Influence of father and brother on mate choice of heterosexual women in personality traits

Mate preferences and choices might be influenced by several factors, including close relatives. According to the imprinting-like effect, people prefer and choose partners similar to those with whom they grew up during childhood. The main aim of our research was to test, whether individuals choose their long-term partners on the basis of similarity (in personality traits) with their parent and/or siblings of the opposite sex (father and/or brother). The final sample of the study consisted of 211 heterosexual women (mean age = 27.34, SD = 5.36) who grew up with their father until at least 12 years of age. Respondents completed a set of questionnaires aimed at personality of their partner, brother, and father (NEO-FFI), the relationship quality with their father/brother during childhood (s-EMBU/QRI), and relationship satisfaction (RAS). Correlation and regression analyses have shown that heterosexual women choose partners similar to their fathers and brothers, especially in neuroticism. However, when compared correlation coefficients, it was found that fathers play a more important role. Psychological aspects of headache

This thesis focuses on the psychological aspects of headaches from different perspectives which can affect patient's life. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. The first one is devoted to the characteristics of different types of headaches and serves as a theoretical-neurologic background for the following chapters focused on the psychological aspects as mentioned. Next chapters are a mainstay of the thesis that deal with the psychological aspects as possible symptoms of headaches; accompanying psychological phenomenas which patient may face while having a pain attack and also psychological consequences of this health problem. The last chapter is dedicated to the co-morbidity of psychiatric disorders with migraine. In the empirical part a research project exploring the correlation of personality traits and headaches is presented. Creativity in visual arts

Motivation seems to be one of the important variables which might have an effect on creativity. It can have a positive but also a negative impact on creativity. In this thesis motivations of fine artists are examined and the extent to which art might effect personality profile of fine artists is considered. In theoretical part, firstly, art, forms of art and the psychology of art are defined. Further artwork as a product of artistic process, structure of personality and specifically the personality of fine artists are described. A complexity of creativity as a phenomenon is presented. Finally motivation from the social psychology of creativity point of view is explained. The aim of this master thesis is to examine certain psychosocial personality traits of fine artists by the Achievement Motivation Inventory LMI and discovered whether there are significant differences in personality traits of fine artists and control group of "non-artists" interested in economy and business (n=63). Our results support the foreign studies results and indicate that artists score significantly higher in Flow, Pride in Productivity and Independence. Will-traits and self-education of students

The bachelor thesis deals with volition, will traits and self-education of students. Volition is understood as a synthetic function of personality, evolutionary highest function of self-regulation and a limited cognitive source. Will traits are considered an outer manifestation of will, self-education (especially its Czech equivalent) is considered an outdated term that is being replaced by similar topics of research such as procrastination. Several philosophical and psychological concepts of will and self-regulation are outlined. Author concieves much of them similar, suggesting emotional, impulsive system (thymos, id, hot system) is usually put opposite to a rational system (logos, ego, cool system). Succesful self-regulation is therefore based on an ability to master the emomotional, hot system. Another part of the paper deals specifically with self-education and variables that are affecting it (individual traits, motives, time and stress, role of a teacher and group). Several methods of self-education are described: self-discovery, formulation of educational goals, precommitment, implementation intention, creating of a habit, reaching flow. Analysis of current views of mutism in specialized Czech and foreign literature

This diploma thesis deals with mutism from the perspective of specialized czech and foreign literature. The character of the thesis is theoretical and the thesis is divided into three parts. In the first chapter, there is mutism described based on the study of czech specialized literature as well as etiology, symptoms, diagnostics and treatment. The second chapter describes the same categories but based on the study of foreign literature. The last part is dedicated to the analysis and comparison of acquired knowledge in particular areas. The most signifiant differences can be found in the area of diagnostics and therapy of mutisms, which are more elaborated in foreign literature than in Czech literature. Some differences appear in all other areas of mutism. The learning theory is the characteristic feature of foreign literature in the field of etiology of mutism, also the social enxiety is the characteric feature in the area of symptoms and treatment; overall we can see a dominant influence of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The Czech literature provides a number of different views not only on the definition of mutism, but also on the etiology and symptomatology. The diagnostics and the therapy of mutism is not further elaborated in the Czech literature.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to develop professiogram as the basis for further training of social workers in low- threshold centers for drug addicts. Bachelor thesis maps the workload of social workers in low threshold centers for drug addicts, in especially ordinary activities, their frequency, level of stress, challenging situations, their frequency. Interpersonal Check List as a Tool for Assessing Managerial Potential

The aim of this paper is to verify the applicability of Interpersonal Check List for assessing managerial potential, namely leadership potential. The findings of leadership research are summarized and applicability of Interpersonal Check List is theoretically discussed. Available methods for assessing leadership potential are presented, namely personality inventories and Assessment centre methods. Three data sources including 888 respondents in total are used for the analysis. Empirical tests show that employees in leadership positions score higher in several dimensions of Interpersonal Check List, particularly in managerial - autocratic, competitive - exploitive and blunt - aggresive dimensions. The discussion of these findings leads to the conclusion that the mentioned dimensions could be considered as indicators of leadership potential. 1 Abstract The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the definition of career from its traditional concept to the present and on the issue of career development. Attention is paid to the developmental aspects of career and the theories of career stages. An important part of the thesis is formed by the presentation of factors influencing the career development, including the personality traits and other individual factors, for example gender and age perspective, intercultural context of career development or the work-life balance. The practical part presents the research design focused on some aspects of the career of the individual (satisfaction with career, importance of further career development, expectations of future career changes) and their connection with basic demographic factors and the personality type by J. Personality traits of individuals addicted to psychoactive substances, alcohol and pathological gamblers

anglicky This thesis deals with one of the most important issues of our time. Trying to look for personality structure of individuals dependent on alcohol, psychoactive substances and pathological gamblers. Describes differences in personality structure between the user and the differences between men and women. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the present the accessible knowledge in the field of personality-dependent individuals. The empirical part of the work deals with a research carried out at the pavilions of addictions in a psychiatric hospital Prague Bohnice. In the empirical part of the research hypotheses and set goals that are subsequently evaluated. This thesis provides insight into the personality of addicted individuals and their own research conclusions are largely consistent with findings from the literature.
Interpersonal Check List as a Diagnostic Tool of Industrial and Organizational Psychology

The aim of this paper is to verify the applicability of Interpersonal Check List for assessing managerial potential, namely leadership potential. The evolution and findings of leadership research are summarized in the theoretical part of the article. Possible effects of personality traits on leader effectivity are theoretically explained. There is evidence that these traits affect the perception of leaders. Empirical tests show that employees in leadership positions score higher in several dimensions of Interpersonal Check List, particularly in managerial - autocratic, competitive - exploitive and blunt - aggresive dimensions. The discussion of these findings leads to the conclusion that the mentioned dimensions could be considered as indicators of leadership potential.
