Function of Vestibular System in Patients after Cochlear Implantation

Theoretical part of the thesis summarizes state of art in the field of interaction of sound stimuli with the vestibular system and balance control. Further it summarizes the effect of cochlear implantation on the peripheral vestibular structures and on the stance stability. Cochlear implantation is effective way of hearing rehabilitation. Nevertheless surgery in the region of the inner ear results in reduction of function of the peripheral vestibular structures on the implanted side. The functional deficit of the peripheral vestibular system induced by the surgery is well tolerated by patients and quickly spontaneously subside. Sound available to the patients after implantation is one of the important modalities needed for balance control. In patients with balance deficit was found higher reliance on hearing when maintaining stable stance. Some sounds can reduce postural sway. Namely listening to the broadband noise (such as white and pink) results in reduction of postural sway. The balance control also relies on the ability to localize sound source. Information about position of sound source can be utilized as point of reference for driving balance reactions. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem konceptu nabídky komplexních služeb pro malý rodinný podnik působící v oblasti designu a vybavení interiérů. Teoretická část obsahuje literární rešerši zabývající se problematikou strategického plánování a jeho propojení na produktovou business strategii včetně specifik řízení rodinných malých podniků a orientace služeb na B2B trh. V analytické části práce jsou aplikovány vybrané analyticko-výzkumné metody za účelem identifikace klíčových faktorů v rámci kontextu prostředí s následným vyhodnocení stavu a identifikace vnějších faktorů pomocí COP rámce. Návrhová část obsahuje konečný návrh konceptu nabídky poskytování komplexních služeb vedoucí ke zvýšení tržeb společnosti.

Absorption cycle in the heating industry

Goal of this thesis is to introduce technology of absorption heat pumps in various modifications. Technical design draft is created for chosen modification (single stage unit water-LiBr) and based on given parameters calculated in computing software EES (engineering equation solver) and process is explained step-by-step. Following part of thesis contains reference design draft of heat plant and this design is used to demonstrate several different options of applying absorption heat pump including version capable of providing also cooling. Those options are compared with each other from technological and economical stand point.

Heating the house by heat pump

The point of this bachelor thesis is a family house heating with a use of a heat pump. In the first part of the thesis the principle and working of a heat pump are explained. Also the basic sources of energy for the heat pump including their pros and negatives are talked over. Secondly in the practical part thermal losses and energy consumption of the chosen house are calculated. Based on those calculations the heat pump and the heating system are chosen. In the end the investment is evaluated.

Utilization of absorption systems in the heating systems

Main goal of this work is familiarization with basic features of absorption heat pumps and it’s growing importance on the market. In the first part of the work there is a research for clarifying facts associated with such pumps. In the introduction there are descriptions of basic information from the field of heating industry and its connections to our systems. Next there is a brief analysis of price changes in electricity and heat in the last five years. Main part of the analytical section is a description of the used absorption system. Second part of the work is focused on the calculation of the absorption system itself. First there is calculated internal and external part of the device according to the parameters from GE Power s.r.o. After this step there are parametric studies based on changes of key parameters of the default device for a demonstration of the behavior of a heating pump. In the end of the work there is a integration of the unit into the heating cycle for variations including flue gas condenser and using a cooling water from the turbine condenser.

Legal protection of the climate system of Earth in the "post-Kyoto" period

This diploma thesis focuses on the phenomenon of global climate change from the perspective of climate change law. The thesis defines the phenomenon in legal terms and deals with problems it brings to the environment and the world population. Its major part is dedicated to the international law of climate change, including all past Conferences of the Parties (COP) and their outcomes together with the most important treaties - United Nations Framework Convention in terms of Kyoto Protocol and the unsuccessful Doha Amendment. The Paris Agreement, which is the most recent international treaty, already ratified by 160 countries, could be a game changer in terms of effectivity in both climate change mitigation and adaptation legislation as well as much needed international solution. This thesis also focuses on the EU law of climate change, especially on the progress and future of Emissions Trading System and other legislation. Not only is the EU now more focused on the adaptation legislation, this is an important topic also for the Czech Republic. Especially when many Czech laws stem from EU regulations, there is still a great potential in the adaptation legislation and major progress is expected in the near future. Evaluation of postural stability of athletes - a literature review

Title: Evaluation of postural stability of athletes - a literature review Objectives: Thesis will address retrieval processing rating Dynamic Postural Stability of athletes . Compares analysis or results of research or investigations of different laborers working with this theme. It also mentions tests and machines used in clinical practice. It also investigates in what sports was postural stability tested and how or with what results. The most advanced, currently the most recognized dynamic posturography with impartial value is EquiTest device from NeuroCom. Therefore, the practical part focuses primarily on the results of examination of this device and make statistics about that. Methods: The diploma thesis has descriptive and analytical character. It is elaborate as a literary review . Results: The study includes 142 studies, of which only 11 concern the assessment of postural stability of athletes. Sports disciplines include tennis, football, baseball, tai-chi, taekwondo, gymnastics, basketball, softball. Affect of standing frames on measuring postural stability

This semestral thesis is focused on postural stability. The aim is to introduce standing frame Balance Trainer and haptic floor Wii Balance Board. The theoretical part describes the postural functions, posturography and subsequently standing frame Balance Trainer and stabilometric platform Wii Balance Board. It is also designed the measurement protocol for affect of standing frames on measuring postural stability on a group of subjects and the measurement is realized. From the collected data are calculated parameters which are statistically processed and the affect of standing frames on measuring postural stability is evaluated.

This bachelor thesis, in the theoretical section, explains the principle of functionality of heat pumps, their efficiency and distribution by type of circulation and heat source. The next part is devoted to technical research of comercially available gas heat pumps that are, in the calculation part, compared with electrical heat pump and with gas condensing boiler according to their energy efficiency.

V súčasnosti sa kladie veľký dôraz na znižovanie produkcie emisií, čistotu a kvalitu životného prostredia. Tieto trendy sa týkajú všetkých odvetví, tak isto aj stavebného priemyslu a vykurovania budov. Doposiaľ bolo najrozšírenejším typom vykurovania spaľovanie fosílnych palív. Do popredia sa však dostávajú tepelné čerpadlá a začínajú zaberať výrazný podiel trhu. Kvôli dopytu po tepelných čerpadlách vzrastá počet výrobcov a konkurencia. Cieľom výrobcov je zvyšovanie účinnosti tepelných čerpadiel a zároveň znižovanie výrobných nákladov na dosiahnutie lepšej pozície na trhu. Predložená práca sa zaoberá procesmi prebiehajúcimi v chladivovom okruhu tepelného čerpadla. Skúma správanie chladiva počas kondenzácie a možnosti zvýšenia účinnosti tepelného čerpadla. Zvýšenie účinnosti je dosiahnuté podchladením chladiva počas kondenzácie na zvýšenie tepelných ziskov. To je dosiahnuté zaradením druhého elektronického expanzného ventilu za kondenzátorom. Táto technológia je však finančne náročná. Práca sa zaoberá výpočtom kapiláry na základe praktických meraní, ktorá bude zadržiavať chladivo v kondenzátore a bude plniť podobnú úlohu ako expanzný ventil. Následne sú porovnané výsledky jednotlivých meraní. Výsledky sú porovnané voči jednoduchému systému, kde nedochádza k podchladeniu chladiva. V závere práce je analýza výsledkov jednotlivých systémov.
