The diploma thesis "Hardened by Sirens" focuses on telling stories through sculptural realisation. These stories are taken from the new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war that started in 2022. I created the sculptures based on 3D scans as a reportage of events caused by the war. In my work, I followed up on an earlier sculptural project-study entitled "5 Minutes", which was created in 2019 in the context of my bachelor’s studies at FFA BUT. The sub-heading to the study read "3D war reportage ". In the textual part of the master’s thesis, I also focus on the concept of 3D reportage and the various possibilities it offers me as an artist working on the border of the genre of reportage and social documentary.

Security Threats for the Czech Republic in View of Public - November and December 2022

In November and December 2022, respondents had to assess security threats related to selected groups in the Czech Republic and they were also expressing views on threats by war, epidemics, natural disasters, economic crisis or resource crisis. These two questions were amended with an open question trying to find out, which countries represent a security threat for the Czech Republic. The survey also focused on expectations concerning the future of the personal life of citizens, the future of the Czech society and the future of the whole humankind.

Jews in the German and Austrian Armed Forces 1914 -1945

The main aim of this thesis is to introduce the development of the Jewish ethnic group within German language area, also to map and describe their involvement in both world wars in which their representatives had fought, first in the armies of central powers, and later in the army of the Third Reich. Besides chronology of war occurrences, there is a description of structural development of the German and Austrian armed forces with regard to the Jewish ethnic group of both countries and their performance of military service from the moment of introduction of general compulsory military service until the German capitulation in May 1945. This work gives a very detailed description of census of the Jews in German army that began on 1st November 1916 and also of its political consequences in post-war years. In the context of the Third Reich and the German Jews development, the complex of Nazi discriminatory legal standards and their link to the German military power are introduced and described here. This thesis also contains short personal stories of chosen Jewish war veterans of the first and Second World War that are complemented with a lot of personal information obtained mostly from military archives. Memory and Identity of Wenceslas Square

The subject of the thesis is a representation of Wenceslas Square as a space of symbolic importance for Czech society. Historical perspective is conducive to understanding of such unique status. Contemporary space is a subject of commodification in the tourism area. Official memory is represented via public historical exhibitions and rituals connected to the Velvet Revolution. This memory is being updated in context of the war in Ukraine as a fight for democratic values. Protests and manifestations, happening at the square, express the identity of Czech society with connection to the war from positions of establishment and dissent. Within the thesis the contradictions are being examined through common topics - fear and war, hate and solidarity, censorship and disinformation.

An Endless War: A Comparison of Three American Presidential Administrations during the Afghan War

The bachelor's thesis "Infinity War: A Comparison of Three US Presidents' Administrations on the War in Afghanistan" analyses and then compares the policies of the administrations of George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump towards the war in Afghanistan, between 2001 and 2021. The focus is on the aspects that have made it difficult, even impossible, for the United States to try to build a strong state capable of functioning independently. The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive picture of how each administration approached the conflict in Afghanistan, how they acted, and what stood in the way of a successful ccompletion of the mission. Through a detailed look at all three policies, the thesis attempts to answer the stated research questions, to find out what are the main aspects of each administration's failure in the war in Afghanistan and define some similarities. The first three chapters of the thesis describe the visions, strategies and their subsequent implementation in the conflict. Each administration approached the conflict in a different way, which often shifted and changed during its tenure as the conflict evolved. Leisure-time padagogues workshop: War as the theme of literature for Children and Youth

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of war in literature for children and youth and its use in leisure time pedagogy. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part analyzes the war in a broader context (characteristics, wars of the 20th century, war literature), a selection of contemporary war literature for children and youth, suitable teaching methods for working with literary texts and developmental specifics of school-age children. The practical part contains a set of methodical sheets from the chosen books, containing their verification in practice, including reflection.

History of Czech primary school in village Kájov

This bachelor thesis describes the history of the Czech elementary school in Kájov from its founding till 1950. The thesis focusses on the Czech school but at the same time is related to the German schooling. I have worked with on-line accessible school chronicle from The State Regional Archives in Třeboň, but also with non-published memories from family members of Růženka Hotová, the contemporary witness of Kájov. The thesis is focused on Kájov, from its history until the present day, establishment of the education system, Nazi influence, wartime, removals of German inhabitants after the World War II and arrival of communism until 1950. One of the reasons is that lots of materials from that times are accessible and also the importance of mentioned occurrences for Czech people.

The news media's framing of the war ultimately has an impact on how its audience views the actions of the conflicting countries, their respective allies as well as other issues pertaining to the conflict. The online news media, due to its relatively easy and broad access, plays a key role in how the war is covered and framed. This study compares how major news websites in Ukraine, Russia, the U.S. and China have framed their coverage of the Russia-Ukraine conflict between from December 2021 when Russia began to amass troops on its border with Ukraine, and the end of April 2022, when the war was still raging in Ukraine. The findings of this study indicate that the online news media's framing of the conflict within each country largely mirror their respective government's stated geostrategic interests regarding the war, particularly in terms of security, economics, energy supply and geopolitics. Nagorno-Karabakh: 2020 war and the new geopolitical reality.

Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which erupted in the end of 1980s, entered its most dangerous phase after the 1994 ceasefire agreement. The 2020 war totally changed the geopolitical situation of the South Caucasus region. After the victory and preservation of the status quo for 26 years, Armenia suffered huge losses and is left defeated and humiliated. Russian influence enhanced due to deployment of peacekeepers into Nagorno-Karabakh, while Turkey actively engaged in the war, openly supported Azerbaijan, and took a position of a more active player. Clash of conflicts between the reality and the narratives and rhetoric, which have been an inseparable part of this conflict, reached its culmination during the war. Even though the military actions were halted, and Russian-brokered trilateral ceasefire agreement was signed, long-term peace and reaching a final conflict solution seem quite farfetched.
