There are explained the conceptions of accessibility and web accessibility. There are mentioned people who suffer from some handicaps and because of it they have problems with working on the internet. There are described a few methodologies that are used for testing the web accessibility. One methodology was constructed from those methodologies. The metodology containes only a few check points because of the limited range of this work. After constructing the methodology several smaller e-shops were chosen and tested for their accessibilities. After the testing the results are interpreted and compared with other results.

The Prophecy of Neferty in Context
Honeš, Daniel ; Landgráfová, Renata (advisor) ; Bareš, Ladislav (referee)
(in English): This thesis deals with an Egyptian literary piece known under its modern name The Prophecy of Neferty, whose full text is preserved on papyrus Hermitage 1116 B from Dynasty 18. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, a proper translation of the text along with its egyptological transliteration is presented. This translation is followed by an analysis using the interlinear glossing system, which is presented in the addendum of the thesis. Herewith, the text of the Prophecy of Neferty is open to a broader linguistic audience. In the second, textual part, a detailed analysis of this literary composition is given. The interpretation is performed from both linguistic and socio-historical perspectives, with an emphasis on the First Intermediate Period and the Middle Kingdom, as well as the international relationships between Egypt and the Syria-Palestine in these observed periods. In the interpretation, an emphasis is placed on on main characters appearing in the Prophecy of Neferty, problematic grammatical constructions as well as selected lexical items, whose interpretation influences the perception of the piece as a whole. In addition, this thesis concerns questions of the authorship of the Prophecy of Neferty and its relation to other literary compositions. The Prophecy...
