Raising Finances For Comercial And Non-Comercial Contemporary Czech Films
Hrubý, Tomáš ; Kopecký, Čestmír (advisor) ; Vála, Luboš (referee)
My bachelor thesis Raising Finances for Comercial and non-comercial contemporary czech films is focusing and describing producers? know how of raising finances for their movies. The theses examines a different resource in each chapter. The resources are put in order according to their importance. The major source of information has been the interviews with different producers, tv managers and public council members. All these public figures talked about various ways of raising money for czech movies. The theses divides movies into two categories, comercial and non-comercial, due to a completely different way of raising funds. It also describes various advantages and disadvatnages of various financing sources.

Analysis of the Price Convergence of CR towards EU
Havrlant, David ; Pánková, Václava (advisor) ; Mandel, Martin (referee) ; Singer, Miroslav (referee)
The price level convergence of the transition economies towards the reference economies is linked to the relative price of nontradables, which is explained by the total factor productivity differentials in tradable and nontradable sector. Basic concept is offered by the Balassa Samuelson model and its modifications. Testable equations are derived from these models, and the panel data approach is applied for their estimation. The results indicate faster growth of the relative price of nontradables in transition economies as succession of higher growth rate of the total factor productivity in tradable sector. Hence estimated models confirm the price level convergence of transition economies towards the reference economies. The analyses of price dynamics of the complementary field, i. e. of the tradables, follows, and the basic concept is represented by the rational bubble hypothesis. The stress is putted on the impact of the word prices on the price levels of the Czech Republic. After a cointegration analysis of the time series is carried out, the influence of the word prices of tradable commodities is estimated within a vector error correction model and regression analysis. This cost factors analysis is afterwards related to the export dynamics of the Czech Republic, and models suitable for quantitative analysis of export dynamics as well as its prediction based on vector error correction model and regression analysis are evaluated. Their forecasting ability is assessed within a simulation of ex-post forecasts and a root mean squared error. The aim is to consider the relationship between the price levels and the export dynamics, for the relation of both variables evaluated within the Granger causality seems to be less straightforward then the standard export equations suggest, and the estimated equations confirm significant influence of the export dynamics on the price level.

Leisure Time Centre Brno
Sudolský, Filip ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The main subject of the project was to create architecture study for new building of free time center, which will be integrated to surrounding of a local park in a context with structure of a city around. The site plan is placed in park area on the end of the city part Nový Lískovec which is put lower comparing to surrounding. Other building and terrace houses are surrounding it. The main intention in design was to sensitively touch and fill the place with building link to the closest surrounding. The idea of making a connection on pedestrian communication on eastern area between terrace houses, which is pointing to busy bus stop. By this line and Plachty Street was the building geometrically made on purpose to leave the park and to create certain public space for spending free-time. By this distribution two parts was made. Hall part with gym, dressing room and gym for extreme sports, where trampolines, u-ramp, and pool with foam cubes are dominates. In second part there is café with polyfunctional rooms and mediatheque for watching movies, playing games or making small presentations. In front of Café there is created amphitheater and space for placing terrace in the summer time. Other main thing was to create easy movement for people bikes or baby-carriages and so on. In case of lightning was created a long windows shaded by wooden elements which are continuing on façade cover.

The Development of Political Party Systems in the Czech Republic and Slovakia after 1989
Schaller, Jennifer ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Krausz Hladká, Malvína (referee)
The transition to democracy and consolidation of democracy in Central and Eastern Europe is a widely debated topic within the study of comparative politics. Nearly twenty years after embarking on the democratization and economic liberalization path, most of these states have emerged with stable and internationally accepted democratic systems. The literature on democratization has identified many different factors that contribute to the success of democracy (its stabilization and consolidation) in post communist states. One of the crucial factors in the development of democracy is institution-building. New democratic states must rapidly and decisively put democratic institutions in place in order to be able to carry out the procedures related to democracy. Institutions include not only the governing bodies, but also political parties, which form the basis of political competition. The development and maintenance of political parties is crucial to newly-formed democracies, and the ability of parties to win elections, survive, and adapt is one important indicator of the successful functioning of democracy. Studies of newly-formed or renewed political parties and political party systems focus on the contexts and conditions for their development, incorporating a variety of variables that account for differences...

Language, adaptation, and culture
Novotná, Magda ; Opletalová, Lenka (referee) ; Soukup, Václav (advisor)
The main objective of the diploma work Language, Adaptation and Culture is to approach the question of an adaptation of a foreigner through the process of learning the Czech language. A foreigner being new to a particular society has to go through many unknown situations concerning his behavioral patters, his language knowledge as well as his habits and attitudes. I find this process of learning the new "know how" very interesting to study as it brings important ideas and experiences to the intercultural relations. This work particularly focuses on the role of "native" language knowledge in the process of acculturation of an individual. It consists of two parts. The theoretical part, divided into six chapters, is firstly dealing with the terms of acculturation and how it is perceived by both anthropology and cross-cultural psychology. Secondly the focus is put on the phenomena of a foreigner and the characteristic of the relation between "we" group and "they" group. The third chapter is dedicated to the question of a foreigner in the Czech environment, following by the chapter five introducing the origins of language as well as the linguistic anthropology as it is presented by the contemporary human science studies. The sixth part's objective is to briefly inform about the techniques of the qualitative...

