Machytka, Daniel ; Jeníček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Němcová, Ingeborg (referee) ; Baláž, Peter (referee) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
This doctoral thesis focuses on Energy security of European Union with and accent on use of renewable energy sources as an energy security instrument. Main goal of this thesis was to identify, verify and then postulate options that could enhance current state of energy security of European Union. Main instrument of this activity is a theoretical model which introduces three specific options. First option is about off-grid and partially on-grid system used for home and autonomy energy production. Second option is a synergic link of infrastructure for off-shore wind farms with a marine energy. Third option is a maximization of energy efficiency, energy savings and energy storage concepts. Energy efficiency was identified as hierarchical condition mandatory for every single introduced options. All introduced options were verified against European energy law, against principles of energy security and against economical and security criteria. Final and most important criteria for plausibility of such options is embodied in European energy policy and current energy and climate strategies.

Laurincová, Lucia ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Dobiáš, Petr (referee)
European Private International Law- Unification of Conflict Rules Abstract The purpose of my thesis has been to analyze the part of European Private International Law concerning the unification of conflict rules in private sphere. I argue for the importance of the issue to be dealt with at European level, since the national conflict rules often greatly differ and thus the relationships of mobile citizens with a transnational element of any kind occurring more often ought to be uniformed so that the appropriate level of legal certainty is achieved and the results of such relationships are foreseeable at least to the point that one would know which law to apply and govern the situation. The first chapters look at the topic of private international law in general, followed by the introduction of European Private international law, mentioning the relevant changes brought by the Lisbon Treaty, and discussing the importance of unification of conflict rules, for which regulations as proper legal instruments are used. Subsequently, I analyze the regulations themselves, starting with examining the so called regulation Rome I on the law applicable to contractual obligations, followed by exploring the regulation Rome II on the law applicable to non-contractual obligations, whereas these two are the base conflict rules...

Studie zabývající se dopady nové bankovní regulace na cykličnost kapitálových požadavků v České Republice
Bartůsek, Michal ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tříska, Dušan (referee)
This work focuses on new regulatory proposals, primarily Basel III accords and analyzes its ability to create a buffer for recurrent credit bubbles. This paper follows a research made by Lis, Pagés and Saurina [2000]. Their paper has illustrated the cyclicality of loan growth and GDP growth for Spain. This cyclicality is supported by cyclical Basel II regulation. In this paper is examined the ability of new regulatory proposals such as Basel III, statistical provisions and change in the approach to the probability of default, to cope with recurrent credit bubbles. According to my critical assessment, Basel III may not be able to create sufficient capital buffer for exceptional credit bubbles such as the current one. This buffer suggested by Basel III has several drawbacks which may decrease its functionality. Statistical provision is not an appropriate measure either, because it could weaken the fair and true view of financial statements principle. Change in approach to probability of default seems to be rational and effective. The only issue may relate to its recovery mechanisms. It doesn't support economic growth in time of economic recession. The author's proposal of new countercyclical buffer, which would be based on credit-to-GDP ratio and GDP growth to loan growth gap is introduced at the end of this work. Although this measure may have negative impact on GDP growth, it may create an appropriate buffer to systematic credit risk.

The evaluation of nutrition level in agriculture entrerprise
VÁVRA, Jakub
The purpose of the study was to evaluate feeding system at given farm, uncover any shortcomings and propose measures for their elimination. On the basis of data related to composition of diets fed to dairy cows nutrient intake was found. The obtained values were compared with recommended nutrient content reported in the literature. Information describing the feeding techniques used at the farm was obtained from the farm management. These findings were also compared to the recommendations of the literature. It was found that rations met nutritional demands as well as dietary needs of dairy cows at various stages of lactation and the dry period. The work revealed weaknesses in the feeding system used at the farm. It was found that all of dairy cows throughout the entire lactation were fed a single ration. Rations for dairy cows did not take into account the different needs at different stages of lactation. Likewise, different genetically determined performance of dairy cows was not taken into account. Based on these findings, actions were proposed to remove weaknesses. It was recommended to create at least two groups of cows according to milk yield achieved, which would reduce over-feeding cows with low milk production. This would reduce the consumption of an expensive concentrated feeds and thereby save the costs.
