An analysis of determinants of immigration to the CR.
Toušková, Daniela ; Fialová, Kamila (advisor) ; Vyležík, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to introduce the issues of migration from the economic point of view based on data focused on the Czech Republic. There is only the net immigration analyzed in this thesis due to the lack of relevant data available for the emigration ones. The net immigration is represented by the difference of number of foreigners working in the CR legally. There is a linear regression model used in this analysis and dependence of difference of number of foreigners working in CR on several economic variables is estimated by the ordinary least squares method. There are quarterly data collected in 2001-2009 used in the analysis. The results show that the largest impact on the growth of number of working foreigners has the growth of unemployment rate. This impact is negative, which corresponds to the economic theory presented in the theoretical part of this thesis. Other variables significant for the difference of number of foreigners are year-to-year difference of real wage and difference of real gross domestic income.
Integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic
Pátková, Eva ; Mojžíšová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Nováková, Daniela (referee)
The diploma thesis Integration of Foreigners in the Czech Republic deals with the social integration of immigrants into Czech society with respect to structural, cultural, interactive and identifying dimensions. These are the crucial factors influencing their stay in the Czech Rebublic. The empirical part concerns perception of Czech reality through the eyes of selected foreigners from different countries living in the Czech Republic. Their findings are collected by qualitative research. During the interview, they provided detailed information about their stay in the Czech Republic and thus revealed issues which they deal with in the host country. It came out that a significant aspect of integration is not only the similarity of cultures but also foreigners' subjective feeling of integration.
Expulsion of Aliens on National Security Grounds in the Context of International and European law
Válková, Zuzana ; Ondřej, Jan (referee) ; Honusková, Věra (referee)
This study deals with the expulsion of aliens in modern international and European law. I have focused on the particular ground for the expulsion, i. e. national security, in the context of the States' obligations under some selected international human rights instruments and the relevant European law. National security is one of the generally accepted grounds for the expulsion of aliens, but the content of this term is not strictly defined. As a consequence of this lack of clarity national security may be abused by States. I focused on such abuse in the process of expulsion when States use the exception of national security as a reason for not allowing aliens to benefit from the procedural guarantees provided by international law. There have been two kinds of abuse of the national security term with respect to the procedural rights of the expelled persons found in this study. First, States expel aliens forthwith without giving them the opportunity to submit reasons against their expulsion or have their case reviewed by a competent authority also in cases when the exception of national security is indefensible. Second, the national security interest restricts the effectiveness of the appeal proceedings in cases when the domestic legislative does not permit the expelled persons to be informed about...

Employment of foreigners in the Czech republic
Smrčinová, Zuzana ; Vysokajová, Margerita (advisor) ; Štangová, Věra (referee)
The Czech Republic has recently experienced an unprecedented influx of foreigners into its territory. The majority of those people come because of work opportunities. This phenomenon raises the questions of how to best regulate this influx and how to set the conditions under which these people work, so as to be a benefit and not a burden for society. The Czech Republic has set strict rules in order to prevent the foreigners from negatively affecting the domestic labour market. However, stricter the conditions are, the risk of law infringement is higher. For this reason, the main goal of the Czech legislation concerning the employment of foreigners should be the setting of effective rules in order to enable the state to benefit from the foreigner labour market, while simultaneously ensuring that there are adequate control mechanisms to prevent any infringements of the law. The aim of this thesis is to describe the Czech legislation concerning the employment of foreigners, to highlight the current problems and also the challenges for the future, to draw a comparison between the Czech and Australian legislation and to make further recommendations for the Czech Republic. This thesis is composed of four chapters. The first chapter is introductory and defines the basic terminology relevant to the topic such as...

The institutional system of regulating migration in the Czech Republic
Weiszová, Alica ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Mašková, Pavla (referee)
The success of each of the policies implemented and the achievement of their proclaimed goals is largely influenced by the institutional framework - formal, which is legal framework that is codified and informal, which consists mainly of culture and values of society. The Czech Republic after 1989 began to take over Western legal standards, although the attitudes and moral values of the majority of society did not comply. The actual form of the Czech legal norms was influenced by bringing this country into the European Union, but also by the development of the local labour market and the attitudes of the Czech public, which is reflected most in the government-approved material, the Interior Ministry "Draft Measures to managing economic migration" and that just through the legislative process. The Czech Republic, as well as countries of the European Union, meets the paradox of EU (defined by Genç). On one side Czech law marginalized employees from the third countries and on the other hand Czech Economy these workforces needs, and that is why are created programs to attract "Requested "workers. The Czech Republic is considered by economic migrants from third countries as "buffer" land, which is for them a gateway to enter into more advanced countries of the European Union. This trend is confirmed in...
