Štůsek, Jaromír ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (referee) ; Kalvodová, Věra (referee)
Criminal acts committed by racial, national and other hateful motives Abstract in english The dissertation thesis is focused on the issue of crimes committed by racial, national and other hate motives, which are nowadays commonly referred to as hate crimes. The dissertation thesis comprehensively elaborates the essence of the issue of hate crimes and the ideas on which this crime is based on. The thesis points to a relatively rich but very inconsistent and constantly evolving terminology and defines related terms such as extremism, racism, anti-Semitism, anti-Islamism or racial prejudice. It should be recalled that the notion of hate crime is not entirely appropriate to this issue. A closer interpretation of the individual terms is important for the correct interpretation of the relevant facts that are affected by this issue. The analysis of related criminal offenses and related case-law demonstrates what conduct these crimes may impact. We have to realize that the issue is very closely related to the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech and expression, and they are very closely intertwined. To define the boundary between an offense and the right of an individual freely expressing their opinions in word, writing, print, image or otherwise, as well as freely seeking, receiving and disseminating...

Walderová, Katia ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Nekola, Martin (referee)
1 Abstract In my bachelors thesis, I deal with the relationship between women and gay men in the workplace, specifically in a beauty store. My research has stemmed from gender theories that is concerned with the ways in which gender and gender roles affect individuals' interpersonal relationships. These theories show that feminine women have positive attitudes towards feminine gay men, a minority group at risk of discrimination and prejudice. Thus, my goal was to determine the relationships and attitudes of feminine women towards feminine gay men in the workplace and elucidate whether the results of this study will confirm gender theories or show the ongoing vulnerability of homosexuals. My second goal was to compare the negative behavior towards this minority group with the legal norms of the Czech republic and see the extent of protection from such behavior. The research method involved a case study compiled by semi-structured interviews with six respondents, composed of five females and one gay male, who work in the beauty store. The interviews were then analyzed by coding. The results show that there is discriminatory behavior, prejudice, homophobia and other forms of bullying in the workplace towards gay men in the workplace. The reason for such behavior may be the fact that gay employees wear makeup,...

Men on parental leave from the perspective of social workers.
VIKTOROVÁ, Romana
The thesis focuses on the issue of men on the parental leave from the point of view of the social workers whose profession brings them to these men most often. The social workers are able to assess the extent of the fathers involvement in the everyday care of the minor children and by that adequately evaluate the appropriateness of man's use of the parental leave. Our society puts emphasis on the gender equality and the child care is now being a matter of both parents. Anyhow, due to the gender stereotypes still existing in the society, different attitude towards females and males has developed. Even though such division does not always match setting, interests or needs of the particular individual, people are often being misled by the gender identity. The social workers should take into account the individuals characteristics, abilities and opinion, before succumbing to the notion of the natural behaviour. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out how men on the parental leave are being perceived by the social workers focused on the family and children. Based on the research, the questions should be answered, if the attitudes of the social workers towards men on the parental leave are stereotyped, if the social workers are opened to the alternatives of the parental care or if they support the traditional distribution of roles in the society. To get the needed data, the qualitative research and the technique of the in-depth interview had been used. The research group consisted of 7 social workers focused on family and children from České Budějovice. The research showed that the respondents are mostly positive about men on the parental leave. Although they find it less usual, they do not see any problem in men taking care of the children. All the respondents agreed on the importance of the agreement between the parents and on the necessity of acceptance of different opinions.
