Military Airdrops from the Soviet Union in Žďársko and Novoměstsko. Contribution to the Partisan Resistance in Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in 1944-1945

This thesis analyzes the partisan movement during World War II in the regions of Žďársko and Novoměstsko in the years 1944-1945. It defines the concept of the "partisan" with regard to the matter in question. It further outlines the positions of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union on partisan resistance and comments on this type of resistance activity on the Eastern Front. Integral to this thesis is also a survey into the development of resistance organisations in the region of interest. The last two chapters classify the overall activity of partisan airdrops and divide the partisans in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during World War II into different categories. Repatriation of Czech White Mountain Battle exiles from Poland to Bezdružice after the Second World War

This graduation thesis talks about returning emigrants who left in the middle of the eighteen century because of then forbidden evangelical denomination into Prussia, and about their return back to the motherland. First chapters talk about the consequences of the White Mountain Battle in 1620 for non-Catholics, their move into foreign land and general religious situations in Czech countries during the eighteen century. Other chapters of this thesis describe the life of non-Catholics in foreign land and the rise of major Czech colonies in today's Poland. The major portion of this work describes, based on memories of the eye witnesses, the return of emigrants from the Polish Tábor into then Czech and Slovak Republic after WWII and their new beginnings in the home land, specifically in villages Zhořec, Kamýk, Pačín and Loučky in the Bezdružice region. This thesis talks about original german inhabitants too and their transfer to Germany. Here it is described, assignment of farmsteads and land to returning emigrants, elections in the village of Zhořec, in which some of the candidates were new emigrants, the coming into existence of local division of the Board of Czech Exiles in Zhořec. Pplk. Josef Šimůnek: biography of the member of Czechoslovak foreign troops

The main aims are fates of the member of Czechoslovak foreign troops during the Second world war, lieutenant colonel Josef Šimůnek. He and many other thousands left his country and fought with Czechoslovak army in Poland, in the French Campaign in 1940. In the Great Britain he passed in parachute training and finally was deployed with Czechoslovak armored brigade at French port Dunkerque. The military fate is followed by his civil life and his fates after the year of 1948 and repression which he suffered by. The main sources are represented by fond from Military archive in Prague or Archive of Security Forces in Brno, furthermore memories of veterans, family member and other auxiliary sources

This Bachelor thesis deals with anti-Jewish measurements in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and in the Slovak Republic during the Second World War. It analyses the relationship between the German Empire and two successors on the area of the Czech-Slovak Republic. The thesis aims to discover relationship between internal structure of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Slovak Republic and anti-Jewish measurements, which were implemented by national political representations or they were ruled by the Nazi Germany. In the case of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Slovak Republic the implementation of these measurements was combination of the initiative from national political representations and the influence of the German Empire.

Miroslav Eisenhammer Forced use of secondary school students during the occupation Supervisor: PhDr. Jan Gebhart, CSc., DSc. Abstract This dissertation deals with yet completely unprocessed issue of forced labor deployment of secondary and vocational school pupils in the Czech lands during the occupation by Nazi Germany. After the initial characteristics of the development of the German and the Protectorate economy and the Nazi attitude to use workforce of its own population and of occupied countries, the other chapter is devoted to the situation in the Czech education in 1939-1945. The Nazis considered the Czech intelligence as the enemy, so after the closure of Czech universities they deliberately restricted Czech secondary education. These restrictions did not have only national political, but also economic significance. From 1939 workers from the Czech lands were sent to work in the Reich. This trend increased significantly from 1942, when Germany intensified the expansion of war production and at the same time they started extensive program of forced labor of foreign workers in German industry. One of the labor sources were secondary school pupils, who the new legislation from February 1943 allowed to acknowledge de facto incomplete education based on the confirmed certificate in forced labor...

History interpretation in Fred Wander's literary works

II Title History interpretation in Fred Wander's literary works Abstract The topic of this diploma thesis is an interpretation of events during the Second World War in Fred Wander's literary work, an important representative of German written literature in the past century. The first chapter presents Fred Wander's life and work and is based on Wander's own autobiography and interviews. The following chapters are dedicated to individual analysis of his three writings: Der siebente Brunnen, Ein Zimmer in Paris and Hotel Baalbek. Wander especially focuses on mediating concrete personal life stories during that epoch. Hotel Haalbek work captures a situation during the first years of the war in the southern France. Der siebente Brunnen describes prisoners' lives in a concentration camp. Wander dedicates Ein Zimmer in Paris work to the topic of how to cope with war experience. The main target of this diploma thesis is about an interpretation of selected themes which are crucial for the mentioned works. "Resistance Movement in the Region of Plzeň- North during the Second World War "

This diploma thesis briefly describes the situation in the region of Plzeň throughout the period between the signature of the Munich Agreement and the end of the Second World War in the background of the international events and with special emphasis on everyday life. It also monitors the course of events in the field of domestic resistance and its cooperation with the foreign representatives; it provides a list of resistance movement organizations operating in the region of Plzeň. The majority of the thesis deals with the resistance movement in the district of Nýřany, which has been a part of the Plzeň - North district since 1960. This part of the thesis describes not only the organized resistance movement (the communist and the democratic one) but also the spontaneous actions performed by the individuals. The thesis depicts the story of several people who participated in the resistance movement against the Nazis and whose lives were deeply affected by the Nazi persecution. The aim of the thesis is to point out the domestic resistance situation in the background of the above-mentioned stories in the industrial area of Nýřany.

The bachelor thesis "Potsdam conference and its media image in Czech period newspapers" focuses on the way how chosen newspapers, specifically Rudé právo (the official newspaper of Communist Party), Mladá fronta (newspaper of Czechoslovak Union of Youth), Lidová demokracie (official newspaper of Czechoslovak people's party), Svobodné noviny (newspaper of Association of cultural organizations) and Právo lidu (the official newspaper of Czechoslovak social democratic party) informed about the topic of Potsdam conference during the period from june till september 1945. The conference significantly affected post- war reconstruction of the world. The paper focuses mainly on the way how newspapers dealed with the limited information about the meeting and the discussed topics. The paper is also interested in circumstances of the Potsdam conference and its impact on Czechoslovakia.
