Hope and Reality Clashing Existential problems of parents in self-determination of their offsprings with intellectual disabilities

The thesis deals with the issue of the independence of people with intellectual disabilities from parents. The aim of the thesis is to map the way of adulthood of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of the life story from the point of view of their mothers, including perspectives and prospects for the future. The thesis tries to answer the question: Why do parents postpone the planning and realization of their children's independence to their late age? The central theme how parents deal with the consequences of their children's intellectual disabilities throughout their lives and the confrontation of hope and reality in the field of self-esteem, human relationships and partnerships of intelectuall disabled people. The research method is the analysis of life curves and interviews with the use of grounded theory. The work compares a group of mothers of persons with moderate intellectual disabilities and a group of mothers of persons with mild intellectual disabilities. The results show qualitative differences in the problems of both groups. Aktive time use of people with mental disabilities: case studies of clients from supported housing

This bachelor thesis is focused on the active spending of time of people with mental disabilities who are users of supported housing. The thesis is divided into two main parts, namely the theoretical part and the practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines the mental disability, presents the classification of mental retardation and, also focuses on the aetiology of mental disability. The second chapter focuses on the period of adulthood, the division of individual stages of adulthood and their characteristics, the period of adulthood for people with mental disabilities and the psychological peculiarities of persons with mental disabilities. The third chapter characterizes the social service of supported housing and, at the same time, there is a summary of other housing opportunities for people with mental disabilities. The fourth chapter defines the concept of leisure time and deals with the issue of spending leisure time in people with mental disabilities. The research part is realised as qualitative. The socialization as lifelong process

The work deals with the lifelong socialization process from the perspective of integra-tion of individuals into society. First, it outlines the issue of the socialization process from the point of view of social sciences, then it gradually turns to childhood. It emphasizes the initiation of socialization in an individual through the primary socia-lization. It presents the peculiarities and specifics of socialization in childhood and adolescence, when gradually the secondary socialization emerges. Then the thesis moves to the core part the problem of adulthood and old age. These age periods are specific for the contrast clearly reflected in the process of socialization. Adultho-od is a synonym for productive age, while the old age is an age of experience typical of having more free time. The thesis examines the integration of adults and seniors through education and preventive programmes on the background of today. Finally, the author utilizes the experience from Attavena o.p.s. with the increase of competen-ces in individuals who attend this organization in order to achieve a better integration into society.
The difference in leisure time activities among the adult people with ADHD

The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare the free time activities of people with ADHD and people without ADHD, as well as analysing manifestations related to the topic. The theoretical section of my thesis is dedicated to the causes of ADHD, as well as its manifestations. The idea of free time is also explained. In the practical part of my thesis, I interviewed five respondents with ADHD and five respondents without ADHD;these interviews were evaluated. The final results were formulated based on the differences between the answers of interviewed respondents and on the theoretical thinking. The thesis points out the fact, that individuals with ADHD have problems managing their free time, they tend to change their free time activities at random and sport seems like a wasted energy to them.
Strategies dealing with difficult situations by people with the severe visual handicap

This bachelor's thesis is focused on coping strategies of stressful situations in the lives of people with profound visual impairment. The theoretical part of this work describes visual impairment and deals with psychical development of a visually disabled child, functions of compensatory mechanisms and socialisation of a visually impaired person. Furthermore it focuses on how visual impairment is experienced by a child and his family and by an adult person. The empirical part describes the process and results of my qualitative research. The aim is to find out the types of stressful situations in the lives of visually impaired people and their coping strategies. This part also figures out how the visual impairment is connected with stress and whether the impairment is the main stress factor in the life of visually disabled people.
Midlife crisis

: Midlife Crisis is a very popular concept describing middle adulthood. Faced with imminent death, people stop on the way to achieve their goals, to review their achievements and to assess what you already have and what you still want to achieve to fulfill their dreams. The theoretical part deals mainly with the definition of middle adulthood, midlife crisis, life satisfaction and personal well-being and also presents an overview of basic theories and research on these topics. Empirical part is focused on finding how this concept is understood and whether their own lives and the lives of their loved ones this stage recognize as life stage specific symptoms within the definition of midlife crisis and how this developmental stage experience. The work also deals with the psychological differences in experiencing developmental stages middle-aged men and women and ways of coping. Using the MMPI-2 in Differential Diagnostic of Asperger's Syndrome and Schizofrenia

The main target of this study is to identify the scales in MMPI-2 which could help the differential diagnostic process between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. Adult persons with Asperger's syndrome and adult persons with schizophrenia were examined. The study has a quantitative character, concretely data mining, which offers generating and verifying hypothesis. The results show that configuration of heights of specific scales can be crucial in distinguishing between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. In the concrete we expect increase in 0Si, Sc1, Pa2 and OBS along with medial T-scores in Sc6, Pa1, Psyc and Biz in protocols of people with Asperger's syndrome.
