The use of photographic collections of leaves in the teaching of plant morphology
MAJEROVÁ, Martina
This diploma thesis proposes a modern way of teaching leaf morphology in elementary school. It includes research that builds on the bachelor thesis ,,The leaf as an organ of higher plants - creation of photographic collection of leaves". The theoretical part contains an analysis of the objectives and trends of contemporary learning and teaching methods, and also summarizes the interconnection of teaching leaf morphology with the FEP. The practical part contains an interactive learning program with elements of inquiry-based education aimed at teaching leaf morphology. The research in this paper compares the quality of students' knowledge learned by the compiled program and the students learned the traditional way.

Public interest in decision making processes
Rut, Ondřej ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Moldan, Bedřich (referee)
Public interest is the key issue in almost every major decision making process. Actual meaning of the concept of public interest is vague and general, often influenced by ideological contexts. This paper deals with the concept of public interest both in practical and theoretical level. It investigates its origination and usage in law, economic and political science and in the context of contemporary sociological theories of modernity. The paper also notices the influence of expertise on constituting of public interests in public debates on certain construction projects. Practical part of this paper describes complicated decision making process of construction of highway D8 through protected area České středohoří and some aspects of other cases; it analyses opinions, approaches and tactics of stakeholders and finds parallels in theoretical ground.

Logic, form and argument
Nevrkla, Svatopluk ; Jirků, Petr (advisor) ; Gahér, František (referee) ; Šefránek, Ján (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to defend and explain the claim that traditional logical analysis is not the best tool for studying natural language argumentation. The most common critique directed at employment of logical formalisms as tools for analysis of the natural language is usually based on pointing out of differences between structure and semantics of natural languages and languages of logical formalisms. This is not the main issue, I believe. According to my findings the most fundamental problem of the traditional analysis is that it is based on many problematic epistemological assumptions, which are inherited from empiricist-positivist tradition. Namely the positivist version of the classical model of rationality as deductive reasoning from some basis of immediately verifiable and therefore unquestionable knowledge. The doctrine that every reasonable argumentation is reducible on deductions of such kinds is supposed to justify the traditional analysis of argumentation. My original contribution is mainly in showing that without abandoning those presuppositions, we cannot hope to arrive at better understanding of natural language argumentation by developing new and more precise logical formalisms. Logical formalisms are mere tools, which we have to use for the right purpose in the first place....

VÝVOJ ČESKÉHO DENNÍHO TISKU V POSLEDNÍCH LETECH A MOŽNOSTI JEHO PŘEŽITÍ V BUDOUCNOSTI
Bujna, Rudolf ; Soška, Milan (advisor) ; Říhová, Vladimíra (referee)
As well as abroad, in Czech Republic internet news replaces classical printed newspaper. Particularly, proponents of modern ways of communication say that traditional printed news as we know it could end in the near future. This dissertation aims to disprove these assumptions by analyzing relevant indicators and to outline possible trends in the industry.

Produkční a ekonomické hodnocení pěstování cukrovky při různých způsobech zpracování půdy
Jašková, Sabina
Sugar beet belongs to group of very importat crops in the agrotechnical and an economic terms. This dissertation deals with the evaluation of different variants of land processing and their influence on the amount of yield, sugar content and economy of sugar beet cultivation. The main experiment was conducted at the experimental field station in Žabčice. The evaluation was based on field experiment AGRO 2. As part of the crop rotation sugar beet was grown after winter wheat. Three variants of land processing were evaluated I. -- Classical with plowing, II. - Minimization technology (loosening), III. - Minimization technology (direct sowing). Three different methods of land processing were compared. Results achieved in years 2012 - 2014 were evaluated. Evaluation of the results showed that influence of land processing on yield of tubers was not statistically evidential. The highest avarage yield was found in the traditional processing with plowing. Influence of land processing was not statistically evidential even at the yield of rosette of leaves, but it was statistically evidential at sugar content. A certain tendency of increasing the sugar content at a lower land processing treatment was proven. Influence of the year was statistically evidential. Above standard was yield at the end of year 2014. After evaluation of the economic indicators of sugar beet, we can say that higher yields and the highest sales per 1 hectar were achieved, thanks to the classic land processing. Results of the study show that there is certain possibility of reducing depth and intensity of land processing for sugar beets. Of course the priority is to achieve good returns at lower costs. Minimal land processing is relatively fast expanding, and both ecological and economic advantages are connected with it.

