A New Generation of an IPFIX Collector
Huták, Lukáš ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis addresses processing of flow monitoring records from a point of view of an IPFIX collector. It analysis the current solution of the modular collector, which went through considerable historical development, and focuses on revealing its strengths and weaknesses. Based on acquired knowledge, a new collector is designed. The new solution, which significantly modifies individual components for processing of flow records, focuses on high throughput and adds missing functionalities. The document also compares performance of both generations and the new collector clearly dominates.
Conventional and small modular reactors
Vintr, Lukáš ; Lisá, Hana (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with nuclear energy. It contains a brief history of the development of this industry and provides insight into the process and control of the fission chain reaction used in nuclear reactors. It also describes conventional reactor types and the current state of their use in the world. It then mentions the research objectives set by the Generation IV International forum. Finally, it defines small modular reactors, describes a number of conceptual designs, and presents an analysis of the current state of their development, together with the possibilities of their use for the production of electricity or process heat.
Návrh solitéru v letištních prostorech
Sázavská, Gabriela
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a solitary furniture element for airport spaces. It is a modular upholstered bench intended for public interiors. The work is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part focuses on the issue of seating furniture elements in public interiors, requirements, ergonomics, safety standards and laws. Part of the theoretical part is a discussion of suitable materials for the seating element. The second practical part focuses on solving the own design of the bench, its structural solution, checking the fire resistance of the upholstery structure, modularity variants, visualization, load calculation and the subsequent prototype by 3D printing on a scale of 1:10. The contribution of this work is an atypical combination of materials, which is characterized by the use of the new expanding silf-extinguishing material UNTEX VSS-FR 200 in upholstery.

Structuralism for the 21st Century
Vojtíšek, Martin ; Štojdl, Václav (referee) ; Rozwalka, Szymon (advisor)
Nomos is partly a theoretical project that explores differences between Dutch Structuralism and Japanese Metabolism and tries to find a contemporary architectural system, that is intended as a contemporary interpretation of these movements. The project emphasizes an underutilization of the changeability of our environment and tries to incorporate it into the design of the system so that the user can customize it. It explores ways to combine the benefits of organic growth and modular design through the simulation of a reaction-diffusion. The application of the system shows a possible solution in a specific context with the design of a fragment.
Gap options (třída Kapitána Jaroše, Brno, CZ)
Koudelka, Tomáš ; Křivánek, Martin (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The subject of my work was to investigate the possibilities of filling the gap on Kapitána Jaroše Avenue, which has been undeveloped for a long time, mainly because of the number of networks that lead through it to the courtyard. At the same time, the gap is in the state of a temporary parking lot for the Municipal Theatre, and despite the fact that it is not at all pedestrian-friendly, a considerable number of people pass through it, either to the theatre or between Lidická Street and Kapitána Jaroše Avenue. With my proposal I am trying to place the building in the gap in such a way that there is as little need as possible to relocate the networks. At the same time, I am trying to preserve the maximum permeability of the gap for pedestrians and to create a space suitable for passing and spending time. By locating the rehearsal spaces, I am responding to the concentration of art and music in the area and the lack of rehearsal space in the surrounding institutions (Brno Conservatory and Jaroslav Kvapil Primary School of Art)
Úložný nábytek z recyklovaného papíru
Dobrovolný, Lubomír
The work deals with storage furniture from recycled paper, due to sustainable design, the current excessive paper waste and low-cost living. In order for the product to remain on the market, it tries to combine the principles of solitaires with modular systems. Cardboard is intended as the final material. The work addresses the design, ergonomics and aesthetic appearance in the context of purchasing potential.
Semiotic Specifics of Media Contents
Podzimek, Jan ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Dvořáčková, Věra (referee) ; Ducháček, Milan (referee)
This dissertation explores specifics of media semiotics as a method of media content analysis. The main research sample consists of mediasemiotic studies, in the second place of studies within other applied semiotics and methodological publications on the subject. The research method is a discourse analysis, done on all levels from micro- to macrostructures, specifically on levels of language, intertextuality, narrativity, discussions, discourse models and discourses. The analysis also took into account interdiscoursive relations between media semiotics and media studies, theoretic semiotics, and other related disciplines, as well as the question whether bringing concepts from these fields into media semiotics involves some transformations of these concepts, and how are these transformations related to the nature of the given discourses. The main contribution of this dissertation is introduction of the principle of modularity. It is a specific way of employing analytical functions into an analytical engine, which was present in all researched media semiotic studies, but also in the studies which belong to other applied semiotics (movie semiotics, anthropological semiotics, semiotics of law), and to discourse analysis as well. The modularity is an autonomous principle which must be, in case of the...
Web platform to support penetration testing
Lazarov, Willi ; Kuchař, Karel (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design, development, and implementation of a web platform to support penetration testing. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the description of penetration testing and vulnerability severity assessment. Next, the technologies used in the development of the final solution are described. The practical part describes the gradual solution of partial requirements of the web platform. The individual chapters summarize the problem, design, and implementation of the solution. The practical part starts with the design of a highly scalable model that addresses the main problem of the assignment of this thesis. Next, the design of the platform, its embedding in the proposed model, and the development of a modular web application. Furthermore, the actual development of the application part is described, specifically, its connection with the relational database, tools for automated penetration testing, and the report generator. In the next chapter, the testing of the platform in a production environment is described. The last chapter compares relevant tools for penetration testing. The result of the work is a web platform with the main purpose of increasing the effect of penetration testing to such an extent that the time, complexity, and work required to successfully complete the entire test will be considerably lower than using currently relevant available tools.
Democratic Architecture – Ostrava
Staněk, Lukáš ; Šmédek, František (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a residential building in an almost neglected location in Moravská Ostrava. The proposal looks for a way how to portray housing as such as community housing applicable in Czech conditions. The result is an adaptable environment that users can choose according to their wishes, as democracy says - about choices, about voting. Its variable and flexible form offers very easily and quickly changes to the program, whatever the advanced age of users, or with the needs for more space for new additions to households. Even the smallest apartments take on a sense of generosity, with pull-out furniture and wall - screens. The interior of the flats is renewed and creats a "room in a room". However, the case study also deals with the housing crisis and the shortage of housing, so the variety of functions are limited mainly to housing. However, the capacity for variation are retained and can be adapted over time to community housing, mixed - used or office space in an attractive location. It addresses the housing crisis comprehensively, and with a choice of apartment sizes ranging from studio apartments to 3 bedroom apartments. This system can be applicable to a variety of areas as well as plots with numerous dimensions. One of the many goals is to connect the public space with the indoor and outdoor space of the building. But it is it is important to maintain the intimacy of not only the semi-public space - the common areas of the building, but also the intimacy of the apartments. The design becomes a meeting point between the city and nature, specifically the roof garden and root purifier located in an unenclosed atrium in the wider centre of Ostrava. At the same time, it is capable of lowering the temperature in a densely populated and sparsely vegetated area.