Study of mechanisms of ammonia production in yeast colonies and liquid cultures
Strachotová, Dita ; Váchová, Libuše (advisor) ; Sychrová, Hana (referee) ; Gášková, Dana (referee)
Yeast, although non-motile and unicellular organisms can create organized structures, colonies, in which cells communicate and cooperate and which in some ways resemble multicellular organisms. Our previous studies on yeast colony development revealed that colonies periodically change pH of their surroundings. Alkalization of an agar medium is accompanied by production of volatile ammonia that acts as the long-range signal. Microarray analysis of the expression changes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae colonies during their transition from acid to alkali phase revealed significant changes in yeast transcriptome. Among others, strong induction of expression of three homologous genes ATO1 (YNR010c, ADY2), ATO2 (YNR002c, FUN34) and ATO3 (YDR384c) at the beginning of the alkali phase was found. These genes encode membrane proteins that may function as ammonium/H+ antiporters. This work contributes to better understanding of both the ammonia signaling and the role of putative ammonium exporters - Ato proteins. It was revealed, that other volatile compounds - methylamine and propylamine - are (in addition to ammonia) able to induce entry into the alkali phase of yeast colony development. Moreover, the significant impact of the transport of monocarboxylic acids on ammonia production and yeast colony development...

Social advertising
Grossová, Lenka ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Hubáček, Ondřej (advisor)
The social advertising is a cultural phenomenon, the objective of which is to point out the problems of society and to change the public attitude and behaviour. These objectives are reached by the same principles and strategies used in the commercial advertising. The social advertising, as well as its hybrid and transitional forms, are a branch of the social marketing. While the submitters of the social advertising are mostly non-profit organizations, even more private companies are involved in Corporate Social Responsibility programme, trying to reach not only their company (commercial) goals but also the sociality beneficial goals in order to distinguish from the competition. The marketing instrument which puts on the notifications about this activity into the company communication strategy is called Cause Related Marketing. Considering the social advertising in the Czech Republic (or CSSR) we can only talk about it when regarding the change of the regime in 1989. Even if we can find this kind of advertising in the era of communism, it was mostly only the propagandism. For this reasons, the social advertising is at the higher level in Western Europe and The United States of America, as more space and assets are devoted to it then in our country. In my thesis I tried to plot its problems, to consult it...

Usage of Informatica tools in a datawarehouse and optimalization of ETL processes
Adámek, Karel ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Derfler, Václav (referee)
The graduation thesis is engaged in the problems of ETL development in terms of Business Intelligence solution. It analyses the wider portfolio of aplications supporting ETL development and offers the survey of its basic characteristics. There is a detail analysis of the pair of chosen instruments which utility is shown on the development of the real transformations. Then the advantages and possible risks of the transition on the higher edition of the product PowerCenter from Informatica company are being analysed too. The constituent of the thesis is engaged in optimalization procedure which is put into real operation of data warehouse and shows its benefit in term of computer time reduction The aim of the thesis is to show the detail look into the ETL instruments, formation of ETL transformations and not least the ways of optimalization of ETL transformations. The graduation thesis proposes to solve the problems in selection of convenient ETL instrument not only from the view of ETL developer in the shape of detailed comparison of the pair instrument usage but also from the view of management in the shape of general survey, basic characteristics and the comparison of wider porfolio of ETL instruments. In terms of detailed analysis the set Informatica PowerCenter should give us answers for the questions like: "What advantages does the upgrade of Informatica PowerCenter range 7 to range 8 bring?" or "What problems may that upgrade cause and how can we solve those problems? The part devoted to optimalization proposes to offer the outlook to the basic optimalization procedures inside the data warehouse and comparison of its contribution. In parallel with analytic part there is also proceeding the formation of practical part of the graduation thesis which consists in development of really used ETL transformations and in optimalization of selected ETL transformations of data warehouse. First the graduation thesis is concentrated on the analytic activity consisting in the products research which are on the top of ETL development. Then it is gathering the detailed knowledge of two instruments which is aplicated for the formation of ETL transformations The second analytic phase is concentrated on the optimalization procedures. The knowledge acquired in that phase is subsequently used in practice and the final analysis of those procedures and benefits is proceeding. The graduation thesis does not also miss out to partly outline the future development in the field of ETL.The main contribution consists in giving not only the comprehensive survey of ETL instruments but also in the detailed analysis of pros and cons of the pair of selected products. The thesis offered the answers to the questions asked in the outset connected with the transition to upper version of Power Center. The analysis of optimalization procedure enabled the optimalization of 29 ETL transformations and their high effectivity was proved too.

Evidence of eneolithic textile production in Bohemia
Korteová, Judita ; Dobeš, Miroslav (advisor) ; Březinová, Helena (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the technological as well as social connections of the textile production in Aeneolithic Bohemia, examined principally on archaeological evidence from Aeneolithic settlements, especially whirles, weights, awls and spools. Evaluated as for their number, shapes, dimensions, functions and archaeological context, the finds are being related to data coming from abroad, mainly from the pile-dwelling settlements in Switzerland, known as localities with preserved organic material. The thesis also includes a description of the various phases and techniques of the textile production, whose archaeological evidence is being compared with items found in Bohemia. The situation in Aeneolithic is being put in a broader context of the textile production in prehistoric and protohistoric times. Keywords awls, Bohemia, Aeneolithic, textile production, weights, whirls
