Art Symposia in the 1960s
Fišer, Marcel ; Wittlich, Petr (advisor) ; Klimešová, Marie (referee) ; Šetlík, Jiří (referee)
The Dissertation Abstract The dissertation deals with the tradition of holding art symposia (with a special focus on sculpture symposia) since their origins until the beginning of the 1970s. Both of them coming from German-speaking regions, so far only two works have been dedicated to the topic. However, they both focus on sculpture symposia and totally neglect other disciplines. The fact that they - for perfectly understandable reasons - mostly deal with art from Eastern Europe and overseas is their second weakness. Thus East-European art symposia are commented on scarcely and without knowledge of the local context. The text of the dissertation is therefore for the fist time fully based on an extensive research of the wide spectrum of symposia with respect to their geographical and disciplinary aspects. Thanks to their heavy influence, sculpture symposia, nevertheless, tend to occupy most space. The text places symposia into the context of general development in visual arts and sculpture after World War 2, especially with respect to some on-going contemporary trends, such as the phenomenon of open-air exhibitions, foundation of sculpture parks, development of public art, emerging of abstract art or welded metal sculptures of the later period. The major part of the text includes data about all art symposia...

Genesis of the Belarussian National Identity (1863-1958)
Linitskaya, Natallia ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor) ; Pullmann, Michal (referee)
The study follows the process of the construction of belarussian national identity between the second half of the 19th and the first half of the 20th centuries in terms of community of name, language, territory and historical memories. This subjective foundation of a nation does not blend in the belarussian case with the civic model. Historical memory of Kalinovski's Uprising demonstrates the dubiousness of using a common historical past which itself corresponds with that of Russia and Poland. On the contrary, the allocating of belarussian national identity according to social demands was convinient. Unsuccesful vindication of the historical legacy of "Litva" and the failure of Belarussian to become the language of bureaucracy caused a decoupling of the genealogical bonds from the national identity. The longing of "tutejshi" for social happiness facilitated the appropriation of national identity as essentially a soviet one. Belarussians are becoming Belarussians as toiling people who are emancipated in a national state, deliniated by the colonial map. Keywords: Belarus, national identity, nationalism, national state, belorussification, «tutejshi»

Goal of this work is to develop and then build system that would keep constant temperature in a given place or that of a given material (item), in this case it would be control system for a hot air soldering station heater with output up to 600W, with required adjustable temperature range of 150-500°C. Second goal of this work is to develop and then build this device using possibly simplest wiring and as small amount of components as possible.

Buenos Aires in the Ernesto Sabato's novel Sobre héroes y tumbas (On heroes and tombs)
Netíková, Kristina ; Vydrová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Housková, Anna (referee)
This thesis gives an topology perspective on the Ernesto Sabato's novel Sobre héroes y tumbas (On heroes and tombs, 1961). It presents Buenos Aires in his singularity, as an staggered city on the shore of the Río de la Plata, with his inhabitants mostly of the immigrant origin, with atmosphere of nostalgia voiced by tango and cosmopolitan spirit of bars and cafés. The attention of the work is focused on spaces, mostly linked by other themes that develops its peculiarity and compile its complex character: e.g. monster and labyrinth, uterus - mother and home, conscious and unconscious of the city, port and south as the spaces of hope.... The epicentre of the story is house of the Olmos family- with the impressive windowed balcony "Mirador" and its occupier Alejandra, respresenting the lost Argentinean heroic "criollo" past. This past disappears as well as old Buenos Aires, imagined and loved by Sabato and Borges, his genuine bard and one of the Sabato's novel heroes . Sabato's conception of the city is explicitly negative - as the place of the evil and his realization. He adverts to desperation, isolation and imposibility of communication among the people of Buenos Aires, this New Babilonia, but in fact of every Babylonian citiy in the world. Offers an intercepiton of concomitant circumstanes of the spread of...

Analysis of environmental investments in Moravia-Silesian region in period 2012-2015
Štěpán, Jaroslav ; Macháč, Jan (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
Moravian-Silesian region belongs in long term to areas with high level of air pollution. Since the government support to deal with this problem, significant amount of environmental investments are there allocated. Their influence on economy of the region is crucial to evaluate. Goal of thesis is to confirmate a hypothesis about zero change of multiplication effect from chosen environmental investments on net profit and net taxes. Regional static Input-Output model, which had been extended by household consuption, was developed for purpose of evaluation. The model results in positive net profit multiplication worth 8,24 % and net taxes worth 5,82 % of the whole value of investments in all examined periods. According to performed calculation the initial hypothesis is disproved and on the basis of multiplication effects the environmental investments can be subsidized not only by subjective reasons (reduction of air polution) but also by objective economic arguments.
