Kuthan, Pavel ; Papík, Richard (advisor) ; Vorlíčková, Blanka (referee)
Předmětem diplomové práce je přiblížení průběhu počátečního projektu a analýza informačního centra Památník Čestná vzpomínka, které obsahuje selekčně uspořádané informace o historii československých legií (1914- 1920) a jmennou databázi padlých a zemřelých čs. legionářů. Na základě trendu uchovávání historického a kulturního dědictví (který je dnes celosvětovým trendem v oblasti kultury, historie a informačních studií), do něhož je zapojen mimo jiných i Ústav informačních studií a knihovnictví Univerzity Karlovy v Praze, je cílem vzniku a existence tohoto informačního centra trvalé uchování informací k této kapitole našich dějin a těch, kteří ji tvořili. K tomuto cíli informační centrum využívá přímo celosvětové sítě internet pro maximalizaci přístupnosti k těmto informacím.

The introduction of diagnosis of new bacterial pathogens Inquilinus and Pandoraea isolated from patients with cystic fibrosis and determining their sensitivity to antibiotics
Šulcová, Romana ; Melter, Oto (advisor) ; Nyč, Otakar (referee)
Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common autosomal recessive hereditary disease. Nowadays, people, with this disease, because early diagnosis and treatment of other associated symptoms a better prognosis than a few years ago. CF is a disease that is subject to mutation of the CFTR (Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator) on the seventh chromosome. Defect in the CFTR protein leads to failure of resorption and secretion of electrolytes chloride channel and thereby creating viscous mucus in the lungs, which is the main cause of chronic bacterial infections of the lower airways. Among the most common pathogens causing severe respiratory infections in CF patients include: Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Burkholderia cepacia complex. In patients with CF is now showing in the airways of new bacterial species whose biological properties are not yet known and their role in the etiopathogenesis of the disease and epidemiology are not exactly known. In these days their detection is used by specific amplification methods, or sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene. Emerging pathogens such as the genus Pandoraea and Inguilinus that belong non-fermenting Gram-negative groups in the rods, and therefore are often exchange for other bacterial species that are phenotypically similar to them. Cultural diversity from the culturological perspective
Bártík, Robert ; Soukup, Václav (referee) ; Soukup, Martin (advisor)
The presented study focuses on themes related to the problem of cultural diversity and plurality, with the methodological usage of hermeneutics as a theory of understanding. The fact that every culture that developed over the course of history lives in the horizon of a completely specific world (a horizon and a context of appearance) implies the question of whether different cultures can mutually understand each other (which is related to the opportunities for mutual translatability of each other's languages and the structures) as well as questions related to the universality of a certain understanding of reality and it's dominant position as a worldview, which is spontaneously demanded by the scientific/technical paradigm of the Euro-Atlantic civilizational range. Today, this problem is reflected from various different positions. From the perspective of ecological crisis, we find it in conceptions of lasting maintainability; from perspective of philosophical reflection, we find it in the project of intercultural philosophy. For a concrete "demonstration" of cultural diversity and plurality, we opted to use the philosophical/religious system of Taoism because we thought that it was "different" enough to be a representative perspective for this study.

Effect of cryopreservation on mouse sperm.
Veselá, Kateřina ; Pěknicová, Jana (referee) ; Hortová, Kateřina (advisor)
Cryopreservation or freezing of sperm in the reproductive biology is still actual topic. Today is the only method used for sperm storage, whether for the purposes of assisted reproduction, or for scientific purposes. However, this method has a negative impact on such stored cells and is therefore still a subject of many studies. Among the main causes of sperm damage in rodents there are inappropriately selected cryoprotective agents, poor or no elimination of oxidative stress generated during cryopreservation, as well as a poorly chosen speed and temperature of freezing. Correctly chosen procedures and the composition of the media in which sperm are stored, can significantly affect the quality of sperm. This bachelor theses focuses on the influence of cryopreservation on mouse spermatozoa. The main impact of this method includes the effect of freezing on sperm DNA, plasma membrane, acrosome, and sperm motility.

The function and forms of the Chodsko's traditional costume in the past and present
Nová, Lucie ; Krupková, Jaroslava (referee) ; Štěpánová, Irena (advisor)
In this thesis, I described the evolution of the traditional clothing from the half of the 19th century until the 21st century. It was my concern to achieve a work of not only descriptive content, which I found so frequent. I sought also for the occasions for wearing the traditional costume, on what occasion, the way the traditional costume changes when the original materials changes. I looked for the reasons why and with what functionality it is still worn by people living today. Among the historical evolution, I put emphasis also on the recent form and function of the traditional clothing.

Social Aspects of the Mountain Teaching
Samiec, Tomáš ; Jandejsek, Petr (advisor) ; Milfait, René (referee)
The topic of this work is the Mountain teaching and its effects to contemporary social work. I analyze its particular thesis and their practical use. First chapter is about Blessings. I interpret their seemingly ambiguous meaning and I try to find, what they are about to say to us today. Next chapter is about some of following statements joined to interpersonal relationships. These thesis concure to previous blessings and execute previous chapter's thoughts. There is an evident theoretically-practical relationship between two of these chapters. The last chapter is about possibilities to execute these thoughts within contemporary conditions. But also I consider with question of church's place in the social area, because this question is interesting and not unique. But there is no doubt that church stanceis important due to helping others is an implementation of Mountain teaching's social aspects. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Adaptation of Children to a Foreign-Language Environment of a Nursery School and Learning a Foreign Language
I když si dítě částečně jazyk osvojí už ve školce, s dalším pokračováním výuky bude muset počkat až do třetí třídy. Dovednosti které získalo se ale po určité době vytratí, nebude li je používat. Mikveh: the phenomenon of Jewis solemity. Notes about newly discovered ritual baths in the Czech republic
Žahourová, Ivana ; Pargač, Jan (referee) ; Krupková, Jaroslava (advisor)
This baccalaureate work is devoted to the ritual purification of the Hebrew in mikva. Mikva is a Hebrew ritual bath which must fulfull certain religious regulations to be understood as properly religious. All the regulations and order regarding the functioning, construction and water, which is allowed to be used, are stated in Misna in the tractate Mikwa'ot. The basis for the ritual adequacy of mikva is water which should have inflow and outflow. Mikva serves to renew ritual cleanliness of a person who became ritually unclean. This ritual dates back to the times when Desater made a commandment to Sinaji. The first people who practiced the ritual were supposedly priests. Those were impurified after the contact with a dead body, carrion of an animal or a snake; after emission of semen or spermatorrhoea. During the times of the first Church the whole population including children cleaned themselves from different impurities. After the deconstruction of the Church the law regualting cleanliness and impurities changed. Today mikva is visited by women firstly before wedding, then after each menstruation period and after giving birth. Men are no longer obliged to practise the ritual after the deconstruction of the Church however even today orhodox Hebrew and chasids clean themselves before important Hebrew...
