Interactions of PLGA oligoester with aqueous medium
Hašková, Veronika ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
In the theoretical part of this diploma theses is described mechanism of drug release from biodegradable polymers and conditions which influence this release process. The other part of the theses is directed to the characterization of the methods of the enhancing or reducing of release intensity. The structure, properties, synthesis and use of PLGA copolymers are mentioned. In the experimental part is referred on the study of PLGA matrices degradation in the aqueous medium at temperature of 7řC. The results achieved at this low temperature are compared with the same results of the same matrices behavior measured at the same conditions differing in the temperature of 37řC. These results were provided by my colleague Lenka Rufferova. The parameters of the samples were the swelling and erosion kinetics and acid number time evolution in the one-to-seven days time interval. The weight of the tested polyester samples were 50, 100, 150, and 250 mg. The results supported the earlier findings concerning typical pulse behavior of oligoesters of D,L lactic acid and glycolic acid during the degradation process.

The noun phrase in the spoken and written academic monologue
Slówik, Ondřej ; Šaldová, Pavlína (referee) ; Malá, Markéta (advisor)
Noun phrase is the most versatile type of phrase in English both in terms of its syntactic function and its complexity. Syntactically, it can serve as the realization form of any clause element except for the finite clause predicate. It can only perform the predicative function in verbless clauses (e.g. The door!), which are generally rare and stylistically marked. As far as its internal structure is concerned, the noun phrase may comprise a single word (e.g. London, I) but its complexity may increase considerably due to extensive modification (e.g. the second stunningly beautiful lady from London who arrived yesterday) The aim of this B.A. thesis is the analysis of the noun phrase structure in written and spoken academic monologue. Its task will be to prove the assumption that although the number of noun phrases in written and spoken academic monologues do not differ significantly, their structure and complexity is different. Spoken and written English differ in many aspects. Written language is usually prepared in advance whereas spoken language is always partially impromptu even if it is planned ahead of time. Generally, some kinds of linguistic structures, including complex phrasal structures, are difficult to produce in real-time circumstances. A speaker would also place himself in a complicated...

Comparison of the educational systems in the Czech Republic and Australia
Trojanová, Michaela ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Kubelková, Karina (referee)
I have chosen the topic of my bachelor thesis "Comparison of the educational systems in the Czech Republic and Australia" because of the constantly discussed issue of school fees at universities. The focus of my bachelor thesis is on Australia, where the system of the school fees at university education works, and the Czech Republic, where the possibility of the school fees is being only discussed. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to compare these two educational systems, especially their tertiary educational stages. The thesis deals with the advantages and disadvantages of these systems and their pros and cons on the basis of the SWOT analysis. The theoretical part of my thesis offers the characteristics of the educational systems both in the Czech Republic and Australia. The thesis analyses in detail the tertiary education in both countries and it also outlines the reform of the tertiary education in the Czech Republic. The thesis deals with the question why there should be the reform of tertiary education in the Czech Republic. The analytical part of the thesis compares both educational systems by means of parametres such as institutional frames, funding of educational systems, structure of educational systems, and the assertion of university graduates at the job market. One chapter focuses on the school fees in Australia and there are inspiring suggestions for potentional implementation of the school fees at Czech state colleges and universities. The end of the thesis asks the question whether it is possible to apply at least partially positive aspects of the tertiary education of Australie to the Czech Republic.

Epistemologic limits of selected approaches to language
Beneš, Martin ; Lehečková, Eva (referee) ; Macurová, Alena (advisor)
The aim of this text is to comment and critically evaluate the epistemology of selected approaches to language: namely European structuralism (Saussure, Hjelmslev, Prague School), generative grammar, the linguistics of la parole and text linguistics and cognitive approaches to language. In particular, the aim is to comment epistemological limits of these approaches with regards to the two basic facts. Firstly, with regard to the fact that what these approaches define as their object field is in fact only a partial section of the whole subject field of linguistics (looked upon through the purposes of this work as a specifically structured communication model). Secondly, this text will investigate the relations between these approaches and an important claim of the philosopher of science T. S. Kuhn. Kuhn in his widely known book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions says: "There is, I think, no theory-independent way to reconstruct phrases like ‚really there'." (Kuhn, 1970, p. 206). That means whether claims based on epistemology of particular approaches describe objective reality or only give us a description of their own theoretical constructs.

Visual experince as example and pattern in relation to the expansion and influence into human life
Nohejl, Jiří ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Vojtěchovský, Miroslav (referee)
The main theme of this dissertation is to define an image as a visual experience. The human interaction is described by the author himself as a perception of the image, which serves as an information unit that could be presented as a possibility, example and pattern for the individual. There is an emphasis on the process of perception itself and on the way of interaction of an individual emphasizing the context of social learning and imitation in this text. The analysis of the principles of this interaction leading into introduction of the partial interactive models covering these processes is formed by the essential plane. The structure of the thesis is divided into ten main chapters in which the author tries to introduce a category of perception, a definition of the image and imitation as a tool of cultural transmission, presentation of the units of this transmission, the process of the interaction itself and analogous example of the fundamental role that a person in this interaction holds. There are also three analogies of these roles, which refer to the anthropological universal interaction describing the man as a gatherer and hunter. Their main purpose is to illustrate the form of a human experience better. Finally, there are reflections on the topic above. The possibilities and results, which...

The relations of the USA and China on the current and financial account of the balance of payments
Šebestová, Kateřina ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Jiránková, Martina (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to analyse relations between the United States and China on the current and financial account of the balance of payments in the quantitative and the qualitative point of view and to evaluate the impact of mutual operations on the external equilibrium. The partial objective of the thesis is to create the entry analysis for assessment of the global imbalances of the current accounts. Current external imbalances and mutual trade and investment relations between the USA and China are the key factors of the global imbalances. The thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is theoretical and it is divided into two component parts. The first part is dedicated to the definition of single components of the balance of payments (current, financial and capital account), to its determinants and to mutual relations. The balance of payments theory is based on IMF's methodology. In the second part of the first chapter are introduced the main approaches to the balance of payments, the income (keynesian, multiplier), price (elasticity) and monetary approach. The analysis of the relations in terms of balance of payments is presented in the second chapter. The current account relations are assessed in the first part of the second chapter with the focus on domestic savings, investment, processing trade and effect of the Chinese monetary policy on mutual relations. The second part of the thesis deals with financial account matters, especially with Chinese build-up of the foreign exchange, American federal debt and character of the investment that flows between the USA and China.

Search and selection of candidates

Analysis of Cross-border Mergers on the Czech Market in the Period 2018-2015
Plucarová, Iveta ; Žárová, Marcela (advisor) ; Skálová, Jana (referee)
This Master's thesis concerns cross-border mergers on the Czech market. The aim of the thesis is to identify their main trends. Though the theory of both cross-border and domestic mergers is mentioned, the emphasis is placed on the analytical part. The analysis is based on real life data of mergers which were realized from 2008 till 2015 and in which a Czech company took part. The research focuses on the development of quantity and type of cross-border mergers whose project was filed in the public register, quantity of finished mergers, number of participating companies and the country under whose legal system the participating companies operate, the position of Czech companies, ownership structure of participating companies, their legal form, reasons for realization of mergers, exchange ratio, decisive day assessment in relation with the balance sheet date and processing time of a cross-border merger.
