Public transport in Liverpool

This thesis is about public transport in Liverpool, Merseyside. It involves history of Leverpool, history of transport system and future projects in this area. First part is basic introduction- description on Transport in general. Second part involves plans and ideas how Liverpool City Council planned to Public Transportation and inner areas in Liverpool. Third part introduces concession in UK and especially on Merseyside, Deregulation in UK and Bus wars during and after the Deregulation. Fourth part is about certain companies, providing public transport. Cooperation between them, and further services. Future projects and plans are introduced in the last part of thesis.

Means of communicating the value of corporate information systems

Ačkoliv je funkce podnikových informačních systémů v dnešní době nezastupitelná, povědomí o významu a hodnotě těchto systémů se stále drží na nízké úrovni. Vedení podniků má o hodnotě přinášené informačním systémem svou vlastní představu, která jen málokdy odpovídá skutečnosti. Je tedy zřejmé, že je potřeba tuto hodnotu do podniku komunikovat. Tak se do budoucna může uvolnit obrovský potenciál, který informační systémy a technologie dnešnímu podnikání mohou přinést. Tato práce vychází z dřívějších výzkumů v různých oblastech ? interní komunikace, rozhraní podniku a informačního systému, interní marketing informačních služeb, soulad podnikové a IT funkce a měření efektivity informačních systémů. Na základě výsledků studií z těchto oblastí jsou identifikovány faktory, které mají na vnímanou hodnotu podnikového informačního systému vliv. V závěru je uveden souhrn všech identifikovaných faktorů. K těmto jednotlivým faktorům jsou pak navrženy některé způsoby, jak je vhodně nastavit či ovlivnit pro dosažení pozitivního efektu.

Relationship between Personal Characteristics and Look in Homosexual Males.

The diploma thesis focused on male sexual orientation from various points of view, and in particular, several aspects of masculinity-femininity and partner preferences. Theoretical part of the thesis aimed at masculine and feminine personality, facial and vocal traits, as well as attractiveness of these traits for other individuals. The second part of the thesis consists in an empirical experiment where lay judges rated attractiveness, masculinity-femininity, and sexual orientation of facial photos and vocal recordings of homosexual and heterosexual target men. Other method used in the study was a set of questionnaires and standardized psychological tests focusing on gender nonconformity and other traits that were presumed to relate to male sexual orientation.

Bank efficiency and its relation to market competition : European perspective

Accelerated capital market globalization has led to further deepening of banking sector integration. Wide consolidation of European banking markets resulted in increased competition, however there are still efficiency differences within the global banking sector. Although economic theory postulates that increased competition in financial markets should lead to lower cost and enhanced efficiency, recent studies indicate that the relationship is more complex and not inevitably straightforward. As both banking competition and efficiency is of high relevance for economic development, it is crucial to determine the impact of recent structural changes on the competitive environment and banks' performance. In the theoretical part, we consider different methodological issues in measuring competition and efficiency. Within the empirical section, we employ the SFA to estimate efficiency scores for the selected EU credit institutions and derive corresponding measure of competition based on Panzar-Rosse methodology. By further research, we elaborate on the link between competition and efficiency.

THEATRE IN CULTURE LIFE OF COUNTRYSIDE

The essential of this bachelor thesis ?Theatre in Culture Life of Countryside? is the description of 7 relevant studies excluding Czech urban areas that have at the most 4.000 populations. The work is concerned on a position and function of theatre on a culture platform of gathering townspeople. It is also focused on fruitfulness of described activities like the community relation to culture life, influence of traditional habits, charisma and motivation of an organizing leader, genius loci, time management etc.
The frame is introduced by contemplation limiting the space for a perception of country, its´ culture touch and values. Large chapter of relevant studies gives elementary information about selected municipalities and describes their culture life. Each chapter is directed to different theatrical form that comes out from countryside background. The conclusion shaped common units of culture life in excluded range and lump them into sententious know-how.
Results of this work and examples of present-days activities in small locations can be inspiring material for professional and amateur theatre work or in other artistic activities, not even on countryside.

