The neuropsychological developmental screening NES - a pilot study of its applicability in the Czech context
Klapetek, Anna ; Kulišťák, Petr (referee) ; Šturma, Jaroslav (advisor)
The neuropsychological developmental screening NES was created for German pediatric practice and allows to quickly assess the developmental state of children between 2 and 24 months of age. At 2-4 and 5-7 months, the test assesses regulation of posture and movement, fine motor control, visual perception and cognitive skills, at 9-12 months visual perception tasks are replaced by exploration behavior tasks, while at 16-19 and 22-24 months posture and movement regulation, visuomotor skills, receptive and expressive language, and cognitive skills are evaluated. The aim of this thesis was to introduce the screening and test its applicability in the context of Czech Republic. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge on child development in the first two years, specifies the term developmental delay and discusses methodological problems associated with developmental diagnostics. Lastly, the theoretical grounding of the NES is described. In the empirical part, a Czech language version of the NES was created and subsequently administered to 50 Czech children. Despite the overall positive experience with the NES, weak points were identified in the original test instructions, which were modified in the Czech manual. The quantitative results allowed the identification of critical test items. Moreover,...

Student Self-Correction and the Opportunities it Holds for the Lower Grades of Primary School

Quantification of Elements in Plant Materials by Electrothermal Vaporization Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry
Šerá, Luisa ; Matějková, Stanislava ; Mestek, O.
This paper describes optimization and validation of operating conditions of electrothermal vaporization (ETV) inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) method for quantification of Ba, Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, Sr and Zn in plant materials. Besides the optimization of the temperature program, the selection of the gaseous modifier and the spectral wavelengths to be measured, it was studied how the sample quantity affects the result quality of the developed method. During the validation process, the accuracy and precision of the method were checked by analysis of a certified reference material. Limits of detection were estimated by analyses of blank samples. For almost all previously mentioned elements, the method meets requirements commonly applied on analyses by ETV combined with ICP-OES.

Socio-pathological features among children and young adults in special consideration of bullying
Štěpánková, Markéta ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor) ; Chrdlová, Michaela (referee)
This graduation thesis analyzes problems of one of the most frequent social - pathological phenomena among youth and children. Special attention is given to the characteristics and appearance of bullying among students in the upper grades of primary school. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part focuses on a review and description of exposures to aggressiveness, vandalism, truancy, and a variety of addictions and food intake disorders. The major part of this section concentrates on bullying - (the aggressor, the victim, symptoms, causes for its occurrence , prevention) The empirical part consists of a questionnaire inquiry focusing on the current situation as disclosed in classrooms at two primary schools with different backgrounds (one in the city and the other in the countryside). Each question in the questionnaire should bring an affirmation concerning the atmosphere in the classrooms, the dominant forms of bullying, and the differences in the behavior of boys versus girls. Other questions touch upon the orientation of students in the area of bullying-related problems and their ability to formulate ideas as how to possibly correct or solve these problems. The assessment of the questionnaire confirmed four out of five hypotheses: aggression dominance of boys...

Design Laboratory Phase Shifting Transformer
Korejčík, Michal ; Švec, Jan (referee) ; Paar, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with a power flow control in the electric power system. An overview of FACTS devices is introduced; their basic characteristics as well as examples of their application are discussed. A significant part of this thesis investigates phase shifting transformers (PST´s), which seem to be suitable for implementation in the transmission system of the Czech Republic. The PST´s are useful devices that control active power flows on cross-border lines and regulate unwanted and unexpected power flows. Basic types and characteristics of the PST´s are discussed. In chapter 7 is designed laboratory task that should validate the regulatory capabilities of the transformer PST. Designs of models of individual parts of this laboratory task are presented. In the last part of this thesis the regulation effect of the PST is validated in the GLF/AES program.

Economics of terorrism: Empirical analysis of the behavior of terrorist groups
Chovítek, Šimon ; Komrska, Martin (advisor) ; Pertold, Filip (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to empirically analyze the behavior of terrorist groups. In this work we tested the assumption of the model of rational choice in terms of terrorism. The empirical section combines theoretical predictions with observed facts and shows the terrorists as rational actors acting under uncertainty. The data used in the analysis orginate from databases GTD and RDWTI. Mean-variance analysis of portfolios of real attack of terrorist organizations suggests their ability to effectively optimize their activity and to reduce the risks to which they are exposed. Terrorists thus appears as rational agents able to react quickly to external influences. This largely affects the resulting impact of counter-terrorism measures taken when selectively targeted measures may lead to a mere transfer of terrorist activity to another destination.

Economic analysis of energy storage devices contained in EFSI 2015-2017
Kůt, Petr ; Macháč, Jan (advisor) ; Vojáček, Ondřej (referee)
As a result of support of renewable energy sources in Europe the fluctuations in electricity production occurs and threaten the stability of the electrification network. For this reason, we can monitor growing demand for technology solutions that are able to effectively eliminate these fluctuations. Devices for storing electrical energy appears suitable. This thesis deals with the economic analysis of the projected facilities in the Czech Republic that have applied for support from the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI), compared to other model devices. As part of the work there was used method of cost-effectiveness analysis to evaluate various technology solutions based on the ability to provide ancillary services. Consequently on the results of thesis we can say the most cost-effective project is under current conditions, construction equipment storage technology using compressed air CAES located at Dolní Rožinka included in EFSI 2015-2017. Estimation of household total risk
Frömel, Jaroslav ; Koblovský, Petr (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
The thesis focuses on estimation of household total risk exposure and factors affecting this estimation. The risk is represented with a financial loss of 20k CZK in the next month and with a financial loss of 50k CZK in the next 12 months. Nearly a half of participants in the survey (n=55) estimates the likelihood of this financial shock as being low, however the number of participants with high estimate increases for the next 12 months. The estimate of total risk exposure increases with age, for self-employed and single parents, next with income and assets, however overall wealth decreases the estimate. Significant factors are education, financial behaviour and cognitive abilities which all have a decreasing effect on the estimate. Availability is considered as significant having a positive effect while biased evaluation of risks has a negative effect. Time preferences can play an important role in the estimation of a long-term risk.
