Heterogeneity and segmentation of participants on the Czech foreign exchange market
Paleček, Jiří ; Vejmělek, Jan (advisor) ; Šíma, Ondřej (referee)
The work focuses on the history and development of the foreign exchange market, and consequently the overall characteristics of the foreign exchange market. Then this work compares retail and wholesale foreign exchange market. In examining the volume and structure of the turnover on the foreign exchange market. Access to the information of individual entities, where wholesale participants have a huge benefit because of the many advantages, mainly financial benefits. Determining whether the market is centralized or decentralized, it depends on the subject, retail market is decentralized and wholesale is centralized. It was also examined the behavior of the marginal individual entities, there are large differences between small and large entities. And that's also true for their influence, but to this I came up with Noise Trader theory, which shows that the situation can be reversed and retail traders streamlines the market. The work points out that problem when retail market penetrate on the wholesale market. And finally, the work offers insights into the problem of the missing middle market, or a stronger segmentation of market. The last point is the nightly news, and how individuals respond to them.

OF BACHELOR THESIS: Author's first name and surname: Eva Doležalová Bachelor thesis supervizor: MUDr. Bc. Petra Sládková Bachelor thesis consultant: Mgr. Štěpánka Kozlerová Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: Application of inertial sensors in physiotherapy Key words: inertial sensors, fyzioterapie, accelerometr, gyroskop, functional independence measures, neurorehabilitation Abstract: Inertial sensors are devices that allow monitoring of the movement. They are used also in physiotherapy, where they are applied to analyze walking and to detect falls. My bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of using inertial sensors for monitoring patients affected by upper extremity. The theoretical part contains an outline of chosen foreign studies that deal with this issue. The second part is about theoretical neurorehabilitation, which is an important part of treatment for patients after brain damage. The practical part is processed in the form of quantitative research. The aim was to obtain and correlate the values obtained before and after the rehabilitation process. It was a total daily activity of upper limbs, which was measured by inertial sensors and the results of functional independence measures (FIM).

Case Study of physioterapy treament of a patient after fracture of the proximal humerus treated by osteosynthesis
Sejkorová, Barbora ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Mahr, Edwin (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after fracture of the proximal humerus treated by osteosynthesis This thesis deals with the issues of physiotherapy treatment after fractures of the proximal humerus treated by osteosynthesis. On the basis of knowledge of functional anatomy, kinesiology, traumatology, orthopaedics and by Czech and foreign literature there is an effort to clarify the time and practice schedule of post-operative rehabilitation for the above diagnosis. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the function of the shoulder girdle, its individual structures and the influence of segmental defects of the shoulder girdle on upper limb mobility. It also deals with proximal humerus fractures and their treatment. In conclusion, it discusses the issue of post-operative rehabilitation in terms of time and practice. The practical part describes the specific case study of a female patient after the osteosynthesis of the proximal humerus. It includes an initial kinesiological analysis on the basis of what a physiotherapy procedure had been applied to improve the overall mobility of the upper limb. After finishing treatment a final kinesiological analysis and evaluation of the effect of therapy have been performed, both...

The theoretical part of the thesis generally focuses on the role, development and contribution of the news channels in the society. Consequently it describes two possible viewpoints of motivation to...

Does a physical geographer need millions? Experience with terrestrial laser scanning in geographical survey
Kuda, František ; Divíšek, Jan
In this paper, we present our experience with terrestrial laser scanning (TSL) in geographical filed-survey. This technique provides extremely accurate 3D model of given object or locality, which consists of millions points (so-called point cloud); each of them is determined by X, Y and Z coordinates. However, usability of this large amount of points fundamentally depends on researcher's requirements (i.e. on the type of required output) as well as on the conditions in the field. For example, if one needs to create accurate digital terrain model of small area with dense vegetation, only few points may be usable for final interpolation of digital terrain model. As dense vegetation has to be filtered out, data pre-processing becomes technically more demanding and more time-consuming and accuracy of final model necessarily decreases. For these reasons, we emphasize that, in geographical survey, TSL is the most effective for modelling of small geomorphological objects and landforms which are not covered by vegetation and also for making profiles and cuts. This should be taken into consideration when the filed-survey is prepared.

The structure of currency in the Czech lands in the second half of the 17th century. The predictive value of coin findings of the second half of the 17th century
Brádle, Vojtěch ; Kostlán, Antonín (referee) ; Šimek, Eduard (referee)
Contemporary Czech numismatics still lacks an up-to-date summary work which would deal with the issues of monetary circulation in Bohemia in the second half of the 17th century which to a great extent coincides with the rule of Leopold I. Besides studying written sources monetary situation of the given period may be also enlightened in a way by coin hoards cached at that time. Following the criteria of the minimum number of 100 coins in particular hoards, their complete or almost complete preservation and a certain degree of expert processing, 13 coin hoards were selected cached by their owners between 1650 and 1700 containing in all 8089 coins. These coins were used for making a detailed analysis with the objective to ascertain monetary structure in Bohemia in the second half of the 17th century, compare the results with the composition of coins hoards from between 1618 and 1648 and thus reveal possible changes and trends. In the case of Bohemian coinages the objective was also to compare its representation in coins hoards abroad in other parts of the Habsburg monarchy. Last but not least, the analysis was to verify some theses often repeated in literature concerning e.g., occurrence and influx of foreign coins to the territory of Bohemia or significance of private issuers of coins from Bohemia, Moravia...

