The status of animals as experimental objects in the light of wider sociological-historical perspectives

The thesis is dealing with the moral status of experimental animals in biomedical research. Aside of the sociological analysis of the problem, the aim of this work is to introduce a new field in social science Animal Studies, which is focused on elaborating the status of animals in human society and the relationships between humans and other living beings. In the first part, the author outlines the development of theories of moral status and evaluates the possibility of their application to the ethical problems related to nonhuman creatures. Practical part of the text is focused on the way the animals are objectified by laboratory personnel for the purpose of their instrumental use. The following chapter on the socialization of scientist focuses on the way the people are prepared and trained in emotional distance from the animals-instruments. Moreover, the author presents the process of desensitizing future scientist and discouraging individuals who are unable to accept specific concepts stabilized within the community of researchers who use animals. The relationship between the lawyer and his client under the contract of mandate

Relationship between client and attorney-at-law according to mandate contract Resume This thesis examines the legal relationship between a client and an attorney-at-law who conclude a mandate contract. Its aim is to characterize the most important rights and obligations which arise in such a relationship in accordance with valid Czech legislation, judicial decisions and disciplinary practice of the Czech Bar Association. The thesis begins with a description of the special role of attorneys-at-law in the market of legal services among other professions that are involved in provision of these services. Then it focuses on the legal nature of a commercial mandate contract, its comparison with a civil mandate contract according to Czech law, and examines whether such differences in fact have any impact on the rights and obligations in the client and attorney-at-law relationship. After a short analysis of the possible legal causes of a creation of the legal relationship between a client and an attorney-at-law and I focus on the different rights and obligations which are the content of the relationship. Prague and Florentine neoreneissance architecture

The recovery of the historicist style s was caused by the inconsistence of the period that took the past as something perfect and incomparable, but at the same time wanted to be distanced from it. Architecture helped the people to cross the chasm between the period before and after the industrial revolution. The fact that one had around him modem buildings, in technical sense, that cited the past, could give him a feeling that he lived in the past and present at the same time. This thesis would like to present the architecture in the cultural and historical context of the 19th century and show a least a lirtle bit of its connections with the society, ideas, preference s and abilities to face up to changes, and as well as to find the moments that led to the comeback of the renaissance period. It tries to show both critical and adoring views on historicist architecture that was appreciated in recent time. The first part of the thesis presents the historical and cultural situation in both countries because this fact could help to understand the ideological origins of the neo-renaissance architecture. Circumstances and consequences of the destruction of the historical town Most

The thesis Circumstances and Consequences of the Destruction of the Historical Town Most analyzes the circumstances and situation that arose after the destruction the historical town Most. The thesis approaches the topic via the description of the original situation, analysis of the consequences of the destruction and via outlining the possibilities of potential solutions of the current situation. Historical resources mapping the topic were used to describe the situation. The current state was analyzed via a field study and personal inventory that mapped attitudes of the participants who went through the situation. Potential proposals to solve the situations were outlined with the help of foreign case studies related to the topic. Czech cultural context was taken into an account for this purpose. The thesis suggests that the decision to destroy the old town Most has left severe and irreversible consequences in many aspects. The consequences are to be seen in the context of historical, cultural, ecological, psychological and sociological levels.

