Business cards and their use in international business

The business card as a tool for exchanging basic contact information plays an important role in international business. The first section of this bachelor thesis deals with the history of both paper and electronic business cards. The first section also describes the formal requirements of business cards, the use of academic and company titles, as well as the use of abbreviations. The seconds section classifies personal, company and diplomatic cards. The chapter then deals with the actual exchange of business cards in different countries. It gives examples of the exchange in Asian countries, in Europe, in the USA, in Canada and Latin America. The fourth part of the thesis introduces some of the new trends in exchanging contacts electronically such as e-mail business card, e-mail signature, CD business card, Poken, card reader, or sharing the contact information with the help of mobile phones. This chapter is followed by the results of the survey designed to discover the quantity, frequency, and general knowledge of paper business cards as well as the new technology.
The importance and allocation of science and technology parks in Europe

The bachelor thesis deals with the present situation in the area of science and technology parks in Europe. The introductory chapter offers a general theoretical view of the science and technology park concept. In the following analytical chapter the author initially examines the importance of science and technology parks in Europe, in particular regarding their support from the European Union connected with the unsuccessful Lisbon Agenda and its current successive strategy Europe 2020, and then focuses on their present allocation in the European area and prospective future trends. The content of the final chapter is a brief presentation and comparison of selected European science and technology parks.
Sea container transport between Europe and Far East

The theoretical part of the master thesis decribes sea container transport, documents used in this area, price making and impacts on the enviroment. In the practical part are discribed 5 ship-owners and their services from Far East to Europe. The most suitable service is chosen for the customer. The thesis also mentions impacts of the economical crisis to the sea transport. The last chapter is dedicated to the other kind of transports form Far East to Europe.
Integration Tendencies of the Science and Technology Development in Europe: The Competitiveness' Growth

The graduation thesis focuses on science and technology parks as the form of tendencies for the integration of the science and technology development in Europe. The objective of the thesis is to describe the development of science and technology parks in selected European countries and to verify the existence of dependencies between the integration of the science and technology development and the competitiveness of countries. The author defines the fundamental parameters and strategic goals of parks and compares parks in selected European countries on that basis. The author confirms positive dependences between the integration of the science and technology development and the competitiveness of countries and deduces prerequisites for the effective function of science and technology parks in the economy. The author suggests prospective good practices for the identified prerequisites.
Comparison of selected websites in the sphere of Europe tourism

The main goal of this work is to create metodics which will compare choosen tourist websites. Firstly, I will choose 3 big tourist cities of Europe. I will make a lot of views on websites and each websites will recieves points depends on quality. In the end of metodics, the one websites will be the winner. The second part of this work is user ability test which will give participants qestions to find something on choosen website. I will compare the results of this test and make a conclusion which websites are best. After that I will compare results from metodics and the results from user ability test. In the end of this work I will highlight the main things which every tourist websites of big Europe city should have.
Fair Trade in the international trade

The thesis is devided into four separate thematic units. In the first chapter the business relations at the system of conventional international trade with business relations at the system of Fair Trade are differentiated. The second chapter focuses on a concept of Fair Trade and describes its history, system, principles and targets. The third chapter turns to the channels of distribution in Fair Trade and to the international control and certification organizations, especially Fairtrade Labelling Organization International and World Fair Trade Organization. The last chapter specializes in Europe and an enlargement of Fair Trade there. At first the level of development in Europe as whole and then in three chosen countries (Finland, Switzerland, Italy) is appreciated. This chapter is finished with a situation of Fair Trade in Czech Republic.
Business protocol in integrated Europe

The first chapter devotes to definitions of basic terms such as protocol or business protocol, to differences between protocol and etiquette, and between social etiquette and business etiquette. The second chapter focuses on the factors influencing the European business protocol. The third chapter is devoted to the etiquette of business protocol in the European countries. It touches the topics such as punctuality and planning of business appointment, greeting, business cards, dress and appearance, names and titles, business language, conversation, non-verbal communication and gift giving etiquette.
Position of nuclear energy in Europe (focus on France)

The objective of the thesis is to characterize the nuclear energy in the european area with the focus on nuclear energy in France. The sector of nuclear energy is now experiencing a new period, so-called "nuclear renaissance". Many european countries decided to rebuild the present nuclear power sites or to construct new ones. Nuclear energy is the most advantageous solutions for many european countries because it decreases external energy dependence and it helps to diminish the carbon dioxide emissions. In the connection with the Czech Presidency in the European Union, it was made proposal for the "Nuclear Security Community" which has to unify the security level of member states of the EU and to intensify the mutual cooperation in the domain of nuclear energy. France represents world nuclear leader thanks to efficiently operating oragnizations, excellent results in nuclear research, realization of nuclear fuel recycling and strong government support. Nucler energy in France can serve as an example for four recommendations to other european countries: government support, efficiently working research institutions, global cooperation between all subjects participating on the formation of nuclear energy and active involvement in the international cooperation in nuclear energy. In spite of constantly high initial investment in construction of nuclear power sites, the nuclear energy seems to experience a positive future.
Comparation of tutorials of Basics of Informatics among several European Universities

The thesis deals with the comparation of tutorials of Basics of Informatics among several European Universities. At the beginning there is outlined which topics should the lessons include. In every topic there is description of content of individual topics, which are brought together into the one ideal course tutorial. Then there are examined educational systems in different European countries. Several universities are chosen according to the various criteria, their educational programs and lessons dealing with informatics are also described there. The individual syllabi are compared in eight criteria which are based on the ideal course tutorial where every single criterion has a different stress according to the conclusion of their descriptions. There are also confronted particular study programs in european universities according to their education of informatics. At the end of the thesis there is its own summary of outputs and contributions.
Comparison of european banks profitability

The aim of this paper is to determine, whether the conclusions reached by some authors about the influence of the development of the financial system, bank size and taxation on bank profitability are also applicable to the European banking sector. This thesis is divided into 4 thematic parts. The first part tries to summarize the recent events that have had influence on the European banking sector as well as on the whole world and sum up their possible impact on bank profitability. A lot of attention is paid to the events of 2007 and 2008. The second and third subsection describes the basic theory, on which the thesis is build on. The balance and income statement is analysed in short as well. Further, an insight into the profitability ratios is given, because the comparison of these ratios is the centre of this paper. The forth, methodological, subsection and the fifth as well are focusing on the process contiguous our comparison. The data selection process and the influences on it are described in this section. The section also includes the fundamental base and hypotheses. The profitability comparison can be found in the next three subsections. The banks are not looked at as individual institutions, but there are concentrated into bigger units, based on country of residence and size. The last section deals with the influence of taxation on bank's profitability. The conclusion is dedicated to a summary of all the findings that were discovered during the previous sections.
