Comparison of the Programmes of the Green Party in the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and the Czech republic in the years 1990 - 2014
Veselá, Martina ; Stracený, Josef (advisor) ; Lánský, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis compares the electoral programmes of green political parties in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Austria, and the Czech Republic in the years 1990- 2014, namely the German party Alliance '90/The Greens, the Austrian party The Greens - The Green Alternative, and the Czech Green Party. The beginning of the work provides an explanation of the concepts related to green politics, such as ecology, environmentalism, environment and sustainable development, whose knowledge is essential for understanding the major themes of the electoral programmes. Subsequently, the origin and history of all three political parties are outlined. The actual comparison is performed in a twofold manner. The first one compares the content of a specific programme with the previous ones and the second one compares the programmes of all three green parties for the same or the close electoral period. Furthermore, the format of individual programmes is characterized. Attention is focused on the major thematic areas, similarities and differences, and on the position of these parties before and after a particular parliamentary election being held.
Analysis of the debates of the candidates in the 2nd round of direct presidential election in the Czech Republic in the context of the political campaign
Rozsypal, Michael ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Švec, Kamil (referee)
This diploma thesis analyses the debates of the two candidates who passed to the second round of the Czech direct presidential election in 2013. Primarily focuses on the debates in the public service media - Czech Television and Czech Radio. To put into context the whole campaign will briefly examine the debates on commercial TV stations as well. The thesis applies content analysis as the methodology. It measures how often both candidates (Miloš Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg) mentioned their officially declared programme theses in a total of six debates on television and radio. The campaign is also presented more broadly in order to put the analysis into a wider context. Only programmes officially designated will be considered for the analysis so as to secure its accuracy. A quantitative analysis of the content will be applied in order to measure the frequency of programme theses in the debates researched. The principal goal of the thesis is to confirm or disconfirm the hypothesis that programme theses do not play such an important role in a political campaign in general, nor in candidate debates. I focus on the aspect of how different debates were and in which type of media presidential candidates presented the higher number of their programme theses.

The work "Changes in Social Policies in Election Programs of Political Parties since 1993" focuses on the perception of social policies by entities active on the political stage in the Czech Republic. Social policy represents one of the most interesting and most important policies for common citizens and also voters in the Czech Republic. This field encompasses not only the subject of social topics, but also health, housing and education policies. After gathering all of the available election programs, there is a description of several selected political parties and movements. It is focused on the portion of social policy within the whole program (word count), its placement and basic content divided into four groups: social policy, health policy, education policy, and housing policy. Afterwards, the parties are divided into subgroups and in the next three chapters they are compared with each other. It is a comparison of right-wing, centrist, and left-wing parties, a comparison of parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties, and in the end a comparison of traditional and non- traditional parties. Here, the focus is mainly on the word count and the size of social policy in the context of the whole program. Content definition is difficult and in the analysis it is only touched upon. At the end of...