Eliptic indexing of multidimensional databases

In this work variation of R-tree, which hierarchically partition indexed space using minimum volume covering ellipsoids (MVCE) instead of usually used minimum bounding rectangles, is presented. Main aspects, which determine R-tree index structure performance, are studied from the available resources at the beginning. Base on this studies "e-Rtree" (ellipsoid R-tree) is designed. Afterward algorithms of MVCE construction are carefully analyzed, as the choice of the algorithm is crucial for the efficiency of indexing and retrieval. At the end of the work, eR-tree implementation over ATOM framework is presented along with experiments done on synthetic and real data sets.

Je vodrais décrire tous les aspectes de ceux relations- a partir d amitié, puis facilement etre ensemble, vivre en couple et en fin le mariage- et les trucs avec ces aspectes elués (les enfants et leur formation, les finances en famille,…). Par rapport a grande l imense de ce sujet, je vais me concentrer sur la vue psychologique.

Obesity and schizophrenia: Motivation for Wellness program participation

The Wellness Programme is the first psycho-educational programme for the people suffering from psychotic illnesses in the CR. Its main task is to educate these people about the healthy lifestyle, especially the healthy diet and the importance of physical exercise, and the obesity prevention. It is a group programme led by trained instructors, mostly by nurses. The recent surveys have brought positive results: the programme leads to weight loss in patients, reduces social isolation and is very popular among the patients. In the terrain questionnaire survey we have 1) mapped the physical health among the people with schizophrenia, and 2) explored their satisfaction with the programme. We studied the Wellness Programme in the CR spring 2008 participants. The file consisted of 27 questioned, 11 men and 16 women. The average age was 37 years, average BMI was 30, 9. The patients suffered from physical diseases, most often from hypertension and stomach problems. The participants appreciated most of all practical instructions and the possibility of meeting people with the same complaints. Generally, the organization suited well, the programme got the total mark 2.04 (1 best, 5 worst). Sociological aspects of divorce and its predictors

Rozvod představuje legitimní způsob ukončení manželství za života obou manželů. Které faktory se však podílejí na rozhodování o ukončení manželství? Odpověď na tuto otázku lze hledat v individuálních osobnostních vlastnostech manželů, jejich sociodemografických charakteristikách nebo ve společensko - strukturních faktorech. Tato práce se nezabývá prediktory rozvodu na celospolečenské úrovni ani individuálními charakteristikami rozvádějících se manželů. Zaměřuje se na zkoumání objektivně poznatelných a tedy měřitelných prediktorů rozvodu, které jsou spojeny s individuální životní dráhou jedince, se sociodemografickými charakteristikami a s postoji k rodině a rolím muže a ženy v ní. V této práci je nejprve pojednáno o teoretických i empirických výsledcích zahraničních studií provedených na téma prediktorů rozvodu. O čtyřech z prediktorů je pojednáno podrobně. Jsou jimi: věk při vstupu do manželství, předmanželské soužití, pracovní participace žen a ekonomické faktory. Platnost výsledků zahraničních studií je dále testována na datech pro Českou republiku. Kapitola 6 je originálním příspěvkem k tematice prediktorů rozvodu.

The Thirty Years War in History Textbooks from the year 1869 to the year 2004

Cílem této diplomové práce je porovnat výklady třicetileté války v učebnicích dějepisu ve zvolených časových úsecích mezi léty 1869-2004, tj. v období, ve kterém v českých zemích došlo k několika zásadním politickým a společenským změnám. Při členění sledovaného období na jednotlivé časové úseky, resp. kapitoly, jsou jako mezníky použity školské zákony a přelomové události našich dějin. Školské zákony zpravidla měnily studijní systém, délku školní docházky apod. a byly také odrazem politické situace ve státě. Určovaly i nové výchovné cíle a osnovy jednotlivých předmětů, a tím nepřímo ovlivňovaly textovou podobu učebnic. Určitý vliv měly na obsah učebnic i závěry ze soudobých prací historiků. Historiografickým výzkumem se však zabývám pouze okrajově, hlavním pramenem zkoumání jsou česky psané učebnice dějepisu. Je zřejmé, že prezentace třicetileté války v dějepisných učebnicích byla ovlivňována mnoha faktory, které jsem se pokusil v předložené studii popsat a charakterizovat.
