Předkládaná diplomová práce pojednává o tématu války a koncentračních táborů v románech Das siebte Kreuz (č. Sedmý kříž) od Anny Seghers a Der Funke Leben (č. Jiskra života) od Ericha Marii Remarqua se speciálním zaměřením na téma solidarity. Práce se věnuje nejprve literárněhistorickému kontextu, konkrétně německé literatuře v době fašismu a reflexi nacistické tyranie v německy psané literatuře. Diplomová práce dále zpracovává životy obou autorů a analyzuje díla z hlediska okolností jejich vzniku, děje, charakteristiky postav, jednotlivých motivů románu a tématu solidarity. Solidarita v románech je hlavním tématem této práce a na jejím základě jsou obě díla srovnávána. Na konkrétních ukázkách z obou románů je toto téma v diplomové práci analyzováno, a to v souvislosti s jednotlivými postavami a časoprostorem děje. Poslední část diplomové práce se věnuje didaktickému potenciálu obou románů. Je zaměřena na využití konkrétních pasáží z textů, které se týkají různých problematik spojených s nadvládou nacionálních socialistů v Německu v letech 1933 až 1945, a to zejména ve výuce německého jazyka a dále pak i v dalších předmětech na základních a středních školách, zejména v dějepisu a v základech společenských věd. The presented thesis deals with the topic of the war and concentration camps in the novels Das siebte Kreuz (in English The seventh Cross) by Anna Seghers and Der Funke Leben (in English Spark of Life) by Erich Maria Remarque with a special focus on the topic of solidarity. At first, the thesis examines the literary-historical context, specifically German literature in the time of fascism and the reflection of Nazi tyranny in German literature. The thesis further examines the lives of both authors and analyses their works in terms of circumstances of their origin, plot, the characteristics of the characters, the individual motives of the novels and the topic of solidarity. The solidarity in the novels is the main theme of this thesis and on the basis of that the two works are compared. Using specific excerpts from both novels, the thesis analyses the theme of solidarity in relation to the individual characters and the time-space of the plot. The last part of this thesis deals with the didactic potential of these publications.
