Development of Application for Mutliple Mobile Platforms
Seidl, Viktor ; Charvát, Lucie (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
In general, there are several platforms for mobile application development. This bachelor thesis is also related to the development of applications for platforms such as Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Xamarin technology is a suitable tool for unifying all three platforms. Xamarin belongs to the technology of .NET framework and it is based on the open-source Mono project. With this technology, an application called Mobilní Objednávání Kredit 2 was created for the bachelor thesis. The application serves for ordering meals in the Kredit system from ANETE spol. s r.o. For the purpose of this work, the application was improved for the Android platform and then compared to the available version of the application developed in the Java programming language. The application was successfully programmed for Android and iOS platforms and then uploaded to the appropriate stores on the platforms where the applications are offered to users.
Conference Information System
Bednář, Martin ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The .NET platform offers several frameworks, technologies and approaches for web applications development. A good survey of these technologies is necessary for selecting effective implementation technologies. The aim of the thesis was to create a conference information system as a web application on the .NET platform for the non-profit organization Zámecké návrší, p.o. including its deployment and operation in the production environment. Prior to the development, it was necessary to familiarize myself with the .NET platform and compare the frameworks for web development. The bachelor thesis presents the suitability of individual frameworks for different types of applications. Based on the .NET analysis, DotVVM framework was chosen to implement the conference information system. The development of application logic proceeded with the test-driven development method. Combining appropriate frameworks, technologies, and approaches has lead to effective development with the successful creation of a secure and fast web application.
Implementation of HDLC protocol in network simulators
Polášek, Jaromír ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibility of using HDLC (High-Level Data Link Control) protocol for communication and addressing of smart metering devices with a data concentrator. The HDLC protocol is used in two DLMS/COSEM (Device Language Message Specification/Companion Specification for Energy Metering) communication profiles. To simulate these communication profiles, the most appropriate simulation program is selected. Using this simulator, the first communication profile is implemented and the second one is designed. Communication profile based on TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) has been fully implemented. To implement the three-layer HDLC communication profile, all options have been thoroughly explored. Using these findings, a process was designed to guide the full implementation. For the first communication profile the qualitative parameters are measured, which are then plotted and evaluated.
Control of a model with CAN protocol
Procházka, Matěj ; Kříž, Vlastimil (referee) ; Hynčica, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis focuses in the importance of technical text on the CAN protocol, the design of communication with robotic chassis. The first part contains general information about the CAN protocol and its settings, and a preview of what products I worked. The second part focuses on software robot. The next chapter describes the hardware of my work and the last chapter is devoted to experiments with the robot and the overall evaluation.
Media image of adoptions by homosexual couples in the Czech Republic
Fukar, Pavel ; Krobová, Tereza (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
The bachelor thesis aims to describe the way the Czech printed media reported on the topic of adoption by homosexual couples in the Czech Republic. Using qualitative analysis methods, it points out particular frames to which individual contributions are included. Conclusions of this method will also be supported by a brief quantitative analysis. The language and terminology used by journalists will be a key factor in the study. Similarly, it will be analyzed from whom the media workers receive testimonies for their articles.Special care will be dedicated to the titles of individual articles. The work will also focus on how journalists report on political leaders and their activities around the topic of adoption by homosexual couples. For this purpose, three newspapers were selected, namely Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo. This periodicals are the most widely read newspapers in the Czech Republic. In this context, the analysis is limited on news articles that were published within twelve consecutive calendar months, with the beginning of this period being set at 15 May 2013. The date was determined intentionally, members of the Chamber of Deputies discussed a draft law that would allow Adoption of same-sex couples precisely at this time.
Integration as a duty of immigrants as well as immigration countries and societies?: Ethical reflection of accepting strangers
Somerová, Iveta ; Mašek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
The job description is a brief outline of theoretical approaches to the phenomena of immigration and integration and formulating a research question. Phenomenological reflection of immigration as open movement of existence as a whole (inspired by the philosophy of Jan Patočka). A time structure of migration movement. Historical context of Ukraine immigrant integration into Czech (Czechoslovak) society. Interpretation of stories (interviews) of Ukrainian immigrants (existential framework, time/historical condition, transformation of cultural and religious consciousness, family relationships). Spiritual dimension of immigration and immigrant integration as open wandering (escape or seeking the Promised Land). Integration of immigrants in a network of perspectives. Conclusion: Integration as a precarious challenge for shattered human identity. (What can or cannot we be?) Keywords Migration, integration, motion, relation, framework, challenge, perspectives.
Framing of the EU during the European Parliament elections 2014
Charvátová, Anna ; Hájek, Roman (advisor) ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (referee)
Framing is one of the important concepts of media studies. That is because the journalists use framing as they create news. Framing makes it easier for their audiences to perceive the news and to understand it better. In media production framing occurs mostly because of the fact that journalists are affected by their opinions or by the organizations that they work for. Even the recipients doesn't have to perceive the news same way as the author - they are also affected by their opinions and his environments. The goal of this thesis was to find out how three Czech journals - Respekt, Reflex and Týden - framed European Union during the European Parliament elections 2014. In that period media informs about EU more than usual. Another goal was to find out how journalist constructed these frames. Qualitative analysis revealed six frames, which I named: Uncertain future of the EU, Lack of interest of Czechs for the EU, Absurd regulations of the EU, Necessary bureaucracy of the EU, Relevancy of the European parliament and European MPs and Inefficiency of European MPs. In analyzed journals prevailed negative frames over positive ones. As tools of framing authors used mostly headlines and captions. Selection of sources wasn't as important as choice of vocabulary and repetition of words in texts.

Image Formats
Wolanský, David ; Bartoš, Michal (referee) ; Jiřík, Radovan (advisor)
The thesis deals with a detailed analysis of the GIF file format. It is divided into two basic parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes a thorough analysis of the internal file structure, i.e. the description of the individual block types, of which the file consists. Each block-type characteristic includes properties and a detailed description of its individual items. This part also includes a brief description of the most common compression methods applied in the field of image compression. The practical part includes the design and implementation of an edutainment application for synoptic viewing of the internal structure for a chosen GIF file and its parameters. The implementation of the application covers algorithms for selection of individual block types and realization of a graphical user interface.
