Lifestyle, the most popular activities and concerns of citizens aged 65 and over.
GAPKOVÁ, Jiřina
Demographic statistics show that nowadays a proportion of seniors is increasingly growing in our population. Therefore it is very important to pay close attention to this group. The threshold age of sixty-five years is mainly associated with a longer retirement age. This turn occurs from day to day when a person has got a much more leisure time and must to cope with it in some way. I focused on the lifestyle, favourite activities and the greatest fear of people over 65 years in my diploma thesis. The thesis concentrates to an interconnection of the lifestyle with the health and the state of health of an individual. The research sample consisted of thirty respondents from the districts of Mladá Boleslav and České Budějovice. The respondents were approached by a random selection. Fifteen respondents, nine women and six men were from the district of Mladá Boleslav, ten women and five men were from the district of České Budějovice. There were established quota criteria - the age over 65, the residence in the district of Mladá Boleslav or in the district of České Budějovice and a willingness to take part anonymously in the research too. The research in the given areas took place in the months from December to March and in various environments: in libraries, shopping centres, traffic means (train, bus) as well as in streets of towns and villages. The results were processed in form of thirty case studies which were written in three areas: the identification, health and lifestyle and leisure time. Transparent tables were developed from the case studies. The interviews show that among the most favourite seniors´ activities belong reading of books, newspapers and magazines, watching TV and doing crossword puzzles. These three the most often and the most favourite activities were indicated both by respondents from the district of Mladá Boleslav and from the district of České Budějovice as well. The respondents´ greatest fear is of their health, it is followed by the fear of losing their children. These two concerns appeared on the top places at both of the groups of respondents. The third frequent fear was mentioned as a concern about the household in the district of Mladá Boleslav and the fear of the loneliness in the district of České Budějovice. Eleven of the thirty respondents said, that they have no fear (five in the district of Mladá Boleslav and six in the district of České Budějovice). The practical part also showed that cultural and social events are attended by nineteen from the thirty respondents, eleven of them do not take part in any events, most commonly for the reason of a poor state of their health or for the reason they do not want it at all. Eighteen respondents participate in sporting events, actively only four of them, twelve respondents do not attend any sporting events. None of them studies Academy or University of the Third Age and seems to be interested in studies. Only two seniors from the district of Mladá Boleslav are members of the seniors´ club. Differences in the lifestyle, favourite activities and the fears between the districts of Mladá Boleslav and České Budějovice are minimal. Following hypotheses can be drawn on the basis of the research, though it would be advisable to check them on a larger number of respondents. ?Seniors´ lifestyle is largely influenced by the state of health.? ?Especially the concern about the poor state of health belongs to the most frequent mentioned seniors´ fears? ?Mainly reading of books, watching TV and doing crossword puzzles belong to the most favourite seniors´ activities.? The diploma thesis could be used as a support of the healthy lifestyle and at the same time it could be used for an expansion or implementation of leisure-time activities for seniors from the districts of Mladá Boleslav and České Budějovice at the age group of people over 65.

Activities of the contemporary Czech anarchist movement
Holub, Tadeáš ; Kotík, Michal (advisor) ; Volek, Martin (referee)
The following thesis was written to provide o view of the anarchist movement in the form of non-violent activities. In my thesis I focus on providing perspective on contemporary forms of these activities in the Czech anarchist movement. Using qualitative research method of content analysis based on grounded theory I analyzed two main anarchist periodicals. I identified three main types of activities of the anarchist movement. These activities are intertwined with each other and collaborate with today's civilian initiatives, which provide space for anarchists to achieve their objectives and for the spreading of anarchist ideas among the like-minded people.

Milota Zdirad Polak's Sublime of Nature
Ibrahim, Robert ; Šmahelová, Hana (advisor) ; Hlobil, Tomáš (referee) ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee)
Sublime of Nature (1819), a lyrical poem in six cantos and with more than 1800 lines, written by a Czech poet and Austrian officer Milota Zdirad Polák (1788-1856), was at the time of its birth celebrated as the greatest Czech poem, its author labelled a genius and compared to the greatest European poets of the 18th Century. However, in the following decades Polák was gradually falling into oblivion, with literary historians of the end of the 19th and the beginning of 20th Century viewing Sublime of Nature as an unreadable work and its author as a non-poet. This attitude was also true for the 20th Century. However, in recent years some independent attempts have been made to bring Sublime of Nature back to both wider public and scholarly attention. The following dissertation joins these efforts. The aim of this dissertation is not an evaluation of Polák and his work; it is an attempt at interpretation of the text based on comparison of two versions of the poem (book and periodical) and on literary-historical setting of the work. Although Sublime of Nature appeared during a transient era of Czech literature characterized by its syncretism, this dissertation tries to relate Sublime of Nature to the context of (classicist) poetics and aesthetics of the 18th Century and in case of any borderline phenomena always...

