New Age as a Concept of a Life Style and Development of Personality

Bachelor thesis describes the essential characteristics of New Age in terms of historical circumstances, the theoretical bases of authors, the way of membership and sources of inspiration. The author examines how this phenomenon corresponds to the post-modern features of the present, how is reflected in the lifestyle and culture of society, particularly as it absorbs the current practice of adult education - leisure education, professional training and life support. At the conclusion of the mentioned possible pitfalls and paradoxes of the New Age concept.

Vliv spirituality Terezie od Ježíše v životě a díle Marie Dominiky Mazzarellové Abstract This thesis follows the previous bachelor study (The influence of Theresa of Jesus's spirituality on the spiritual formation of S. Mary D. Mazzarello) and it deals with the influence of S. Theresa of Jesus's work in the next period of the life of S. Mary D. Mazzarello - the period when she was the general superior of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians Institute. The main sources are taken from her correspondence, from the Theresa of Jesus's documents and papers and from the salesian spirituality literature.
The Contrast of life and death in works of J. K. Šlejhar

The thesis focuses on J. K. Šlejhar's literary work from two points of view. The first part introduces Šlejhar's work in the contemporary literary context as a result of a synthesis of new literary styles. In the second part the thesis concentrates on a textual analysis and reconstruction of the author's "artistic world". The first part of the thesis gives insight into the contemporary discussions aimed at revising and redefining the function of art with respect to the new development in society and new human needs. The critical reception of realism and naturalism and the reflection of the then wide-spread adoption of new influences from foreign literatures are also dicussed. To draw a comparison, we quote both period and current studies dealing with J. K. Šlejhar's work. Thereby we want to demonstrate the changing requirements of literature and art and the changing perception of a literary work throughout time. The second part of the thesis comprises the textual analysis of Šlejhar's selected writings from the point of view of semiotic literary theory and the reconstruction of the author's "artistic world". Such approach enables us to draw comparisons to Russian literature of the 19th century, primarily with the works of N. V. Gogol and F. M. Dostoyevsky, and to discover a common basis for both...
Spiritual needs of patients from the nurses' point of view

The bachelor thesis deals with spiritual needs of patients and the importance of satisfying those needs. The object of the thesis was to investigate the nurses' awareness of the topic and their relationship towards this issue. The thesis follows the two traditional lines - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part firstly deals with needs in nursing generally and clarifies the basic concepts such as spirituality, religion, faith, atheism and agnosticism. Further on the notion of spiritual need is specified in more detail along with the possibilities of its satisfaction. Spiritual care of patients is explained from different perspectives of various denominations and religions. The empirical part consists of research, where by means of questionnaires the nurses' awareness and their attitudes towards the spiritual needs and their fulfilling were investigated.

This thesis examines the impact of philosophical system Principles of Life® on lives of its students. Theoretical part begins with introducing this philosophical system by its self- presentation and after that it is confronted with sociological literature. Philosophical system Principles of Life is regarded as non-theistic form of spirituality focused on development of human potential so it is perceived together with Human Potential Movement. New spiritual movements generally use some elements of psychotherapy. Therefore system Principles of Life was examined by Rican whether it uses some of common elements of psychotherapy and spirituality. Thesis also works with Roof's concept of "seeking " and "dwelling" and spiritual feminism concept. By means of qualitative research and interviewing its students, thesis observes how does this philosophy influence their life.

The Merry Holiness - The Spirituality of S. M. Braito In His Life and Works The goal of this thesis was to inquire the main features of the spirituality of Silvestr Maria Braito, who, in his time, played one of the key roles in the forming of the Christian life in former Czechoslovakia. Above all, it aimed to look into Braito`s spirituality on two levels: on the level of his personal experience, including the experience from the communist prison, and on the level of his works in the spiritual review Na hlubinu. The objective of the thesis was to categorize Braito`s spirituality and compare his theoretical work with the experienced spiritual life, including its changes. Benedictine Rule for Laymen or Becoming an Oblate

The name Diploma thesis is "Benedictine Rule for Laymen or Becoming an Oblate". The main goal of this thesis is the presentation of benedictione spirituality as it is lived in common daily life not only among the walls of monastery. It focuses mainly on benedictine oblate laymen. It shows that the Rule created in the sixth centurty is not obsolete and provides guidelines for getting closer to God through everyday labor and prayer. It is divided into three parts which cover historical and spiritual aspects benedictine rule regarding oblates. The first part describes beginnings of monasticism and life of Saint Benedict. The second part describes history of oblates since their formation. The last part focuses on role of oblates in the church, their spirituality and their life in the world.

The spiritual needs of pensioners in the residential home in Velká Bíteš Abstract: This theses focuses on spiritual needs of senior citizens living in the residential home for pensioners in Velká Bíteš. The theoretical part concentrates on the human needs, ageing and old age, healh and social services. It deals with spirituality, pastoral care, meaning of life and some religions. The practical part examinates the spiritual needs of pensioners in Velká Bíteš and tries to find out if these are sufficiently met. Further it maps the relation between the elderly to the faith, especially to some religious activities, and their cooperation with pastoral workers. The theses provides specific recommendations based on the results of the survay. The conclusion lists recommendations, which could be put into the practice and increase the quality of the spiritual care for senior citizens in residential facilities.