Analysis of the economic position of Czechoslovakia in COMECON
Schovánková, Klára ; Skřivan, Aleš (advisor) ; Soběhart, Radek (referee)
The main objective of this work is the analysis of the long-term impact of the ČSR's membership in the Comecon (The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance) on the Czechoslovak economy. The move from a market to a planned economy created fundamental change in the structure of both trade and production. The implementation of unrealistic production plans and dictates from the Soviet Union resulted in an economic crisis and severe disorder in the social system due to the lack of and possibility of personal consumption. This paper also deals with the analysis of the situation in foreign trade, and the overall economic position of Czechoslovakia among other Soviet satellites. The author also tried to evaluate the results of the planned economy on production and also it's place internationally in the division of labor. The intention is to highlight the differences between the official plans and the real results and impact on the Czechoslovak economy. This contrast is achieved by comparing archival sources and special literature. The major space in this work is dedicated to analysis of the automotive industry, the changes and the problems of this sector in the individual decades.

Comparative analysis of British and Dutch programme of support of civil society in the CR between 1995-2003
Nová, Klára ; Stulík, David (advisor) ; Moree, Dana (referee)
This master's thesis is concerned with the process of constituting civil society in the Czech Republic within the 1990s when many foreign embassies administrated their own programmes for promoting civil society in the Czech Republic, the most significant programmes were held by British and Dutch Embassy in Prague. The introduction part of the thesis provides an introduction to the issue in social, law, statistical and economic perspectives, and at the same time it outlines the initial difficulties of nonprofit organizations in raising subsidies, grants and money contributions from both national and foreign resources. Further, the thesis provides a comparative analysis of the support programmes administrated by both British Embassy and Dutch Embassy, with a special emphasis on the analysis of their effects, assets and long-term support effectiveness. In addition, the potential EU financial resources to be applied for after the Czech Republic's accession to the EU are introduced.

Řízení devizové expozice podniku
KRÁSNICKÁ, Martina
The first part of this dissertation, entitled Exchange Rate Exposure Management, addressed the question whether there has been a relationship between changes in exchange rate volatility and financial results of Czech enterprises and therefore foreign exchange exposure management is justified. For this purpose, the empirical data of revenues and exports and imports in CZ-NACE sections were used. Statistically significant results were demonstrated in the Section C - Manufacturing, where it was confirmed that profitability of sales declines with increasing volatility of the exchange rate. The nominal exchange rate CZK/EUR was taken into consideration, while a recent thesis (Klecka, 2016) showed that the use of another type of the exchange rate does not provide a statistically significant difference. In the second part a simple model called Estart was created in order to quantify the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate changes in the profitability of a company and thus in order to start with the management of the exchange rate exposure. The formula for calculating exchange rate exposure is simple and requires only a few inputs as company total revenues, total expenses, the percentage of revenues in foreign currency and the percentage of expenditure in foreign currency. In order to quantify the maximum impact recommended percentage variations dependent on the time horizon were determined from the historical data of the exchange rate CZK/EUR. The company then receives initial information about the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate change on their profitability and hence for example the potential maximum amount that makes sense to invest in exchange rate hedging. The model is also suitable for calculating the maximum impact for the specific payables and receivables. The Model Estart is for its simplicity usable particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, which currently begin to address the question of the impact of exchange rate change on their profitability for example because of announcements of Czech National Bank concerning the end of the intervention that has been depreciating domestic currency since 2013 and also the complicated situation in the Eurozone. The next necessary step is to use more sophisticated methods in accordance with the principles of foreign exchange rate exposure management in order to quantify the impact of unexpected changes in the exchange rate on the profitability, respectively on the value of the company, mainly because of the management of the operational exposure, which is crucial and which is not addressed by this simple model.

Analysis of the influence of minimum wage on unemployment and its development in the Czech republic and in the chosen countries of European union in 2000 - 2015
Schwabová, Petra ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Řežábek, Pavel (referee)
This thesis analyzes minimum wage, its development, determination and influence on increasing or decreasing of employment in the Czech rebublic and in the other countries of European union. It starts with determination of theoretical background of minimum wage, economical models that deals with the impact of minimum wage on employment and czech and foreign papers concerning relevant topic. In the analytical part, the thesis concerns characteristics of the system of minimum wages in particular countries of European union and their comparison. In the last part of the thesis, econometrical model was done. The aim was to find out if any of determined variables have impact on total unemployment rate in the Czech republic. Model was performed with statistical data from 2000 to 2015. The impact of some variables was proved, for example number of university graduates that have negative influence on total employment in the Czech republic.
