Ecological study of epixylic species \kur{Lophozia ascendens} and \kur{Anastrophyllum hellerianum (Lophoziaceae)}
HOLÁ, Eva
Seasonal pattern and extent of asexual reproduction in liverwort species Lophozia ascendens, L. ventricosa and L. longiflora were studied in the Boubínský prales and Milešický prales old-growth forest reserves in the Šumava Mts., South Bohemia. Asexual reproduction was quantified as the number of 1{--}2 -celled gemmae produced per individual shoot. Numbers of gemmae per shoot among sampling months differed significantly as did the numbers of gemmae in samples among Lophozia ascendens, L. ventricosa and L. longiflora among sampling months. Germinability of gemmae was low in early spring, highest in August and September and slightly decreased in October. Spreading potential of gemmae was investigated in the epixylic hepatic Anastrophyllum hellerianum. Gemmae were trapped at different distances (0 {--} 10 m) and directions from the source colonies in two experiments: one was realized in the natural habitat within a forest and the other in an artificial set-up in the open habitat. Dispersal of gemmae showed slight distance dependence both in the natural and open habitats. Habitat requirements (e. g. decay degree, texture, bark cover, log diameter) of the L. ascendens and A. hellerianum were investigated in both reserves, 126 logs were found. Mostly tiny liverworts grew with L. ascendens and A. hellerianum. Both studied species occurred on logs with degree of decay 2 {--} 7 and degree of texture 2 {--} 6.

Effect of galanthamine on acetylcholinesterase activity in selected parts of the rat brain.
Fabiánová, Stanislava ; Herink, Josef (advisor) ; Semecký, Vladimír (referee)
The aim of this work was to determine the effect of galanthamine (GAL) in selected brain parts and hypophysis of the rat. As a marker of GAL effect was chosen a determination of activity of AChE. For determination of AChE activity was used colorimetric method according to Ellman. The activity of AChE was measured in the frontal cortex, hippocampus, septum, basal ganglia and hypophysis. GAL significantly decreased the activity of AChE in the frontal cortex, hippocampus, septum and hypophysis in the highest dose used of 10 mg/kg. The results obtained demonstrated a selective anticholinesterase effect of GAL.

This topic is very important since impairment of these functions significantly decrease quality of life after subarachnoid hemorrhage. The third chapter is focused on general data about subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracranial...

Development of the external economic balance of the Czech Republic and analysis of the influencing factors
Gajdušková, Kateřina ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Petříček, Václav (referee) ; Olšovský, Rudolf (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of the external economic balance and the influencing factors. It describes the development of individual accounts of the balance of payments from 1993 to 2010 and it mainly focuses on last years and on the time of financial and economic crisis. Consequently in accordance to the basic theoretical concepts, it defines factors which can influence the individual parts of the balance of payments, and it analyzes the mutual relations. On the basis of analysis of the trade balance, current account, basic balance and total balance it was confirmed that the Czech Republic does not have a high risk of external imbalance. But during the financial and economic crisis the external balance worsened, the export of goods and import of direct investment decreased, the balance of income worsened. It was also approved that the external and internal income significantly influence the external balance of the Czech Republic.

Adhesive force measurement of oligoester carriers
Páblová, Sylva ; Šnejdrová, Eva (advisor) ; Dittrich, Milan (referee)
The aim of this graduation theses was to study the adhesiveness of branched oligoesters under various testing conditions using Material testing machine Zwick/Roell T1-FR050TH.A1K and rheological properties using Brookfield digital viscosimeter DV-E. The maximum force (Fmax) required to detaching the polymer systems from substrate was measured for determination of adhesiveness of oligoesters. It was found that Fmax of branched oligoesters was significantly higher in comparison with Carbomera or Methylcellulose hydrogels. The increase of the maximal adhesive force is due to the growing consolidation force, the contact time and sample detachment velocity. There was a decrease of the viscosity of the adhesive polymers caused by increasing concentration of the branching component. The incorporation of the drug had a different effect on the viscosity of the various samples. The swelling of the adhesive polymers led to the decrease of the viscosity.

Squatting as a lifestyle of a part of young generation
Lebedová, Martina ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor) ; Valenta, Josef (referee)
The final thesis is aimed at qustions on squatting as one of the option of lifestyl of young generation. This subculture has been declining in the Czech republic for the last few years and a number of its followers has significantly decreased. This is one of the reasons why we offer an empirical probe into the rest of this alternative culture. In regard of a prevailing negative perception of this subculture by czech population, the work wants to confirm or rebut this apprehension. The final part describes the current squatting situation in the Czech republic and is trying to adumbrate a future of this alternative lifestyle.

