Payment morale as a factor in competitiveness
Malegová, Emília ; Černohlávková, Eva (advisor) ; Nejedlý, Michal (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to contradict or to prove a statement that payment morale of Czech companies has deteriorated because of the current financial crisis. First chapter characterizes a trade credit and risks associated with it. It provides a procedure to lower risks using credit management in order to prevent bad debts. Bad debts always result in higher costs for companies and threaten their stability, payment morale as well as its competitiveness. Second chapter describes institutions which examine payment morale of companies in the world. Based on their research, payment morale of Czech companies is evaluated in comparison with neighbouring and European countries. It also examines changes in credit management of companies during the crisis as one of the factors that influences their payment discipline.

HER2/neu and other markers in breast tumours.
Celbová, Lenka ; Doležel, Martin (referee) ; Hochmann, Jiří (advisor)
2. SUMMARY Author: Bc. Lenka Celbová Tutor: MUDr. Jiří Hochmann, CSc. Title of a work: HER-2/neu and other markers in breast tumours Diploma work Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Study programme: Healthcare bioanalytics The aim of our diploma work is to bring an overview of the tumour marker HER- 2/neu especially with focus on its activation, laboratory detection, relation to hormonal receptors, its role in tumorgenesis of breast carcinoma and also on the examination of its prognostic importace and its relation to the breast cancer treatment. In the clinical part of this review work we target especially the prognostic and predictive value of HER-2/neu. In many studies, a bad prognosis of HER-2/neu positive breast cancer was confirmed. In this connection the importance of determination of extracellular domain HER-2/neu in serum was examined in the literature. It is proved, that observation of this parameter is useful for monitoring of the patients with HER-2/neu positive carcinomas and there is also proved its predictive importance for the trastuzumab treatment. Another topic investigated in this work is expression of HER-2/neu de novo. Two studies, we found, confirm the opinion, that an amplification of HER-2/neu de novo can...

Analysis of prescription and potential drug interactions in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
Antoušková, Helena ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Rudolf, Kamil (referee)
Background: Concurrent use of multiple drugs often increases therapeutic effectiveness, but very often may also pose a risk for drug interactions. These may result in severe clinical manifestation, if they are not paid an attention and unproperly managed. Aim: To assess percentage of potential drug interactions in the population of patients with diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and suggest their management. Methods: 177 patients with IBD (84 male, 93 female, mean age 36,9, range 16 - 78, 117 CD, 60 UC) enrolled. Their complete medication was gained by means of an interview and subsequently evaluated and processed with Thomson MICROMEDEX® DRUG - REAX® System to reveal potential drug interactions. All the identified drug interactions were taken as potential. There was no prove if patient was harmed by them. Results: In CD, the most prescribed drugs were aminosalicylates (39 %), corticosteroids (both topical and systemic)(21 %) and immunosupressants (23 %). The other prescribed medicines were proton pump inhibitors, iron containing preparates, probiotics and TNF-α inhibitors. In UC, the most prescribed drugs were aminosalicylates (51 %), corticosteroids (both topical and systemic)(22 %) and immunosupressants again (13 %). The other prescribed medicines were proton pump inhibitors, iron...

The pharmacotherapy of dyslipidemia
Řeháčková, Renata ; Melicharová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Trejtnar, František (referee)
Dyslipidemia (DLP) represents one of the most significant risk factors of atherosclerosis. Results of many clinical studies proved that effective treatment of dyslipidemia markedly decreases cardiovascular risk. Hypolipidemic treatment becomes one of the most effective treatment options (modalities) in prevention of CHD (coronary heart disease) and other cardiovascular diseases. Basic approach of the DLP treatment is nonpharmacologic therapy, e.g. change of life habits, stop of smoking, change of dietary habits, regular exercise, reduction of abnormal weight. In primary prevention settings the pharmacotherapy should commence after the failure of 3 to 6 months nonpharmacologic measures. In secondary prevention in patients with CHD it is recomended to start DLP treatment immediately, at the latest on release from the hospital. The care for the patient with hyperlipoproteinemia is comprehensive and should include rational control of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, adequate treatment of CHD and complications of atherosclerosis. The statins are the choice of medication in isolated hyperlipoproteinemia. If the target values are not reached by monotherapy, combination therapy by statin end ezetimib may be tried. The choice of lipid lowering drug should be decided on the major metabolic abnormality. When...

