Fitness Map Application
Hrůza, Tomáš ; Drga, Jozef (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
As the world continues to evolve and expand, the need for modern solutions rapidly grows. Large portion of the population tends to keep track of their lifestyle which in turn provides an opportunity for companies to create many different fitness devices and applications. The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to provide a new kind of motivation to get out into the world, provided by yet another web application. However this application provides its user with motivation in the form of a minigame - the user travels through the world and the application then calculates the area he captures using a Voronoi diagram based on his route. Another feature the application provides is viewing your routes in a merged, averaged form. This comes in handy when the user would like to approximate his actual route over several different activities. The first part of this bachelor's thesis collects information about different commonly used fitness applications. Out of all those a web application called Strava was chosen as a base for collecting user data. The resulting web application connects to Strava using OAuth and retrieves routes the user has collected using the Strava mobile application. One of the last chapters focuses on describing the implementation details about used and created algorithms. It additionally contains description of scripts which were used to extract data out of OpenStreetMap database and calculate Voronoi regions based on them. To store and search through calculated regions, a MySQL database is used. The application is  developed using modern frameworks and is heavily oriented around a comfortable user interface and responsive web design.
Mobile App for Monitoring the Condition of Bike Parts

The thesis deals with the creation of a mobile application that allows to monitor the condition of bicycle components.  The application is implemented in React Native, Firebase services are used for data storage and authentication. The resulting solution provides the user with the ability to record mileage and ride time for individual components and bikes, and to record the state of wear and services performed on components. Mileage and ride time are obtained from the ride records, which the user can enter manually using a form or sync with their Strava account.  The resulting app is available on Google Play under the name Bike Components Manager.
Suitable and Short-term Nutrition for Optimal Sport Performance in Sports Aerobics
Břízová, Tereza ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on appropriate and short-term nutrition for optimal sports performance of sports aerobics. It determines Individual approach to nutrition based on nutritional records and questionnaire survey. It also compares dietary differences in girls aged 15 and 17-18 years. The theoretical part of this thesis briefly touches information related to sports aerobics, its history, categories as well as its body burden. It also focuses on sports nutrition itself, where energy metabolism, individual macronutrients and micronutrients, supplements or drinking regime are described in more detail. Last, but not least, the correct diet setting is mentioned. The practical part deals with the eating habits of girls in sports aerobics. Significant nutritional deficiencies can be seen from the nutritional record, the questionnaire survey, and their personal data. The athletes processed their nutritional records together with a questionnaire in November, a period when they are preparing for the upcoming season and rehearsing choreography. From the results of the work, we can conclude that all girls are in a long-term caloric deficit. They have insufficient amounts especially of protein and carbohydrates in their diet. Some girls skip morning or afternoon snacks and thus have their daily...
Comparison of eating habits of middle and older school age girls at selected primary school
Náplavová, Enrica ; Thorovská, Alena (advisor) ; Kočí, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the eating habits of girls in elementary school. The goal was to find out whether there are certain differences in the way they eat between middle- aged and older school-age girls at a selected primary school. Whether their eating habits differ due to their age. The sub-targets therefore focus on how many times a day the girls eat, if they have a cooked diet each day, whether they eat breakfast and, if so, how regularly. The theoretical part is devoted to information about nutrition, nutritional components and nutritional value of food. Subsequently, it focuses on the distribution of school age, the main principles of a child's diet, important components of the diet and the common mistakes related to the overall diet of children. Last but not least, the most common problems related to eating habits, such as eating disorders or, conversely, overweight or obesity, are also mentioned. The practical part contains a questionnaire, which was attended by a total of 132 girls. In particular, 66 girls of middle school age and 66 girls of older school age. The girls used a semi-structured questionnaire to answer questions about their eating habits. The investigation took place at the Šumperk Primary School, Šumavská 21, under the leadership of Mrs. Mgr. Martina Winklerová,...
The use of stable isotopes in the trophic ecology of birds
Rusnáková, Michaela ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Procházka, Petr (referee)
Recently, the use of stable isotope analysis has been becoming increasingly common in ecological studies of animals. This interesting method is based on the premise that the isotope composition of consumer's tissues is related to the isotope composition of the sustenance consumed. This allows us to explore the contribution of individual food sources to the diet of species, populations or individuals, and at the same time to study their position in the trophic chains. The method enables us to research even omnivores, consuming variable food with different nutrients and isotope composition. Nevertheless, isotope values can differ depending on diet preferences, species physiology and the tissue type used for the analysis. This review summarizes current knowledge and results in the topic of stable isotope analysis, particularly in ornithological studies where the approach in question has been used to study the diet and trophic position. Perception of individual variation in body odour in human adults
Fialová, Jitka ; Havlíček, Jan (advisor) ; Schaal, Benoist (referee) ; Stopka, Pavel (referee)
The thesis consists of two parts. The first part introduces the topic of human chemical communication and reviews current evidence on individual variation in human body odour and its perception. This part is framed by sexual selection theory. In the first chapter, the concept of the theory of communication is introduced followed by a discussion on the specifics of chemical communication. Next, the formation of individually specific body odour signatures with reference to skin glands, their volatile products and the subsequent metabolization by skin microflora is described. The next chapters are dedicated to selected interindividual body odour cues such as sex and kin recognition, genetic compatibility in genes of Major Histocompatibility Complex, and health and reproductive status in a mate choice context. Furthermore, interactions between perfumes and body odours are discussed. Finally, methods of body odour sampling are introduced and a rationale behind presenting individual samples or body odour blends is discussed. The second part is comprised of six scientific papers, specifically three reviews and three empirical studies. Review papers summarize factors affecting human body odour quality with emphasis on diet and affective states. The first text shows that human body odours contain cues to...
Celiac disease and issues of kid's eating habits in school canteens
Valachová, Aneta ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis is focused on catering for pupils with celiac disease in school canteens. The first part, the theoretical one, deals with the disease itself; it gives basic information about the disease, its history, main symptoms, anatomy of healthy digestive system, and the most common health problems occurring when suffering from celiac disease. At the end of the theoretical part diagnosis of the disease is described as well as suitable and unsuitable diet food for celiac and food legislation. The practical part is a survey focused on catering for pupils with celiac disease at selected elementary schools. The survey was conducted in two regions in Valašské Meziříčí and in Prague. In the final part of my thesis special gluten-free menus for schools are suggested. The pedagogical outcome of my thesis is a lecture on celiac disease which can be held at elementary school s to help pupils find out basic information about this disease.
Healthy Lifestyle of Secondary Schools Youth in Teplice
Fürst, Roman ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The diploma thesis addresses the lifestyle of the high school students in Teplice; in particular their healthy lifestyle. In the theoretical part, basic information about a healthy lifestyle is summarized. At the same time, the lifestyle information is introduced, which relates to healthy diet, eating habits, fluid intake, motion activity and sleep. Furthermore, the determinants harmful to human health are introduced in this part; i.e. alcoholic beverages overconsumption, smoking or excessive mental strain. The practical part is aimed at mapping the major factors of the high school youth's lifestyle in Teplice and to ascertain whether the taught subject focused on health and healthy lifestyle influences the students and their attitude to a healthier lifestyle. I evaluated the questionnaire survey by means of self-made evaluation methods based on the healthy lifestyle principles. The reason was that none of the discovered methods for poll evaluation corresponded with my needs. The results are clearly arranged in the attached tables and demonstrated in the charts. The health based subject taught at school proved to have only a minor impact on the healthy lifestyle of high school students. The appendix includes the sample of the evaluation method created by myself, the questionnaire applied for the...