Voltammetric Determination of Trace Amounts of Genotoxic 2-Aminofluoren-9-one
Hájková, Andrea ; Vyskočil, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Navrátil, Tomáš (referee)
of the Diploma Thesis Presented Diploma Thesis is focused on the electrochemical determination of genotoxic 2-aminofluoren-9-one (2-AFN), which belongs to derivatives of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Its possible carcinogenic and mutagenic effects may represent a risk to living and working environment. Optimal conditions for the voltammetric determination of 2-AFN were found in an appropriate ratio of buffered aqueous and methanolic phase. In the methanol - Britton- Robinson (BR) buffer (1:9) medium, voltammetric behavior of 2-AFN at a concentration of 1×10-4 mol/l was investigated in a dependence on the pH of the solution in the range from 2.0 to 13.0. For following measurements of concentration dependences, the optimal medium was chosen to be methanol - BR buffer of pH 4.0 (1:9). The achieved limits of quantification (LQ) were 2×10-7 mol/l for DC voltammetry (DCV) and 1×10-7 mol/l for differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). In the medium of an acetate buffer of pH 4.0, the LQ attained using adsorptive stripping differential pulse voltammetry (AdSDPV) at the HMDE under optimal conditions for the accumulation of the analyte (Eacc = +100 mV and tacc = 120 s) was 4×10-9 mol/l of 2-AFN. For the voltammetric determination of 2-AFN at a mercury meniscus...

Henry of Carinthia as a Czech king in the light of contemporary narrative sources
Razim, Jakub ; Žemlička, Josef (advisor) ; Doležalová, Eva (referee)
The aim of the presented thesis is to show how the personality of Henry of Carinthia was reflected by contemporary narrative sources including primarily annals, chronicles and a court poetry. We focus mainly on his Czech reign in the years 1306 - 1310, which is in our opinion a very controversial topic in the Czech historiography. The picture of this period is strongly influenced by the chronicle of Peter of Žitava who was a great political opponent of the regime established by Henry of Carinthia in the Czech lands. His attitude towards king Henry is therefore remarkably hostile. We suppose that Peter used certain literary pattems, so-called topoi, to describe the personality of Henry of Carinthia, especiaHy those caHed rex-tyrannus and rex-puer that can be commonly found in the medievalliterature. In order to point out similarities between these topoi and the picture of Henry of Carinthia in the chronicle of Peter of Žitava we make use of an anonymous treatise De duodecim abusivis saeculi that was written down in Ireland in the 7th century. A completely different attitude takes on the contrary the court poetry written in the alpine countries that describes Henry of Carinthia as an ideal knight, which is another widespread topos in the middle Ages. Between these two extremes many other historical sources...

From Komenský's Orbis sensualium pictus to Schola ludus
LAZAROVÁ, Jana
The aim of this diploma work is to study and analyse Schola ludus and Orbis sensualium pictus by John Amos Comenius. First it tries to describe both works, then it states their mutual relationship and finds out their specific features and their place in Comenius{\crq} pedagogic legacy. The first chapter informs the reader about the situation when both manuscripts were written. Chronological interpretation of events from the author{\crq}s life is focused on those that most affected his opinions and ideas. Mainly the period of the origin of both works is studied in a greater detail. The second chapter deals with Orbis sensualium pictus and is devoted to its characteristics, form and content. It also mentions the origin and the reasons why this picture language textbook was written. The third chapter of the diploma works looks at Schola ludus. The same points are analysed, i.e. the origin, the form, the contents and the purpose of this work. It shows the important role of Schola ludus which the book had while the secondary school in Blatný Potok was being reformed. The last chapter summarizes the relationships between Schola ludus and Orbis sensualium pictus, mainly from the point of view of their origin, purpose, social and didactic need. The conclusion of the diploma work considers possible use of the two Comenius{\crq} works for contemporary pedagogy and modern education.

Effect of yoga and tai-chi
