Pharmaceuticals in drinking water and their removal
Benešová, Tereza ; Načeradská, Jana (advisor) ; Vašatová, Petra (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the presence of pharmaceuticals in drinking water and their effective removal. The first part of the thesis describes in detail the pathway by which pharmaceuticals enter surface waters that can serve as a source for drinking water. In the Czech Republic, these are sources of drinking water for Prague and its surroundings. Because filtration, flocculation/coagulation is not efficient enough, it removes only 20% of the drugs such as ibalgin, carbamazepine, naproxen and diclofenac. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement drinking water treatment plants with other processes such as adsorption on activated carbon, which removes up to 98%, ozonation and advanced oxidation processes, with an efficiency of up to 99%, and UV/chlorine removes up to 80% of pharmaceuticals. I found that monitoring of pharmaceuticals in drinking water is not systematic and there is a lack of setting of possible limits. The Želivka water treatment plant was found to carry out tests for pharmaceuticals only once a year, which I consider insufficient. I think that it is advisable to carry out more frequent analyses of medicines in drinking water in order to have a continuous overview of the situation. In addition, there are no long-term studies examining the effect of medicines in drinking water...
Measurement of working environment parameters in machine manufacturing
Novák, Lukáš ; Křivánek, David (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with description, measure and practical evaluation of working environment parametres. There were four parametres evaluated – temperature, relative humidity, concentration of CO2, concentration of airdust and lighting. The measurement took place at three different workplaces.
Media Law and Media Capture in Slovakia and the Czech Republic after the year 2000
Hanák, Peter ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Kroupa, Jiří (referee) ; Višnovský, Ján (referee)
This dissertation connects theories and notions of media and democracy, oligarchization of media, media capture, and media systems with the economic theory of competition law. Slovak and Czech media laws are analyzed in a comparative legal analysis. Pluralism as the core value in all of the above-mentioned theories is researched. Novel historical periodization of the 1989 - 2020 era is proposed, as these 30 years are framed as a permanent transition of the media system of three distinct types. The Herfindahl-Hirschman index proves that the Slovak and Czech media markets are concentrated or oligopolistic, and this trend was strengthened in the last decade of the examined era. The new tool, the Power of Media Owners (POMO) indicator, is invented to show the strength of media oligarchs across platforms. This proves inefficacy of the cross-media ownership regulations, and it is used to measure the level of media capture. Fourth model of media systems, the non-pluralist authoritarian Eastern Oligarchic Captured model is described and the situation in Slovakia and Czech Republic is compared to it, concluding that both examined countries are in fact closer to more established Polarized Pluralist Mediterranean model, which is framed as a half-way to the Eastern model. Conclusions reveal which changes in...
Development of Concentration in Pre-School Children by Means of Pedagogical Use of Mandalas
NÁMĚSTKOVÁ, Darina
This thesis deals mandalas and their influence on concentration in preschool-age children. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part presents mandalas, their history, colours and meanings. It also deals with the development of children's concentration and curricular documents devoted to children´s concentration. The practical part contains didactic activities done by children in a kindergarten, where we observed children´s concentratio
Automatic Processing of DCE-MRI Data
Karela, Jiří ; Mézl, Martin (referee) ; Jiřík, Radovan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the issue of automatic processing of DCE-MRI data. It describes some important procedures and methods. The work is divided into theoretical part, practical part and conclusion. The theoretical part mainly describes some methods, on the basis of which the practical part was then solved. However, another theory related to the topic is also described here. The practical part then builds on the theory and solves the problem of automatic detection of arterial voxels and the concentration of contrast agent in the arteries. The algorithms are tested on rat brain data obtained from DCE-MRI. The conclusion serves as a summary and evaluation of our results. It also serves as a reflection on the implementation of our methods.

New concentrations of job opportunities in the hinterland of Prague
Koloušek, Petr ; Novák, Jakub (advisor) ; Ouředníček, Martin (referee)
New concentrations of job opportunities in the hinterland of Prague Abstract In the past 40-50 years in North America and is currently also in some European regions we can see within the frame of suburbanisation process creation of new centers in the hinterland of the main cities. The development of these nuclei greatly influences the spatial structure of metropolitan areas. The aim of this work is to try to identify new concentrations of job opportunities in Prague hinterland which could be described as indedependent or cutting adrift and in this respect prove certain similarity to the metropolitan regions westward of the Czech Republic. Observation will be mainly applied to the development of the number and structure of job opportunities in the selected villages. These indicators will be helpful to identify the new concentration of jobs in the Prague metropolitan area. Subsequent analysis of commuting to work in selected villages partly answers the question of how the commuting links between elements of the Prague metropolitan area have changed and whether there is a noticeable trend towards the creation of new centers, which would include also non-residential functions, such as significant offer of an employment and services. In the case study of one selected municipality will be subsequently followed up...
Selected Problems in Evidence
Bečvářová, Darina ; Pohl, Tomáš (advisor) ; Macková, Alena (referee)
Various problems which relate to the obligation of assertion and obligation of evidence and corresponding burden of assertion and burden of evidence and activity of a court connected with them are the topic of my diploma thesis. The first part concentrates on the definitions of basic terms, which appear in the field of evidence, for example the evidence as a complex process, the subject of evidence, means of evidence and also key terms as burden of assertion and burden of evidence. The next part of the thesis is focused on the description of the institute, which was introduced to the legal system in 2009 and the aim of which is to make civil procedure faster and more effective. This institute is the concentration of the procedure, principle of which is to bring about the state of termination of facts and evidence, which means that parties of the civil procedure are allowed to present facts important for the decision of the court and evidence connected with them only until a certain moment, if they present them later, they will not be relevant for the court. In the present, the parties are obligated to fulfill these obligations until the end of the preliminary procedure happens, respectively until the end of the first procedure in front of the court happens or when the parties are given an additional...
Trends of ambient ozone in the Northern hemisphere
Bučková, Nicole ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor) ; Hovorka, Jan (referee)
The development of ground-level ozone concentrations is currently hotly debated topic. Ozone itself is highly toxic and has strong oxidizing effects. Ozone has negative impact on human health, but also on vegetation. In addition ozone is one of the most important greenhouse gases causing the greenhouse effect. The Council of Europe decided to limit its increasing tendency by the release of Directive 2002/3/EC. Limits that are set in this Directive are binding for all Member States without exception and breach of these limits is enforceable by law. However as a result of increased anthropogenic activities, particularly increased consumption of fossil fuels and the development of industrialization, those limits are very often breached. Especially in summer when is solar radiation is most intense. This suggests that the highest ozone concentrations are in southern Europe. North Europe has problems with intercontinental transport of ozone. Concentration of ozone is dependent on many factors - the weather conditions, the geography but also the impact from human activity. This paper describes the development of ground-level ozone concentrations in various regions in Europe and North America. In writing this work, I come out mainly from foreign studies that address this topic. Keywords: ozone,...
