Women in the French Resistance during World War II and their depiction in French cinema

The bachelor thesis deals with the depiction of women in the French resistance during World War II in French cinema, specifically in the movies Blanche et Marie (1985), Lucie Aubrac (1997) and Les femmes de l'ombre (2008). Each of the movies depicts different activities that the women may have engaged in during the resistance. The thesis focuses on how women are portrayed in movies, whether it coincides with the surviving stories of resistance fighters, and on this basis assesses the importance of movies in the memory of women's resistance during World War II. The thesis first presents basic information about the French resistance, its origin and how women got involved. The thesis deals specifically with women and presents the stories of some resistance fighters, whose example shows the diversity of women who participated in the resistance. The work then briefly introduces the individual movie and analyses how women are portrayed, whether their depiction is sufficient based on preserved stories, and then the thesis describes the specifics of women's activities from individual movies. The present master thesis "Václav Wagner - an eminent figure of Czech monument care in the 20th century" describes the life of conservationist and pedagogue Václav Wagner, who was born 7th November 1893 and died on 21th March 1962, after years of imprisomnemt. It sicusses not only his life as a complex, but his work at the State Monuments Office, outlines and interprets Wagner's so-called synthetic method of monuments conservation, and discusses professional and personal disputes with Zdeněk Wirth and Cyril Merhout. All the above findings are based on the study of archival sources and literature. The presented thesis deals with the topic of the war and concentration camps in the novels Das siebte Kreuz (in English The seventh Cross) by Anna Seghers and Der Funke Leben (in English Spark of Life) by Erich Maria Remarque with a special focus on the topic of solidarity. At first, the thesis examines the literary-historical context, specifically German literature in the time of fascism and the reflection of Nazi tyranny in German literature. The thesis further examines the lives of both authors and analyses their works in terms of circumstances of their origin, plot, the characteristics of the characters, the individual motives of the novels and the topic of solidarity. The solidarity in the novels is the main theme of this thesis and on the basis of that the two works are compared. Using specific excerpts from both novels, the thesis analyses the theme of solidarity in relation to the individual characters and the time-space of the plot. The last part of this thesis deals with the didactic potential of these publications. The bachelor thesis analyses and compares the motifs that appear in the novels Kort Amerikaans by the Dutch writer Jan Wolkers and The Cowards by the Czech writer Josef Škvorecký. The aim of this thesis is to give those motifs a social-historical background and to try to compare everyday life in the Netherlands and in Bohemia during the Second World War.
Analysis of European Policy as European Identitty in Time

The aim of this thesis was to answer the Question Could we find something in European policy, what should to be the European identity?, through systematic research. Author decided for the mode of research on the basis of the studied literature and last international studies of this theme - thus to find european identity in european policy, not to describe a history of collocation "European identity". According to characteristic of terms "policy" and "identity, author analyses, whatever and how European identity express in European policy, by historic analysis, by analysis of documents - treaties of the European Union and foregoing organisations -, and by analysis of the overview of statistic data - Eurobarometer research. Historic analysis expressed different concepts of european identity - christianity, contradiction with islam, colonialism, science (like an ideology), rule of the law (particularly citizen's law and international law), man - sophist -, than analysis of documents of the Union -representative democracy, liberty, peace, security, human rights, rule of the law, and values, from which these emerged. Dolní Vilémovice 1939-1945. A Czech Village under the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia The thesis deals with the destiny of Dolní Vilémovice, small village which lies in West Bohemia, during the Nazi occupation. It uses sources of local authorities and oral history to describe everyday life of Czech villagers throughout the Second World War. The village mentioned above was not chosen incidentally, as it is a birthplace of Jan Kubiš, one of czech soldiers who commited assassination attempt on Reinhard Heydrich. That is why this thesis also discusses the issue of German repressive measures against the local population, especially against Kubiš family, and anti-Nazi resistance.
The conception of reconstruction of Yugoslavia after WW II

Martin Šmejc Abstract: "Conception of reconstruction of Yugoslavia after WW II." The topic "Conception of reconstruction of Yugoslavia after WW II." covers three different phenomena. The most important factor, that determined the development of Yugoslavia during the WW II., was the coming to power of the communist Partisans led by Josip Broz Tito. Their vision of Yugoslavia's reconstruction after the war was defined during the second session of the AVNOJ in Bosnian town Jajce in November 1943. How should according to those visions reconstructed Yugoslavia look like is one of the research questions this thesis is going to answer. The second phenomenon touches upon the conceptions of Yugoslavia's reconstruction by the royal Yugoslav governments in exile. Their project was quite as important as of the Partisans. Their importance resides in the fact that until March 1945, when a united government of Royalists and Partisans based on Tito-Šubašić agreement was created, the government in exile were considered as the only legitimate representatives of Yugoslavia. The third analyzed phenomenon is the impact of the three Allied powers on the situation of Yugoslavia until 1948.
