Šuláková, Terezie ; Janda, Jan (advisor) ; Svačina, Štěpán (referee) ; Souček, Miroslav (referee)
Objective: to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of the office blood pressure (OBP) and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in the assessment of hypertension (HTN) in children with diabetes mellitus type 1 (DM1). Methods: We analyzed OBP and ABPM measurements in 84 diabetic children (43 boys) obtained at a median age of 14.9 years and 6.3±3.5 years after diagnosis of DM1. OBP and ABPM results were converted into standard deviation scores (SDS). In addition, we analyzed blood pressure loads and nighttime dipping. The comparison between OBP and ABPM was performed using kappa coefficient and receiver operator curve (ROC). Results: HTN was diagnosed in 43/84 (51%) patients using OBP (>95th percentile) and in 24/84 (29%) patients using ABPM (≥95th percentile during 24h, day or night). Both methods were in agreement in 33 ABPM normotensive and 16 ABPM hypertensive patients (most had nighttime HTN); 32% patients had white coat HTN and 9.5% patients had masked HTN. The kappa coefficient was 0.175 (95% CI -0.034 to 0.384) suggesting poor agreement between OBP and ABPM. Diastolic OBP was a better predictor of ABPM HTN (ROC AUC=0.71±0.06) than systolic OBP (AUC= 0.58 ± 0.07). The percentage of non-dippers ranged from 7 to 23% in ABPM normotensive patients and 21-42% in ABPM hypertensive patients who also had...

The goal of thesis "nursing care of patients with implemented intracranial sensor" was to analyze nursing care of patients on neurosurgical and critical care units in hospitals of the capital city of Prague. Main objectives were to understand whether there are nursing standards for "Nursing care for patients with established intracranial sensor", how nurses care for patients with increased intracranial pressure, if they have an experience with complications with patients with implemented ICP sensor and finally if they know the main complications that can potentially occur. The theoretical part describes the most common causes of brain damage and associated causes of intracranial hypertension, summarizes the types of sensors for monitoring intracranial pressure and ways of their implementation. It also deals with the specifics of nursing care associated with monitoring of intracranial hypertension. Quantitative research was chosen as methodology for this work. Data for the research was collected through anonymous questionnaire with nursing staff. The result was a finding that none of the cooperating departments have prepared a standard of nursing care for patients with an implemented ICP sensor, and that the majority of interviewed staff were not able to answer correctly if that standard in their...

Vykrutová, Iva ; Tilšer, Ivan (advisor) ; Melicharová, Ludmila (referee)
Thrombotic disease and it's consequences are worlwide one of the leading causes of death. There are prescribed anticoagulants for treatment and prevention. Currently these prescribed drugs - cumarins, unfractioned and fractioned heparins, which have many adverse effects are tried to be replaced. This review is focused on summary informations about two new anticoagulants drug - direct inhibitor f Xa (rivaroxaban) and direct thrombin inhibitor (dabigatran), which could substitude currently used drugs in future. These new substances were clinical tested, where proved safety and efficiency. In these days their indication allow for patients after knee and hip joint replacement. Advantages of rivaroxaban and dabigatran: per os aplication once a day predictable pharmacokinetics and therapeutic response low potencial of drug interaction no needs of monitoring of coagulation Disadvantages of rivaroxaban and dabigatran: limited experience yet significant financial cost unknow antidote In the future these drug could be used for other indications.

Data Quality Tools Benchmark
Černý, Jan ; Pejčoch, David (advisor) ; Máša, Petr (referee)
Companies all around the world are wasting their funds due to the poor data quality. Rationally speaking as the volume of processed data increase, the volume of error data increase too. This diploma thesis explains what is it data quality about, what are the causes of data quality errors, the impact of poor data and the way it can be measured. If you can measure it, you can improve it. This is where data quality tools are used. There are vendors that offer commercial solutions and there are also vendors that offer open-source solutions of data quality tools. Comparing DataCleaner (open-source tool) with DataFlux (commercial tool) using defined criteria this diploma thesis proves that those two tools could be equal in terms of data profiling, data enhancement and data monitoring. DataFlux is slightly better in standardization and data validation. Data deduplication is not included in tested version of DataCleaner, although DataCleaner's vendor claimed it should be. One of the biggest obstacles why companies don't buy data quality tools could be its price. At this moment, it is possible to consider DataCleaner as an inexpensive solution for companies looking for data profiling tool. If Human Inference added data deduplication to DataCleaner, it could be also possible to consider it as an inexpensive solution covers whole data quality process.

Welding of aluminum alloys using high-power semiconductor laser
Mikeš, David ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
Thesis deals with the optimization of process parameters during laser welding of aluminum alloys 5000 series. The theoretical part describes the types of lasers and their applications in industry, further discusses the properties of aluminum alloys, laser welding theory and principles of monitoring and diagnostics of laser process. In the experimental part the samples were welded using a semiconductor laser. For those samples were evaluated mechanical properties, welded defects and structure depending on the process parameters. Using the photodetector was observed stability of laser process by sensing the plasma plume. The link between stability and the formation of structural defects in the weld joint was observed from the measurement results.

Study of interactions of pigments with biopolymer chitosan
Kolesa, Pavel ; Kalina, Michal (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
This master's thesis was focused on the study of interaction of some organic azo dyes (model diffusion probes) with cationic biopolymer chitosan. This interactions were realized via diffusion processes in hydrogel media based on thermoreversible agarose. The main aim was study of influence of pH of solution on the diffusion process. Interactions of used dyes are based on electrostatic character. The aminogroup of chitosan interacts with the functional group of chosen dyes (anionic sulfonic group) and thus affects the process of diffusion. The model diffusion compounds were chosen organic anionic dyes Chicago sky blue 6B (C.I. 24 410), Sirius red (C.I. 35 780) and Reactive blue 49 (C.I. 621 526). The important content of this diffusion method is a monitoring of the time progression of diffusion profile by UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The presented work follows the bachelor thesis and shows comprehensive view of the reactivity of chitosan and its behavior in different systems. Unsteady diffusion in cuvettes appears to be a universal method for the study of reactivity of biopolymers and for the study of transport processes in hydrogel media. The diffusion method is universal, easy and cheap.

Ječmínková, Jana ; Fischer, Jan (advisor) ; Vyskočil, Vlastimil (referee)
Voltammetric methods for the determination amphenicol antibiotic chloramphenicol (CAP) and quinolone antibiotic Ofloxacin (OFL) were developed. TTechniques differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and DC voltammetry (DCV) for determination of both substances at boron doped diamond film electrode (BDDFE) were used. The effect of pH of Britton-Robinson buffer was tested and the stability of the signal with repeated measurements was monitored. Optimal pH 6 was used for determining of CAP by both, DPV and DCV techniques. Media of pH 4 for determining of OFL by DPV and DCV was optimal. Under these conditions linear dependences in the calibration concentration region 1.10 -6 - 1.10-4 mol.l -1 were obtained. The limit of determination for the method for CAP by DPV at 3.10 mol.l , by -6 -1 DCV at 3.10 mol.l and for -6 -1 OFL by DPV at 1.10 mol.l -6 -1 and by DCV at 4.10 mol.l -7 -1 was found. The developed methods were used for the determination of CAP in the drug samples Spersadex comp. and OFL determination in drug samples Zanocin 200. Method for solid phase extraction of OFL from samples of urine with voltammetric detection was developed with limit of determination at 7.10 mol.l . -6 -1
