Metasearch for Reviews on the Czech Web

The main purpose of this work is to create a metasearch engine for review articles with built-in sentiment analysis. In addition, a complex survey of main text extraction tools and web browser automation tools for web crawling has been carried out to achieve of the best possible results. The resulting metasearch engine provides a web interface for searching relevant review articles, thus saving time spent on manual searching. Thanks to multi-level transformer-based filtering, it can return 10—15 relevant review articles on frequently reviewed topics in about 4 minutes with no effort, just by clicking on a button.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy in smoking cessation: a review of the literature

Background: Smoking cessation is associated with significant health benefits. A review on the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in smoking cessation would help identify proven effective interventions and enable more informed treatment decisions. Objective: The aim of this theoretical review is to map the effectiveness of CBT and its components in smoking cessation using a non-systematic search. Methods: 272 reviews published in English in the last 10 years were found in the PubMed database using keywords. These were sorted out and supplemented with other articles for a total of 108 processed articles. Results: The effectiveness of CBT in smoking cessation as a stand-alone treatment or treatment enhancing the pharmacotherapy has been demonstrated in large clinical trials, both in individual (RR vs. minimal intervention 1.57 (1.40 - 1.77)) and in group counseling (RR vs. self-help program 1.88 (1.52 - 2.33)). The effectiveness increased with the intensity of the therapy. Of the individual components, commitment, feedback to behavior, social reward, identity associated with changed behavior and financial reward were significantly effective. Critical Responses of Selected Works By Petr Stančík in the Czech Media

This Master's thesis focuses on the analysis of the critical responses in Czech media to selected works of Petr Stančík. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the terms literary criticism, postmodernity and postmodernism. The literary criticism chapter features a subsection about the current situation of literary reviews in the Czech Republic with a focus on reviews of children's books. The theoretical part also includes a characterization of the cultural and literary print and online media. The media included in the analysis are cultural and literary print and online periodicals A2, Host, iLiteratura.cz, Tvar and Týdeník Rozhlas, and newspapers and web Aktuálně.cz, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES, Právo, Reflex and Respekt. The thesis also includes a profile of the author himself and his literary and theatre works. The practical part of the Master's thesis maps the critical responses to three books by Petr Stančík - Mrkev ho vcucla pod zem (2013), Mlýn na mumie (2013) and Andělí vejce (2016), in the chosen Czech media. Title: Anticipation sources and interaction during the softball hitting. Objectives: The objectives of this diploma thesis are to explore what kinds of anticipatory resources elite softball players perceive and which ones they take into consideration when hitting against a pitcher. Methods: The data used in this diploma thesis were obtain by qualitative type of research specifically a case study. The sources of information for this case study are personal interviews between me and group of eight elite Czech softball players. The interviews had eight open questions and take from 25 to 40 minutes. The interviews were analysed with aim to gain some new knowledge that could be apply to similar cases. All of eight requested players are members of the Czech national team or Czech national team under 23. They are active players in age 25,5  3,5 years. This information is valid as of 2021. Results: In this diploma thesis were selected and described anticipation information sources, that provide a valuable information leading to anticipation of further pitch. Aspect-Oriented Sentiment Analysis from User Reviews of Computer Games

This bachelor's thesis delves into aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) and the creation of a system tailored for examining video game user reviews. By building on established solutions, the system emphasizes the use of generative language models for extracting Aspect-Category-Opinion-Sentiment (ACOS) quadruples. The devised system streamlines the collection and evaluation of reviews, providing an intuitive user interface that enables effortless searching, filtering, and visualization of analytical outcomes via a web application. Furthermore, two datasets predominantly consisting of Czech video game reviews have been assembled.
Critical and reader response to the diversity in young adult literature

This bachelor's thesis deals with the critical and reader response to sexual and racial diversity in young adult (YA) literature. First of all, It tries to define the terms YA literature, diversity and review. It describes the specifics of this literary category and its readers, together with a description of the dystopia and fantasy genres. It also focuses on the diverse representation of race and sexuality in adolescent literature. Subsequently, it analyzes the diversity of the books Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Six Crows by Leigh Bardugh, including their Czech and foreign media coverage. The publications are first described in terms of plot, then the characters and their environment are examined from the point of diversity, and finally reader and critical comments on the topic of representation of selected diversities are taken into account. In this thesis the Czech media scene is represented by the readers website databazeknih.cz, the literary magazines Pevnost and XB-1, as well as the website iDNES.cz. The reader website Goodreads and the literary sections of The New York Times, Publishers Weekly and KIRKUS magazines represent the foreign reviews. Title: Anthropometrical, physiological, strength and other determinants of rowing performance - review of correlation-predictive analyses Objectives: To conduct a systematic literature review to search for a best single performance variable(s) (a measure of performance) that is(are) associated with rowing performance. Methods: This thesis utilizes usual review methods in a form of database search, synthesis, and data extraction. Results: After the initial screening of 534 articles the total of 24 articles was included in this thesis for review. We identified 11 performance variables with high coefficient of correlation; Body Mass (kg), Lean Mass (kg), VO2Max (L/min), Power at VO2Max (W), Power at 4mml (W), Body Height (cm), Wingate mean (W), Wingate maximal (W), Wingate minimal (W), Leg Press 1RM (kg), and 2000m rowing ergometer score. Photoreceptor detection methods in high-resolution retinal images

This thesis deals with the detection of photoreceptors in images captured by a camera using adaptive optics. The theoretical part of the work describes the anatomy and physiology of the eye, the retina and the diseases affecting it. Subsequently, current approaches in the field of photoreceptor detection are described. Selected methods are implemented in the practical part of the work. Modifying them, a photoreceptor detector is created. The results of individual methods are evaluated and compared.
Poetical work of Josef Hanzlík in the 1960s and its period critical response

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the analysis and comparison of critical response to the poetical work of Josef Hanzlík from the time period 1961-1967. These responses were published mostly in culturally or directly literary focused period press. The period and literary context also precedes the analysis. In the first chapter, the author briefly introduces the poet's life, then the literary and historical context of his work (the characteristics of the time period and its literary environment) and lastly the themes and the most frequently used motifs of Hanzlík's poetry. The second chapter deals with the term of "literary criticism", summarizes the evolution of literary criticism in the Czech environment of the 1960s, and the third one presents selected period press used in the thesis. The last chapter which forms a major part of this thesis, is dedicated to the analysis of critical responses. The author first shortly introduces the sources. She continues with the analysis of poetry collections with an emphasis on the opinions of individual literary critics. She then compares their critical attitudes and also observes the changes in their approach to the progression of the poet's work over the years.