Měření výkonnosti veřejných muzeí umění
Prokůpek, Marek ; Riedlbauch, Václav (advisor) ; Machek, Ondřej (referee) ; Wagner, Jaroslav (referee)
The issue of the economics of cultural institutions, their economic impact, and measurement of their performance has been paid systematic attention basically only in the past few years. PhD thesis analyses the methods of performance measurement in public art museums and creates economic models. Aim of my thesis is also to create a model for museum managers to measure the performance. Nowadays it is almost necessary to integrate performance measurement system in organization´s strategy decision making. The museum managers feel the pressure to prove that their organization is performing well by various stakeholders and we perceive the idea that multidimensional performance measures could fill the informational gap concerning performance, quality, and the artistic value of cultural programs. The mixed research method was employed in this research. Qualitative data was obtained from the questionnaire and interviews. Quantitative data was obtained from the questionnaire, annual reports and reports of The National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture (NIPOS). The aim of this study is to propose a comprehensive multidimensional model to assess art museum activities. This model takes into account the scope and character of museum´s mission. This model consists of implementation of Data Envelopment Analysis into Balanced Scorecard.

Antonín Macek: the poet, publicist and writer
Konvalinka, Filip ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Vaněk, Václav (advisor)
The present study Antonín Macek: the poet, the publicist and the prosaist is concerned with the works of Antonín Macek, one of the forgotten Czech authors of the first two decades of twentieth century. The literary science has not taken the sufficient account of his artistic legacy so far. Just the marxistic theorists in the second half of twentieth century has perused his writings and viewed Macek's merely as a revolutionary socialistic writer with respect to his leftist politics (displayed especially in his journal articles). Our main purpose is to prove that this view is quite simplified and that Macek's work at full is much richer. For this purpose we tried to restore all the original editions of Macek's writings (especially his poems and tales) to reach new and current interpretation. We attempted to specify his apparently solitary place in the history of Czech literature by marking out his relations to more remarkable writers of Macek's epoch (such as S. K. Neumann, F. X. Šalda, J. S. Machar, M. Marten, O. Theer etc.) and incorporate his works in the field of opposed contemporary styles (such as symbolism, social poetry, nature lyrics, proletary poetry etc.). We have applied special respect to religious aspects of Macek's writings, which were depreciated by the latter marxistic interpreters. Our...

Lelkova hypotéza
Bartošová, Dana ; Simon, Petr (advisor) ; Balcar, Bohuslav (referee)
Lelek's conjecture which states that metric continua with span zero are chainable has been one of the most widely investigated problems in continuum theory over the past 40 years. We broaden our field of interest to non-metric continua and prove that if there is a non-metric counterexample to Lelek's conjecture we can convert it to a metric one. For a continuum X we take the lattice of all of its closed subsets 2X and consider a countable elementary sublattice L of 2X that we represent by a metric continuum wL via the Wallman representation for distributive lattices. By means of set theory, we obtain an L such that X is not chainable if and only if wL is not chainable and X has span zero if and only if wL has span zero. In the proof of the latter we use Shelah's theorem stating that every two elementarily equivalent models have isomorphic ultrapowers.

An extensible attribute framework for ProCom
Štěpán, Petr ; Malohlava, Michal (referee) ; Bureš, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the attributes concept of ProCom, a component model developed within The Progress Centre for Predictable Embedded Software Systems. Attributes are pieces of information of various types and levels of abstraction associated with the ProCom entities during the development of a system. Based on the analysis of the development process envisioned by Progress, the requirements for the attributes of ProCom entities are identified, and various alternatives of realizing attributes are analyzed. The chosen solution of highly structured, multi-valued, and extensible attributes is elaborated. The thesis also consists of the design and the prototype implementation of an attribute framework realizing and proving the feasibility of the proposed concepts. The framework addresses the needs of all actors involved in working with attributes throughout the development of a system: It provides an extensible, modular GUI for viewing and editing possibly highly complex information contained in atributes, an interface for the programmatic access to attributes, and well-defined mechanisms for extending the attribute pool by new attributes, new attribute types, and means for their manipulation. The framework is integrated into the Progress IDE, the main tool supporting the Progress development.
