The Evolution of the EU's Strategic Thinking in Relation to Russia: The Factor of the Eastern Enlargement of the European Union
Gusačenko, Irina ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Litera, Bohuslav (referee)
This paper examined the development of the Strategic thinking of the European Union towards Russia from the beginning of the 1990 s till 2004. The paper recognized the existence of the three main strategies: bilateral one, multilateral and special one. The first strategy is characterized by giving the priority directly to the relationship between Russia and the member states of the EU. The Russian Federation neglected the existence of the European Union as an independent actor on the international scene during the 90 s. The specific example of such a behavior could be the relationship between Russia and Germany. This fact makes it more difficult for the EU to promote the coherent strategy of the European Union as a whole towards Russia. Due to the disgruntlement and frequent clashes between Russia and the EU, the two entities decided to use the so called special strategy in their relations. This strategy is based namely on the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and on the Concept of the Four Common Spaces which began to be developed in 2000. The Union's eastern enlargement paved the way for the qualitative change in the strategic thinking of the European Union. Polish government proposed new concept, so called "Eastern dimension" of the European Union. This initiative gave the impulses for the evolution...

Techniques of teaching general English vocabulary at secondary school level
Nohlová, Kateřina ; Nováková, Soňa (referee) ; Mothejzíková, Jarmila (advisor)
The starting point of this thesis is the author's personal experience with English education at Czech secondary schools. Its task is to point out several concrete problems of this area, especially ln the domain of vocabulary teaching. The paper does not alm at providing its readers with universal solutions of the problematic issues. Our purpose is rather to put emphasis on the wide range of possibilities of approaching the situation. Since one of our tenets was to cover the real current conditions, we decided not to formulate many initial assumptions. Instead of doing that we reI ied fully on the results of our research as a basis for further considerations. The problems of English (vocabulary) teaching have been observed at two distinct Czech grammar schools resulting in two main types of their possible causes. First of them is undoubtedly recent rush social development. Numerous changes in Czech society have been connected first with the Velvet Revolution in 1989, later with the growing influence of the European Union. Out of these shifts, the opportunity of personal contact with English speaking countries is the most significant. Further, Czech learners can profit from easier access to current foreign educational materials, TV and radio programs in English and original English literary and music...

Prevention of immobilization syndrome in elderly hospitalized at the Department of aftercare in the context of the multidisciplinary approach.
KRÁLOVÁ SOMMEROVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis focuses on an actual topic in the care of the elderly. It is prevention of immobilization syndrome of the elderly in context of a multidisciplinary approach. The thesis is focused on the elderly hospitalized at an after-care unit. In the introduction to the theoretical part the current state of a quality of an elderly life is assessed. Subsequently particular terms related to old age and senescence are defined. An inseparable part of the assessment of the quality of the elderly life is the classification of self-sufficiency and efficiency. Here the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health is mentioned as a meaningful tool for the availability of social services, but also as a clinical tool. The definition of immobilization syndrome emphasizes that this is a geriatric syndrome, which is closely connected to hypomobility, decondition, instability, falls, sarcopenia and other geriatric symptoms and syndromes. The main topic of the thesis - the multidisciplinary approach - is summarized in seventh subchapter and its sections. Individual team members and their basic activities while working with the client are defined here. The research part of the thesis is divided into several chapters. It is processed in a form of qualitative research. It follows the theoretical observations and assesses the work of particular members of the multidisciplinary team in practice. The analysis of personal documents was used on purpose, medical records of selected clients were used as source. Case reports were created afterwards. Case reports are processed using the medical records of clients from the after-care unit. They are also supplemented by the client's point of view, using questions within a semi-structured interview. In the course of case studies, commentary from involved observation is inserted. The conclusion consists of evaluation tables. Detailed expression , comparison of the results and overall summary are in chapter "Discussion". The research question should be answered whether the attitude to clients of the after-care unit is multidisciplinary and whether it corresponds with the needs of clients. The most important finding of this bachelor thesis is that a major factor is the client's diagnosis, and the individual team member's approach to the client. In "Discussion" chapter a comparison based on specialized literature is provided, discussing the long-term care in the international context. Research may be used as feedback to organizations providing long-term care to ensure better conditions of quality of elderly life. It can also be used as a basis for the realization of specific preventive measures. It would definitely be useful to chart the basic research situation in other healthcare facilities or private facilities providing health and social services.

The formative benefits of theatre-music projets for actors and audiences
Swoboda, Jaroslava ; Valenta, Josef (advisor) ; Kasíková, Hana (referee)
This thesis is a theoretical-empirical study divided into nine chapters. After the introduction, the second chapter focuses on the theoretical basis, defines the terms applied theatre (drama) and social theatre, which relates to the empirical part, and presents them in a broader context. The third chapter then provides an overview of projects implemented in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter defines the immigrant experience and the psychosocial events connected with immigration. The fifth chapter provides a brief overview of the practical use of applied drama in the Czech conditions, in the Archa Theatre. The sixth chapter contains qualitative research on the theme of formative influences of theatre-music projects at the Archa Theatre and on several immigrants who participate in them. The seventh chapter is an empirical survey that profiles the audiences of these performances and describes their motivation for attending theatre projects with social outreach. The final, eighth chapter, provides a concluding overview of the whole work. The ninth chapter contains a bibliography and list of sources. KEY WORDS Applied drama, applied theatre, formative influences, immigration, immigrant, social theatre.

Model for a Fluid-Particle Breakup in a Turbulent Flow.
Zedníková, Mária ; Vejražka, Jiří ; Stanovský, Petr
A model is developed for predicting the outcome of breakup of a fluid particle (bubble or drop), which is initially deformed (e.g. due to turbulence) and breaks into two daughter particles. An initially dumbbell-shaped deformation of the particle is assumed. The evolution of sizes of particle sub-parts is calculated using Rayleigh-Plesset equations, which consider the inertia of surrounding fluid, capillary action and viscous effects. The redistribution of internal fluid in the particle is calculated using Bernoulli equation. The model computes the sizes of daughter particles after the breakup. By assuming various initial conditions (various initial shapes and initial velocities of deformation), the size distribution of daughter particles is obtained. These size distributions are qualitatively compared with available experimental data and reasonable agreement is observed. Because of strong assumptions, this model cannot be used directly for accurate prediction of size distribution after a breakup. However, it provides an insight in the physics of the breakup, especially on the effect of inner phase properties.

České malé a střední podniky a efektivita jejich PPC marketingu
Zachová, Hana ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Josef (referee)
This thesis examines the problem of evaluating the effectiveness of digital marketing; more specifically it looks at the topic of Pay-per-click advertising on the scope of Small and Medium-sized businesses in the Czech Republic. The thesis provides literature review of the historical and current possible practices of what specific measures can be used to evaluate the success of pay-per-click advertising. Moreover, it connects the measurement subject with the associated area of attribution modeling. This topic represents an important issue for the online marketers mostly because of a currently widely used last-click attribution model that is not able to attribute the fair value of the different channels on the consumer journey to purchase. The primary research conducted in the form of qualitative research through in-depth interviews brings insights into the current practices of selected representatives of Czech SME sector as well as the digital agencies on the matter of measuring the success of online marketing and the attribution modeling. Derived findings give a picture at what stage of development the measurement and attribution of PPC currently is in the Czech SME market.
