Relations of incidence of human defensin to cell cycle regulation in the airways mucosa
Pácová, Hana ; Astl, Jaromír (advisor) ; Slípka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šterzl, Ivan (referee)
The chronic inflammation in tonsilar (chronic tonsilitis) and nasal (polyposis nasi) tissue has quite a lot of similarities. The chronic inflammation and malignant transformation are biological processes controlled by many cytokines taking part in the process of cell to cell signaling and it is also known that chronic inflammation can be accepted as a factor facilitating the conversion of malignant process. The aim of this project was to follow and prove a potentional role of antimicrobial peptides, eNOS, VEGF, TGF- and the level of cell proliferation (Ki-67 marker) and apoptosis (cleaved caspase 3) in the development of nasal polyposis and chronic tonsillitis and to determine the relationship between the inflammatory and malignant processes in tonsils. Samples were obtained from patients with nasal septum deviation and SAS - sleep apnoe syndrom (as healthy controls), nasal polyposis, chronic tonsillitis and oropharyngeal carcinoma. Immunohistochemical procedures for detection of all studied substances and antigen determinants were carried out on cryostat and paraffin sections. (...) Summarizing it can be concluded that malign transformation can be facilitated by the attenuation of the local mucosal immunity (the reduction in beta-defensins synthesis - especially HBD-2) but also by hypoxia - the...

Vliv přípravy povrchu dřevěných povrchů před dokončením na kvalitu povrchové úpravy polyesterovými nátěrovými hmotami

The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the qualities of coating applied to a wooden material that had been adjusted by plasma treatment. During testing standard coating substances, were used ordinarily available and commonly used coating substances which are used in the wood processing industry. The physical-mechanical qualities were tested. The measurement results were statistically analyzed and discussed. The outcome of this thesis was extended to water-diluted coating substances.

Transport of charged and neutral particles across the model biomembranes
Parisová, Martina ; Stiborová, Marie (advisor) ; Moserová, Michaela (referee)
This work was focused on the preparation of model stabilized phospholipid membranes formed on porous polycarbonate carrier. 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholin was used for their formation in hydrophilic pores of polycarbonate carrier. For characterization of the formation of phospholipid layers, their changes and a study of transport processes, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and voltammetry were used. Transport of cadmium and copper ions was studied in the presence and in the absence of ionophore calcimycin which was incorporated into the formed of phospholipid membrane. Because these ions are often bound in complexes with various substances, such as low molecular weight organic acids (LMWOAs), this work was also focused on the transport of copper and cadmium ions across the model phospholipid membranes in the presence of malic acid, citric acid and oxalic acid at different pH. Besides the use of ionophore, some pilot experiments were performed to realize the transfer of copper ions using two peptides, nisin and transportan 10. Formation of phospholipid membranes and the transport processes were characterized by two proposed electric equivalent circuits which correspond to the covered and to the uncovered polycarbobate carrier. Keywords: Phospholipids, Membranes, Ionophore, Peptid....

Analysis of selected substances contained in the extract from elderberry twigs
Škeřík, Jan ; Flodrová, Dana (referee) ; Šalplachta, Jiří (advisor)
My diploma thesis deals with the optimization and verification of conditions for separation of proteins, which are contained in the twigs of elder (Sambucus nigra L.) using the technique RP-HPLC. The measurements were made with the use of a HPLC system with a UV-VIS detector. Column Zorbax 300SB-C18 300 4,6 x 250 mm and particles the size of 5 microns were used. The theoretical part describes the attributes and usage of elder and especially its proteins. The basic characteristic of the used HPLC technique is introduced. The possibilities of how to identify proteins are described. The practical part demonstrates the individual steps of optimization of the HPLC method applied to the mixture of standard proteins. The application of this method in the real sample is also reported. The final part of the diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of analysed samples taken in different seasons.

Compound adjectives in the works written during the National Revival
ŽIŠKOVÁ, Dana
The topic of this thesis covers the field of word-formation processes and describes the word-formation creativity of second revival generation authors, in particular compound adjectives. The poetry collections of selected second revival generation authors (F. L. Čelakovský, J. K. Chmelenský, J. V. Kamarýt and M. M. Z. Polák) are the source for compound adjectives research. The monograph of Dušan Šlosar Česká kompozita diachronně/Czech Compounds in Diachronic aspect (1999) is the source of methodology for this research. We have worked with terms: compound adjectives, compounding, derivative compounding, linking word, first and second part of a compound. The research target of this thesis is to classify the compound adjectives, to assess the meaning and use of compounds in text, to consider their communicative significance and to observe the frequency of compounds in the text of the authors.

Image analysis of microparticles prepared by spray drying method
Sedláček, Petr ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
ABSTRACT-EN In the thesis was demonstrated manitol as the proper model substance for optimization procedure of spray drying in Büchi Mini Spray Dryer B-290. Concentration of model polyol was in the range from 5 % to 15 %, the proper temperature in inlet part of device was 110 řC- 120 řC. The powder with low residual moisture was obtained, diameter of particles was around 5 micrometers. Effective were small concentrations of polydextrose and lecitine as additives in manitol.

A comparison of the properties of tablets from silicified microcrystalline celluloses of different particle size.
Nováková, Petra ; Mužíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
In the work is studied mechanical strength and disintegration time of tablets prepared by direct compression of the two form silicified microcrystalline celluloses - Prosolv SMCC 50 and Prosolv SMCC 90 according to the compression force (3; 3,5; 4kN), addition of lubricants (magnesium stearate, Pruv) and addition of model active substances (acetylsalicylic acid, ascorbic acid). Studied co-processed filler-binders differ by the size of elements. Used concentration of lubricants was 0,5 %, of model active substances 50 %. Tablet strenght and the disintegration time rise with the increasing compression force. The work confirms the low impact of the lubricants on the tablet strenght from microcrystalline celluloses (especially Prosolv SMCC 50). Prosolv SMCC 50 gives firmer tablets with longer disintegration time. The disintegration time of all of the tableting blends is increased by adding of lubricants as well, higher negative impact has magnesium stearate. The presence of model active substances decreases the strength of the tablets and accelerates the disintegration time of all of the tested compounds, in the mixtures with active substances was not applied negative impact of lubricats on the disintegration time (except of Prosolv SMCC 50 in mixture with ascorbic acid - the disintegration time was not...

Thinking of beginning and end of metaphysics. On Heidegger's title beginning (der Anfang)
Pětová, Marie ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Chvatík, Ivan (referee) ; Blecha, Ivan (referee)
The aim of this study is to help to clarify Heidegger's conception of metaphysics as "history of esse" (Geschichte des Seins), namely on the basis of one of his "leading" words (Leitworte), that is through the title "der Anfang" - beginning. The work tries to understand it using what the author terms as "anfängliches Denken", by following the initial grasp of esse.