Material Tensions between Natural Law and Positive Law and Approaches to its Solution
Kříž, Jakub ; Holländer, Pavol (advisor) ; Kysela, Jan (referee) ; Večeřa, Miloš (referee)
1 Material Tensions between Natural Law and Positive Law and Approaches to its Solution Jakub Kříž Abstract The title of my dissertation - "Material Tensions between Natural Law and Positive Law and Approaches to its Solution" - refers to everlasting contrapositions of two different approaches to law: (i) natural law tradition which is concerned with a necessary continuity between law and the requirements of practical reasonableness and that describes law as "rational standard for conduct"1 and (ii) tradition of legal positivism, which understands law only as a social fact. Actually, in the world of jurisprudence, there is no single natural law theory on one side2 and unique legal positivism on the other side.3 It is 1 MURPHY, Mark C. Natural Law Jurisprudence. Legal Theory. 2003, No. 9, p. 244, MURPHY, Mark C. Natural Law Theory. In: GOLDING , Martin P., EDMUNSON, William A. (eds.). The Blackwell Guide to the Philosophy of Law and Legal Theory. s.l. : Blackwell Publishing, 2006, p. 15. 2 For many of them we can mention classical natural law theory of the thomistic philosophy, new natural law theory of G. Grisez and J. Finnes, legal realism of J. Hervada, "modern" natural law theories such as L. Fuller's concept of the Rule of Law and the inner morality of law or R. Dworkin's theory of the unique right...

Using classic versus geometric morphometrics in anthropology
Pinkr, Tomáš ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Brůžek, Jaroslav (referee)
Shape differences and their analysis may reveal differences in the growth and morphogenesis, the influence of different evolutionary pressures, or the consequences of a disproportionate burden of the various parts of the body. Variability of some characters cannot be measured, but it can be observed and described verbally, or eventually described in photographs or schematically. A morphoscopy deals with it and currently beside the traditional direct visual observations also modern technology is utilized. Morphometry unlike morphoscopy is used for measurement and comparison of organism shapes and shape changes analysis. Outputs of morphometric examination are tables of numbers and mathematical and statistical operations are used to obtain information from these data. Current anthropology divides morphometry to two slightly different sets of methods a traditional morphometrics and a geometric morphometrics. The traditional morphometrics measures directly object of study using conventional measuring tools. Conversely, the geometric morphometrics analyzes object in the virtual space using sopfisticated instrumentation including special software. Display methods store information about geometry of the subject. Resulting databases are used not only for the original analysis but also for other research as...

The position and activities of the Czech Republic in the UN
Šlehoferová, Vanda ; Veselý, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Matějka, Zdeněk (referee)
The theme of this work is "The position and activities of the Czech Republic in the UN." Within this theme, I focused on the UN's role in ensuring international peace and security and foreign policy of the Czech Republic in relation to this main task of the UN as an organization of collective security. I have chosen this topic, because this issue has always been, is and will be current, as to ensure the peaceful development of all countries is a major challenge for the entire international community. On this issue also meet all the discipline that deal with international relations as such. As the Theory of International Relations and International Law, trying to find solutions that would prevent the outbreak of another war. In this paper I analyze the Czech foreign policy at three levels of analysis, at the level of the international system, on state level and on level of national institutions. At the level of the international system I describe reality from the perspective of international intergovernmental organizations, in this case the United Nations, using sociological institutionalism. At the state level I will analyze the Czech foreign policy in terms of classical realism, since it is at this level of analysis still the strongest and most influential theory of international relations. At the level of national institutions I analyze the Czech foreign policy in terms of the bureaucratic model. The thesis has three main chapters, equal to the three levels of analysis. The first chapter is dedicated to two theories of international relations, namely structural realism and social institutionalism. The theories and their views on reality of world politics are important, because at this level of analysis, I am trying to define the theoretical assumptions for the UN's role as an international sovereign. The second chapter is devoted to foreign policy of the Czech Republic in relation to the UN as a system of collective security, which is the optimum solution for the maintain security of the Republic as a small state. This chapter also highlights the tradition and prestige, which enjoyed Czechoslovakia as a founding member of the UN. The third chapter analyzes the internal processes that precede the formation of Czech foreign policy. In this regard, I focus primarily on national institutions. The analysis at this level is to see how the creation of foreign policy is a complex process, which is also derived from those political parties that are just in power.
