Wage inequality among young college graduates: Can we find any evidence for reverse gender wage differential?
Vrbovský, Samuel ; Mysíková, Martina (advisor) ; Šlegerová, Lenka (referee)
This thesis examines whether in the United States among young college gradu- ates in male-dominated dominated job fields the the gender wage differential is reversed, i.e, women earn more than similar men. The thesis further adds two additional hypotheses that narrow the examination down to large employers and singles. To evaluate those hypotheses the thesis estimates linear regression models for each of the male-dominated job field and each hypothesis using data from 2017 National Survey of College Graduates (NSCG). Although the results revealed that in IT and mathematics and in physical sciences women earned more than similar men, with the effects being more pro- found among those working for large employers and among singles, the results were not statistically significant. Those results are, however, still important in context of societal narrative and gender wage gap literature, since they do not hint any potential discrimination of women in male-dominated fields. Vlček, Marek ; Mašek, Radomír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma project is resolving the possibilities of designing contemporary buildings into the historical context of city centre. The emphasis is aimed on urban integration of new volumes into the present city structure and its genius loci. The result of the design should be buildings with specific character and clear dispositions using quality materials. The area is located near the city centre of Hradec Králové and is defined by the streets Comenius, I.Herrmann and Hradecká. It is directly adjacent to the historic city center. In the middle of the area is flowing The Orlice River, which divides area into two separately designed zones, communicates with each other. The presence of the river is considered to be a distinctive urban-forming element that needs to be used and promoted in the city. One of the characteristics of the site is the poor state of public spaces, several significant barriers, whether moving, operational or visible and urban unconnected areas or unreasonable used areas and buildings. The surrounding of The Orlice River, flowing through the center of Hradec Králové, is from near future very important, but at the same time hard to handle. All three facts - the city center plot, the presence of the river, but also the neglected public spaces - leading this area rehabilitated, revitalized and made accessible to people.

Vaněček, Michal ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Blažková, Veronika (referee) ; Prokop, Jiří (referee)
of English I chose the topic "Czech school in the Protectorate" for my Doctoral thesis. The history of the Second world war bellongs to my long interest. My goal was to create a popular - educational publication for student teachers. I never met with this part of history of our school in the Faculty of Education and in the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University. I hope it's very important to remind this part of history - dificult situation of teachers and students during the Nazi era to current students. This sadly topic could raise future teachers to love the profession and could raise the prestige of teachers in our country. My wish would be after reading this work to increase patriotism, love and respect fot the history of our school. I described individual school protectorate years with the introductional into the Protectorate Education. At the beginning of each school year I described the basic historical milestones. I wanted to capture the humiliation of our education system during the Protectorate compared to the high level of pre - war years, dishonor Czech teachers, pupils, students and progressive germanizacion. I took advantage memories of witnesses for readability and catchiness readers. I tried to create text with elements of experiential learning. I believe that experiential...