Flat tax
Spišský, Jakub ; Marková, Hana (advisor) ; Boháč, Radim (referee)
RESUMÉ Application of flat tax in the Slovak Republic causes better allocation of income to state budget and reduces rate of repartitionings of income in the society. Moreover, from a long-time aspect, it stimulates economic growth and creation of investments. From an individual's and companies' point of view, the flat tax eliminates progressive taxation, which up to now affected mainly those who enjoyed success - those with higher income in the society. On the other hand, the flat tax implementation requires that the more successful companies or individuals pay less and the less successful ones pay more than they would under the progressive tax system, for the state to raise the same amount of money. Implementation of the flat tax instead of the progressive taxationis an important step in the right direction, but deffinitely not the final station. There is still a lot of discussion going on about the fairness of this form of taxation. It is not entirely true that everyone who works and earns income deduct from their income 19%. The reason for this is the system of exemptions - nondeductable minimum and the tax bonus for a child, which makes it possible to reach a negative tax. The higher the nondeductable minimum, the higher the taxation differences. Flat rate significantly decreased progressivity in the...

E-Government within Public Administration in the Czech Republic
Lechner, Tomáš ; Mates, Pavel (advisor) ; Polčák, Radim (referee) ; Smejkal, Vladimír (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to analyze the current implementation of information and communication technologies in public administration in the Czech Republic and its development. The presented results come from my partial researches of this area, which I was doing in the whole course of my doctoral study. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first part deals with review of various e-Government definitions and its objectives identification as e-Government has already become an integral part of public administration transformation process. There are also discussed individual e-Government development stages within the broader context of information society development as well as in the context of connections created within the European Union. The second part of the thesis deals with two different points of view of e-Government. The first one includes separate components and institutes of e-Government such as an electronic signature, data mailboxes and contact points of public administration. The second point of view is based on projects. There are mentioned both state level projects such as the Portal of public administration, information system of data mailboxes, Czech POINT, basic registries of public administration and resort level projects as well as projects of particular authorities. Typical examples of regional and local level e-Government projects, which are provided by municipalities, are also included in this part. The third part of the thesis deals with legal, economic, social and regional aspects of e-Government. Indivisible part of this chapter is precise identification and description of constraints that limit implementation possibilities of information and communication technologies within the public administration. These constraints must not be understood as barriers that have to be overcome at any costs or as barriers restraining development of e-Government, but as borders of properly defined space, where the electronization of public administration should operate. Correct understanding of these constraints can help to decrease failure risk of e-Government projects. One of these constraints is legal framework, which I suppose to be crucial and that is why I pay to it the most attention. Besides proving the stated working hypothesis there are given three recommendations for next development of e-Government in the Czech Republic. I suppose that e-Government is a meaningful part of transformation process of public administration and that while keeping some rules it can bring significantly positive results.

The Influence of Ownership Structures on Socio-Ecological Conflicts in the Peruvian Mining Sector
Nentwig, Stefan Jan Benedikt ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee)
I The analysis of ownership structures as aspect in the relationship of natural resources and intrastate conflicts is a relatively new field of study. This thesis contributes to this debate, by analyzing the case of Peru with its specific socio-environmental conflicts. Based on comprehensive literature, a logistic regression model will be applied in order to account for the specific effects of different patterns of ownership. With the distinction between local and national private actors, a new approach is offered. The results suggest that local ownership significantly decreases the likelihood of civil conflict, while foreign ownership increases it. However both statistical evidence and the conducted case study of the La Bambas mine suggest, that the relationship is more complex than originally expected.

Selected auxological aspects of autism in children
Blovská, Petra ; Zemková, Daniela (referee) ; Krásničanová, Hana (advisor)
5 Abstract Introduction. Autism is a severe developmental disorder with a neurobiological basis, whose etiology has yet to be fully clarified. It is a multi-factorial illness, influenced largely by genetic predispositions as well as external factors. The goal of this paper was to determine basic auxological attributes of male autistic patients with incomplete growth and to describe how this complex disorder of a developing brain alters somatic development of these severely ill individuals. Data and Method. The study is founded on transversal data of 69 boys from the whole of Czech Republic with the diagnosis child autism and age from 3,3 to 13,4 years. All patients were examined at the Department of Clinical Anthropology of the Pediatric Clinic, Motol University Hospital, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in the period from 2000 to 2008. Attributes that objectify state of growth, state of nourishment and cranium size were measured. A part of the study was also the evaluation of the influence of heredity on body height and cranium size. The collected auxological data were converted to SDS, the results were tested by means of a one-sample t-test. Results. Boys with autism have significantly decreased body height (x̄ = −0,36 ± 1,12, p = 0,010), midparental height in accordance with standards and...