Zvláštnosti obchodního jednání a protokolu pevninské Číny a Hong Kongu

Cílem mé bakalářské práce je popsat odlišnosti čínské kultury, historických a jiných vlivů mající vliv na obchodní jednání a protokol. Zaměřuje se na praktické poznatky o tom, jak se přizpůsobit čínskému prostředí v obchodní a právní oblasti. Porovnává pevninskou část Číny a Hong Kong. Bakalářskou práci jsem rozdělila na dva velké úseky. První část pojednává o kultuře a kulturních atributech současné Číny. Druhá část popisuje obchodní zvyklosti a jednání čínských partnerů. První část v sobě zahrnuje obecné kapitoly týkající se geografických a demografických podmínek, sociálního systému. Popisuje náboženství, jazyk, písmo, historické souvislosti a obecné kulturní atributy, které bezprostředně souvisí s chováním Číňanů v obchodním styku. Tato část tvoří asi jednu třetinu bakalářské práce. Druhá část práce je obsáhlejší a je rozdělena na dvě části: na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část v sobě zahrnuje faktory ovlivňující vyjednávání, taktiky jednání a jeho jednotlivé fáze, úskalí a nepsaná pravidla obchodu, obchodní protokol a porovnání obchodních zvyklostí pevninské Číny a Hong Kongu. Kapitola porovnávající pevninskou část Číny a Hong Kong je důležitou částí mé práce a specifikuje rozdíly v přístupu podnikatelů, v právním prostředí, v historických souvislostech a obecných rozdílech, které mohou zaznamenat obchodníci vstupující na čínský trh. Specifika Hong Kongu nejsou popsány pouze v této kapitole, ale je jim vymezen prostor i v obecných kapitolách o celé Číně. Praktická část specifikuje zkušenosti evropských firem na čínském trhu a zahrnuje v sobě odpovědi dotazovaných na základě dotazníku. Dotazník obsahuje 10 otázek, každá otázka je postupně rozebírána dle zodpovězených možností.

Comparison of public and private forests

The work deals with conflict between public and private ownership of forests and solves the question, which of these concepts is more suitable in the area of forestry economy. This work takes into account various phenomenon, which are connected with this problematic. The work uses the method of historical comparison of time period before land reform in 1918, when the majority of forests were private and the presence, when the majority of forests is state owned. Next method, that work uses, is method of institutional analysis, which deals with influence of particular institutions and interactions among them.

The professionalization of SEVER (NGO)

The thesis is dealing with the problematic of professionalisation of non governmental organizations (NGO's). Its main aim is to describe as well as analyze the process of professionalisation of one specific NGO (SEVER) taking in account the processes occurring in relation with financing by the European Union foundations. The theoretical part of the thesis is covering the basic theoretical approaches to the process of professionalisation at one hand and the attitudes of the single representatives of NGO's on the other hand, via researches and analyses done on this topic or by monitoring of the day to day work of several NGO's with respect to the process of professionalisation. The given theoretical basic defines the concept of professionalisation which meaning is used in this thesis; the meaning of the definition of professionalisation includes the processes happening or that had happened in the chosen NGO (SEVER) in relation to increase the quality of services offered. The empiric part of the theses follows the mentioned processes through the case study in the chosen NGO (SEVER) and the processes occurring in interaction of the organization (SEVER) with its surroundings. At the end of the theses there is the gained knowledge summed up and evaluated.

Psychological Aspects of Communication in a Pharmacy

IV. ZÁVĚR Lékárny zaujímají důležité místo v systému zdravotní péče. Pacient v nich často zakončuje složitou cestu po zdravotnických zařízeních. V jiném případě sem přichází přímo s žádostí o lék, o radu. Role lékárníka tkví nejen v poskytování léků a informací o nich, ale i v přiměřeném psychologickém působení na pacienty. Komunikace, vedená způsobem šitým na míru každému jednotlivému pacientovi, může mít účinek významně podporující terapii. Lze ji popsat jako jakousi přidanou hodnotu k vydávanému léku. Je v zájmu lékárníků, aby se jednalo o hodnotu kladnou, protože ta může pacienty přivést znovu do lékárny. V této práci se potvrdilo, že pacienti vnímají bedlivě komunikaci s lékárníky a také ji posuzují a hodnotí. Všímají si verbální komunikace, jejímž základem jsou informace o lécích. V této souvislosti se ukázalo, že pacienti by často uvítali více informací o vydávaných lécích. Většinou pacientů jsou komplexně hodnoceny i prvky neverbální komunikace. Vliv na komunikaci má také prostředí, v němž probíhá. Zde se potvrdil trend z poslední doby, kdy pacienti pociťují větší potřebu soukromí při poskytování informací. Zdá se, že zavádění diskrétních zón by mohlo být prostředkem , který podpoří vzájemnou komunikaci lékárníků s pacienty. Překvapivě v porovnání s předchozími průzkumy nevzrostl počet pacientů,...
