The influence of modern technologies on teaching geography

This diploma thesis aims to ascertain on the basis of the qualitative research how are tablet computers used in geography lessons, what positive and negative aspects are found and if using of the tablet computers can influence a conception of geography lessons. The main aim is achieved by doing qualitative interviews with lower secondary teachers of geography. To achieve the main aim it as initially necessary to achieve artial aims. Firstly, the term modern technology was defined. Afterwards, the specific technology which will be examined in this diploma thesis in relation to a change the way of teaching was described. The description of pros and cons of utilization of tablet computers in classes was used in the creation of the scenario for the interview. Each teacher can influence teaching with his own approach as well as his attitude, which is involved in the preparation of lessons and the choice of using tablet computers. Essential partial aim is to describe the qualitative research after which the questionnaire could be created and interviews performed and evaluated. The gifted pupils' learning strategies at the Primary School

The diploma thesis deals with the learning styles in a connection with the teaching strategies, especially their use by the gifted pupils from the fifth year of the primary school. The theoretical part describes the concepts of learning style and learning strategies from the several authors' point of view of, but it also deals with the characteristic features of a talented pupil in the younger school age. The theoretical part prepares the reader to understand the empirical part, which is crucial for the diploma thesis. The subject of the study is a group of eight gifted pupils from the fifth grade of the primary school who are attending an educational program for the exceptionally gifted pupils. The aim of the empirical part is to analyze pupils' own preference of the learning strategies and to map their situation. Thanks to the methods of the research such as the interviews, an observation, methods for developing the learning strategies and a questionnaire research, the goal of the qualitative empirical work has been fully achieved. Teaching of the topics "Protection of human beings for common risks and emergencies" at elementary and secondary schools

This diploma thesis deals with the topics of "protection of human beings for current risks and incidents", which are part of the individual subjects taught in primary and secondary schools. These topics are currently a very important component of primary and secondary education. Pupils or students need to improve their knowledge of these issues related to the protection of the population. In case of these emergencies, pupils or students are required to show responsible behavior, to be able to orientate themselves in the given situation, to help the affected people and to call the rescue forces to the site. Teachers at elementary and secondary schools who have education in the field of population protection and pass on information to pupils or students using teaching aids and aids. I asked the individual teachers about the subjects they are teaching. Themes are integrated into many subjects, such as education for health, man and the world of work, man and his world, civic education, but also primary education at elementary school, natural science or biology, chemistry or physics. Framework education programs for primary and secondary schools include topics related to the protection of the population. At the school level, they present school education programs issued by the individual school heads, and according to these programs, the education is carried out at individual schools.

Zoo clubs in the Carlsbad region and their use in extracurricular activities

The goal of this work is to create overview of the zoo clubs in the Carlsbad region. The clubs with their existence and activity contribute to enhance and consolidate curriculum within each output not only in Biology but also in environmental education. In the first part of this work there are summarized data dedicated to the history of the zoo clubs in the Czech Republic. I deal with their distribution according to the criterias given and present status of the zoo clubs within free time activities. The special attention is dedicated to the history of the extinct zoo clubs in the Carlsbad region, to the plans of their future arrangements and recovery in this region, mainly future construction of the zoo. The second part deals with each zoo club in detail. In the last part I deal with animal species, their acquisition and adoption. There are information about extracurricular activities in each institution, like lectures, clubs and camps. Web pages are the integral part of each zoo club because they often inform about present and future activities within extracurricular activities. Geography teaching of students with a specific learning disabilities

My thesis "Geography teaching of students with a specific learning disabilities" is concerned with specific learning disabilities related to lessons of Geography. It presents the ways of manifestation of the issue in educational process and, subsequently, the effective solutions in a form of recommendations usable in lessons of Geography. The practical part is based on the assumption of displays of certain learning disabilities that may occur in lessons of Geography. The ways how the disabilities may be displayed were estimated through studying available literature in question. Based on the above Frame Education Programme for Elementary Education was analysed. Certain proposals have been worked out for the items that seem to be problematic for pupils with dyslexia and dyscalculia. The proposals are presented in a common format usual in Geography lessons and, subsequently, in adjusted format to be checked if it is easier to understand to the corresponding pupil's. The practical part contains adapted tasks, pupils work description in Geography lessons, and analysis of results. The results represent comparing success rates of both the versions, and potential additional information acquired from pupils. Descriptive Geometry Teaching in the Czech Lands

This thesis documents the history of descriptive geometry teaching in the Czech lands from its beginnings (i.e. from the 1830s) to the World War II. The center of the work is the description of development of descriptive geo- metry teaching at secondary schools, especially "Realschule�, supplemented with an analysis of Czech secondary school textbooks and a brief comparison between the situation in the Czech lands and foreign countries. Attention is also paid to the characterisation of descriptive geometry lectures at Czech and German polytechnics and universities in Prague, Brno and Příbram, inclusive of university textbooks. The work also mentions a brief global de- velopment of projection methods and a contribution of Czech geometers to the development of descriptive geometry. The thesis is supplemented with large factual and pictorial addenda.
Problematic situations in teaching physical education in primary schools (primary education)

This thesis is focused on the formation of problematic and critical situations during physical education lessons at primary schools. Its task is to examine how teachers progress in their solution making and how they draw recommendations for practice from it. The theoretical part defines the concepts and theoretical basis og the area of discipline, safety and physical education for children. The research was conducted by questionnaire form which was sent to 22 primary schools. 72 filled forms were sent back for evaluation. Then I conducted additional individual interviews with two teachers from the elementary school Kunratice. The practical part analyzes the results of a survey and interviews with teachers. The results of this work show that problematic and critical situations within physical education classes occur. Art education for pupils with special needs

This thesis is focused on assessing applications of educational contents and goals of the subject Art in the school for pupils with special educational needs. Firsly are characterized the Framework educational programme and School educational programme. Consequently is analyzed the content of School educational program at Elementary and Practical school Svítání, o.p.s. Through action research there are compared the contents of the above binding documents with reality of teaching in the school, which deals with the education of pupils with special educational needs. Action research was realized through video record, transcriptions and analysis of recorded lessons, evaluation of used forms and methods in teaching practice, suggestions and subsequent implementations of didactic art education project with pupils of this school. The work with Framework and School educational programme revealed that the School educational programme subjected to analysis is too focused only on art techniques and specific themes, almost disregards Framework educational programme and very limitedly works with curriculum or expected outcomes discussed herein.
